During our trip to Chengdu, the city of pandas, we had the chance to visit the famous and grand library at Dujiangyan Zhongshuge. It was absolutely stunning! The interior is beautifully designed. This library is located on the 2nd floor of Sunac Mall in Dujiangyan city. The best part? Entry is free! Truly amazing. Opening hours: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We recommend visiting on weekdays when it's less crowded, making it perfect for taking beautiful photos. If you love grandeur and magnificence, this place is definitely for you. I stayed in Dujiangyan for one night and searched for hotels on an app. After checking out several options, I finally decided on this one. I stayed at 📍 Holiday Inn Dujiangyan Ancient Town, and it was great 🏨💚. The room was clean, the bed was soft and comfortable 🛏️, and I had a good night's sleep. Although the staff couldn't speak English, I used a translation app to communicate, and it worked out fine 😊✨. The location is excellent. You can walk to Panda Selfie 🐼 or Nanqiao Bridge 🚶♀️ in just a short time without needing to arrange transportation. Plus, it's not far from the high-speed train station 🚄, making trips to and from Chengdu very convenient. The hotel is just a short walk from the main road, where you can easily hail a taxi to get around. Nearby, there's a minimart selling snacks and drinks. If you get hungry late at night or need to buy something, it's very convenient (though I'm not sure about their opening hours or if they're open 24 hours) 🍜🛒. If you're visiting Dujiangyan and looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay, I highly recommend this hotel.

When talking about Chengdu, the first thing that comes to mind is "pandas." Chengdu has several panda research centers, but we chose to visit Dujiangyan. The main reasons were the convenient timing and fewer crowds compared to the research centers in the city. This place isn’t very large, making it easy to walk around and observe pandas up close. The pathways are natural and relaxing to stroll through. However, the red panda zone might be a bit tiring as it requires a slight uphill walk. But the adorable pandas are close enough to make it worth the effort. • Opening hours: 08:00-17:30 (It’s recommended to enter before 16:30.) • Entrance fee: 55 yuan/person, tickets can be purchased at the entrance. • Recommended visiting time: Morning (08:00-10:00) Pandas are awake and eating during this time. Transportation: - Take the high-speed train from Chengdu (Xipu Station) to Dujiangyan Station, then continue by taxi/Didi (around 10-15 yuan) or bus line 14. - If staying in Dujiangyan, you can call a Didi directly, but the car will stop at the designated parking area, requiring a short walk to the entrance.

PANDA SELFIE: Dujiangyan If you're visiting Dujiangyan, you absolutely can't miss taking a photo with the Panda Selfie! Our red panda family stopped by to snap some pictures before heading out from the hotel. There are photographers available to assist, but since we had our luggage with us, we decided to set up our own camera and take the photos ourselves. This area is also filled with souvenir shops. If you're looking for gifts, we recommend checking out the smaller shops around the vicinity. Come for the photos and stay for the shopping—it's a fun experience! • Travel Information • From Chengdu -> Dujiangyan Take the high-speed train from Xipu Station (犀浦) to Liduigongyuan Station (离堆公园). The journey takes only 20-30 minutes, and it's just a 100-meter walk from Exit D.

We arrived around 3 PM, and the crowd was still manageable. On that day, the ancient town's Fire Bridge was closed, which might have contributed to fewer tourists. However, it's definitely worth visiting. Most importantly, if you're planning to return by train, make sure to book your tickets in advance through Trip.com as they sell out quickly. Don't miss out!

A breathtakingly beautiful ancient Chinese-style garden! Who would have thought!! Qingcheng Mountain hides an entire garden in traditional Chinese style! The sound of water flowing under small stone bridges instantly disconnects you from the chaotic outside world. As soon as you step in, you'll feel like you've traveled back in time to the past~ Imagine dining by a rowboat, soaking in the evening sunlight, and listening to the gentle flow of water. My close friend said the atmosphere feels like stepping into the movie 'Dream of the Red Chamber.' This place is perfect for family gatherings, as they offer a variety of private rooms to choose from.

Panda Valley features a charming cafe for visitors, accessible both upon entry and exit. We decided to stop by on our way out after a tiring walk admiring the pandas, to recharge before continuing our journey. The cafe we visited is called 'MEI LAN CAFE,' which is adorably panda-themed. The decor perfectly complements the natural surroundings, offering plenty of seating without feeling crowded. The menu mainly consists of fast food, desserts, and beverages, all with a delightful panda twist. We tried the 🐼🍹Panda Bayberry Rice Ball, served in a bucket with panda-shaped marshmallows. The bayberry jelly inside was refreshing, and the chewy rice pearls added a unique texture. We also ordered some dumpling soup, which was delicious and perfect for the chilly weather 🥟. ✨This spot is ideal for relaxing, taking photos, and enjoying a quick bite or drink before heading to your next destination.

