#TravelFreeVisa Want to see wildlife, want to go on a safari? You can get a Free VISA!! Because this is “South Africa”, a country that provides free visas for Thais. Those who want to go on a safari (game drive) can choose from Cape Town and Kruger National Park. For us, we chose to fly to Johannesburg (the ticket price is very cheap) and then drive to Manyeleti game reserve, which is next to Kruger National Park. Wildlife can be reached all the time, there is no fence. The game drive activity is organized by the accommodation by a game ranger who will take us on a real jungle ride! Both at sunset and sunrise, they will take us to see wildlife that we have seen in documentaries offroad. Of course, many people want to see the BIG5 or the five great wildlife of Africa (lions, leopards, African elephants, African buffaloes, and rhinos), but unfortunately, we only saw 4 (missing the leopard). They said that lions and leopards do not get along, but the area we went to is the habitat of a lion pride, so we did not see any leopards. But just seeing them was a great experience, especially the baby animals that are so cute and shy. Oh! And when you see this, don't think the weather is hot because it's actually very cold. Especially from dusk until sunrise, it's very cold. Don't forget to bring warm clothing. Another thing is that the accommodation doesn't have a fence, so you'll really get close to the wild animals. Seeing wild animals in nature is really special.

Kruger Shalati Train Hotel is located on the Selati Bridge above the Sabie River in Kruger, South Africa. The location alone is a winner, as guests staying in the refurbished steam train wake up to the real animal kingdom. The hotel has a total of 31 rooms, including 24 carriage rooms and 7 bridge house rooms, all of which are decorated with African native designs and handmade. Through the glass walls of the rooms, you can see crocodiles in the river from time to time, as well as hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and other wildlife. From the corridor outside the room, you can go to the viewing platform and the open-air hanging pool, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Sabie River and the grasslands. The hotel's exterior retains the features of the railway tracks to the greatest extent, which is really cool!

Planning a safari in Kruger? My biggest recommendation is to stay inside the park. It completely changes the experience and gives you far more opportunities to spot wildlife. 📍 How to get there The easiest way is to fly into Nelspruit (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport) or Skukuza Airport, then rent a car. Kruger is one of the best national parks in the world for a self drive safari, with excellent roads and clear signage, making it easy to explore at your own pace. 🏕️ Why stay inside the park? · You can leave as soon as the gates open, when wildlife is most active. · No long daily drives from outside the park. · You can relax between game drives instead of commuting. · Many camps overlook rivers or waterholes where animals regularly appear, even while you’re having breakfast. 🦓 Which camps should you choose? If it’s your first visit, I recommend combining 2 or 3 camps. 🐆 Best chance of seeing leopards · Lower Sabie · Skukuza Both camps sit along the Sabie River, one of Kruger’s richest wildlife areas. 🦁 Best for lions · Satara The surrounding grasslands are famous for large lion prides and excellent predator sightings. 🐘 Best for elephants and diverse wildlife · Lower Sabie · Skukuza · Crocodile Bridge These southern camps offer some of the highest wildlife densities in the park. 🦒 For a quieter experience · Olifants · Letaba · Shingwedzi Fewer vehicles, beautiful scenery, and a more remote safari atmosphere. 📅 How many days? I’d recommend at least 4 to 5 days. Every game drive is different, and wildlife sightings depend on patience and luck. Spending several days greatly increases your chances of seeing the Big Five. 💡 Extra tips · Book accommodation several months in advance, especially during the dry season. · Download offline maps before entering the park. · Drive slowly. The best sightings often happen when you’re least expecting them. · Stop at waterholes, especially during the middle of the day when animals come to drink. · Don’t try to cover too much distance. Exploring one area well usually leads to better sightings than constantly driving from one end of the park to the other. Kruger isn’t just about ticking off the Big Five. Some of my favorite moments were watching elephants interact, listening to lions roar after sunset from camp, and simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the African bush. This route is much more than jaw-dropping views. You're cruising through some of the oldest pieces of Earth's crust, making the whole drive a living, breathing geology lesson. Even if science is not your vibe, the lookouts are stupendous and the surrounding space offers divine serenity. The main route is the 38km Geotrail, a paved route that you follow by car along the R40 from Barberton all the way to the Swazi border. Expect 11 official stops—each with signs explaining the geological features. 🌋 The whole drive takes around 2–3 hours. At the border, you can choose to continue into eSwatini, loop back to Barberton, or get wild and chase dirt roads towards Msauli. Barberton Makhonjwa Mountains are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. PS.
