There are photographers available to assist, but since we had our luggage with us, we decided to set up our own camera and take the photos ourselves. This area is also filled with souvenir shops. If you're looking for gifts, we recommend checking out the smaller shops around the vicinity. Come for the photos and stay for the shopping—it's a fun experience! • Travel Information • From Chengdu -> Dujiangyan Take the high-speed train from Xipu Station (犀浦) to Liduigongyuan Station (离堆公园). The journey takes only 20-30 minutes, and it's just a 100-meter walk from Exit D.

Panda Valley features a charming cafe for visitors, accessible both upon entry and exit. We decided to stop by on our way out after a tiring walk admiring the pandas, to recharge before continuing our journey. The cafe we visited is called 'MEI LAN CAFE,' which is adorably panda-themed. The decor perfectly complements the natural surroundings, offering plenty of seating without feeling crowded. The menu mainly consists of fast food, desserts, and beverages, all with a delightful panda twist. We tried the 🐼🍹Panda Bayberry Rice Ball, served in a bucket with panda-shaped marshmallows. The bayberry jelly inside was refreshing, and the chewy rice pearls added a unique texture. We also ordered some dumpling soup, which was delicious and perfect for the chilly weather 🥟. ✨This spot is ideal for relaxing, taking photos, and enjoying a quick bite or drink before heading to your next destination.

Dujiangyan Dam is an ancient water conservancy project over 2,000 years old and is considered a 5A-level tourist attraction. We strolled along the Langqiao and Nanqiao bridges, which are located near the ancient town of Guanxian. These spots are popular among tourists for taking photos with the bridges and the stunning blue water. There are also shops renting traditional Chinese costumes for visitors to dress up and take photos, just like in historical dramas. If you have time, you should try this activity. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time, so we only managed to explore the ancient town, enjoy a meal, and wait to see the blue water and lights at the bridge. The bridge tends to get crowded, so we recommend heading to the side of the bridge for a better view and photo opportunities of the blue water. ✨ When we visited, the lights at the dam started to turn on around 6 PM. Getting there: From Chengdu, take the high-speed train from Xipu Station to Liduigongyuan Station (the station for Dujiangyan City). Exit the station and walk along the river until you reach the dam. For the return trip, if you’re traveling with a group, we recommend using Didi to get back to Chengdu—it’s very convenient.

Visiting Chengdu wouldn't be complete without stopping by to see the adorable pandas. We visited 🐼Panda Valley in Dujianyan, and it was a delightful experience. We conveniently purchased tickets through Trip.com. The valley is home to both giant pandas and red pandas, surrounded by a serene and natural atmosphere. We went during the afternoon session and were lucky to see many pandas out and about. They were incredibly cute, and we got to observe them up close. The pathways are well-maintained and easy to navigate, with clear signage indicating directions, panda names, and even their birthdates. 📸 Panda Valley also offers numerous photo spots, giving you the feeling of walking through a lush forest. 🚕 For transportation, we took a taxi from downtown Dujianyan, which was quick and convenient. 🚌 Alternatively, there is a shuttle bus service from Dujianyan city to Panda Valley.

Have you ever envied someone who gets paid to eat and sleep for 14 hours a day? In Chengdu, I discovered an entire "corporation" of such specialists. Black-and-white, fluffy, and incredibly photogenic. Today, my report comes from the office of these adorable top managers of laziness: the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Pandas. The irony is that China's most recognizable symbol, the one people cross oceans to see, is by nature a solitary recluse who just wants to be left alone to munch on bamboo. Yet we flock to its "bungalow." That's the price of charm. TRAVEL TIP: Don't miss this crucial advice: Arrive at OPENING TIME, around 7:30-8:00 AM! Pandas aren't early risers, but during the cool morning hours, they are fed and relatively active. After 10:30 AM, you're likely to see nothing but furry lumps snoozing in the shade. I'm serious, the difference is like attending a live concert versus scrolling through Instagram photos. Where: North Chengdu, Panda Avenue, 1375. How: Take Metro Line 3 to Panda Avenue Station, then a taxi for 10 yuan or a free shuttle to the entrance. A taxi from downtown is also a great option. Tickets: 55 yuan (discounts for students). Most importantly, buy your ticket online in advance via their WeChat or website! The ticket office might be sold out. When: Weekdays are best. Open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Set aside 3-4 hours for a leisurely visit. The area is huge. What to wear: Comfortable shoes. It's a marathon through hilly paths. Bring water. The Chengdu Panda Base is a place where you feel like a guest in the home of true stars. You observe their calm, almost philosophical lifestyle and realize that sometimes sleeping 14 hours a day and enjoying simple pleasures is a great achievement. Today, I had the chance to check in at the Zhongshuge Bookstore, Rongchuang Mao branch. I was curious why so many people love taking photos there. Once I visited, I totally understood. The store is uniquely beautiful with its curved bookshelves. No matter how you take photos, they turn out great. The lighting is perfect, making portraits look flawless. However, it’s quite crowded, so you’ll need to find a good spot. On the upper floor, you can get a full view of the entire store, making it easier to take photos. The lower floor is packed with books, and it’s fun to browse around. There are also quiet spots to sit and read. If you visit in the afternoon, it tends to be busier, but you can still find cozy corners to relax. In summary, the store is truly beautiful, great for photos, and a pleasant place to hang out. On the second day, we woke up very early to travel to a small town near Chengdu. The journey took almost 1.5 hours. First, we took the metro, followed by a 22-minute ride on a high-speed train that reached speeds of up to 200 km/h 😱. There were no seats available, so we traveled standing in the intense heat 🤪. Our first stop was the Panda Valley. The entrance fee was approximately 850 rubles. Most of the regular pandas were already asleep, but we were incredibly lucky with the red panda—it ran right under our feet! My husband even managed to touch its tail 🤪. Next, we visited a square featuring a giant panda taking a selfie. Afterward, we enjoyed a magnificent tour of the irrigation system. Although the journey from Chengdu took several hours, every minute was worth it. Jiuzhaigou is famous for its crystal-clear lakes, colorful reflections, and cascading waterfalls. The water changes color depending on the light—from turquoise to emerald green—and looks almost unreal. Walking along the wooden paths, surrounded by mountains and forests, felt peaceful and refreshing. Even with other tourists around, the vastness of nature made it easy to feel calm and connected. This day was physically tiring but emotionally rewarding, and it quickly became the highlight of the trip. Day 2: Mount Qingcheng – Peaceful and Spiritual On the second day, I visited Mount Qingcheng, one of the birthplaces of Taoism. Compared to Jiuzhaigou, this mountain felt quieter and more spiritual.