Dujiangyan Dam is an ancient water conservancy project over 2,000 years old and is considered a 5A-level tourist attraction. We strolled along the Langqiao and Nanqiao bridges, which are located near the ancient town of Guanxian. These spots are popular among tourists for taking photos with the bridges and the stunning blue water. There are also shops renting traditional Chinese costumes for visitors to dress up and take photos, just like in historical dramas. If you have time, you should try this activity. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time, so we only managed to explore the ancient town, enjoy a meal, and wait to see the blue water and lights at the bridge. The bridge tends to get crowded, so we recommend heading to the side of the bridge for a better view and photo opportunities of the blue water. ✨ When we visited, the lights at the dam started to turn on around 6 PM. Getting there: From Chengdu, take the high-speed train from Xipu Station to Liduigongyuan Station (the station for Dujiangyan City). Exit the station and walk along the river until you reach the dam. For the return trip, if you’re traveling with a group, we recommend using Didi to get back to Chengdu—it’s very convenient.

Visiting Chengdu wouldn't be complete without stopping by to see the adorable pandas. We visited 🐼Panda Valley in Dujianyan, and it was a delightful experience. We conveniently purchased tickets through Trip.com. The valley is home to both giant pandas and red pandas, surrounded by a serene and natural atmosphere. We went during the afternoon session and were lucky to see many pandas out and about. They were incredibly cute, and we got to observe them up close. The pathways are well-maintained and easy to navigate, with clear signage indicating directions, panda names, and even their birthdates. 📸 Panda Valley also offers numerous photo spots, giving you the feeling of walking through a lush forest. 🚕 For transportation, we took a taxi from downtown Dujianyan, which was quick and convenient. 🚌 Alternatively, there is a shuttle bus service from Dujianyan city to Panda Valley.

Have you ever envied someone who gets paid to eat and sleep for 14 hours a day? In Chengdu, I discovered an entire "corporation" of such specialists. Black-and-white, fluffy, and incredibly photogenic. Today, my report comes from the office of these adorable top managers of laziness: the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Pandas. This is not a zoo with cages. The base spans 100 hectares on Futoushan Hill. You stroll along shady paths surrounded by artificial ponds, streams, and, of course, endless bamboo groves. The air is fresh, birds are singing. And yes, this is Chengdu, a bustling metropolis! The contrast is striking. Look for these spots: Sun, Moon, and Star Pavilions: Home to pandas of different ages. Moon Nursery: The world's largest nursery for baby pandas. If you're lucky, you might see newborns, pink and hamster-like. Swan Lake: A tranquil corner with birds. Bronze statue of a mother panda with her cub — the base's symbol. From the hills, you can sometimes catch a view of sprawling Chengdu in the distance. And you realize: these guys live in the city's greenest "luxury complex." The irony is that China's most recognizable symbol, the one people cross oceans to see, is by nature a solitary recluse who just wants to be left alone to munch on bamboo. Yet we flock to its "bungalow." That's the price of charm. TRAVEL TIP: Don't miss this crucial advice: Arrive at OPENING TIME, around 7:30-8:00 AM! Pandas aren't early risers, but during the cool morning hours, they are fed and relatively active. After 10:30 AM, you're likely to see nothing but furry lumps snoozing in the shade. I'm serious, the difference is like attending a live concert versus scrolling through Instagram photos. Where: North Chengdu, Panda Avenue, 1375. How: Take Metro Line 3 to Panda Avenue Station, then a taxi for 10 yuan or a free shuttle to the entrance. A taxi from downtown is also a great option. Tickets: 55 yuan (discounts for students). Most importantly, buy your ticket online in advance via their WeChat or website! The ticket office might be sold out. When: Weekdays are best. Open from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Set aside 3-4 hours for a leisurely visit. The area is huge. What to wear: Comfortable shoes. It's a marathon through hilly paths. Bring water. The Chengdu Panda Base is a place where you feel like a guest in the home of true stars. You observe their calm, almost philosophical lifestyle and realize that sometimes sleeping 14 hours a day and enjoying simple pleasures is a great achievement. It's not just an attraction; it's a story of monumental success in species conservation, told through the incredible charm of its heroes.

#Get a discount without relying on luck Leyili is a snack shop in Dujianyan, known for its freshly made dumplings and dim sum. Located in an alley with many other restaurants, the shop has a cute decor that perfectly matches the old city vibe. Popular dishes include dim sum, small folded dim sum served with mala sauce, and chewy noodles with mala sauce, all served in small bowls. The mala sauce is very fragrant and moderately spicy. Today, I had the chance to check in at the Zhongshuge Bookstore, Rongchuang Mao branch. I was curious why so many people love taking photos there. Once I visited, I totally understood. The store is uniquely beautiful with its curved bookshelves. No matter how you take photos, they turn out great. The lighting is perfect, making portraits look flawless. However, it’s quite crowded, so you’ll need to find a good spot. On the upper floor, you can get a full view of the entire store, making it easier to take photos. The lower floor is packed with books, and it’s fun to browse around. There are also quiet spots to sit and read. If you visit in the afternoon, it tends to be busier, but you can still find cozy corners to relax. In summary, the store is truly beautiful, great for photos, and a pleasant place to hang out.
