Salt Field Museum
The museum is very interesting, providing a unique perspective on the coexistence of humans and their habitat through the study of salt. From Iberia to Rome to Spain, salt and the sea have always been central to Santa Pola Pueblo. Near the museum building, there is a lake with a wooden trail around it. The lake is home to various birds, most notably a pink flamingo! They are very beautiful, and I recommend you go see them. This information center and park make it easy for us to understand the reasons behind it. Most importantly, it's free!

Beautiful traditional historical square
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
I enjoyed walking around the centre of Elche and the Plaza del Ayuntamiento is a really nice place to relax surrounded by buildings from before the concrete era including the imposing Elche Fortress and the Town Hall. This is the kind of place that pops up on holiday nights, with the echoes from the surrounding buildings making the atmosphere lively. This is a wonderful place to take a walk and spend time with the family. There are also banks, perfume shops, pharmacies, boutiques and even a place to grab a coffee if you want.

An old hydraulic mill
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
It is part of the traditional irrigation system of the Palmeral in Elche, which is of great historical and cultural importance and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This mill was built in the 18th century beside the Vinalopó River bed to grind grain using water power. Currently, Molí del Real is a tourist and cultural attraction. Although it is no longer in operation, its structure has been restored, retaining elements such as irrigation ditches and machinery. It is an emblematic place that combines history, nature and heritage in a quiet setting, ideal for walks and educational visits.

Admire the classic Arab baths in the monastery's basement
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
It's located in the basement of the Convent of Santa Lucia, but you can enter through the door located in Times Square. Admission is 1€ per person. This is a very interesting place for scholars or lovers of Arabic or medieval culture. At the entrance they show a reconstruction of the changes in the building from its conception to the present day. It's not a very large space, but it's interesting in its diversity. In some parts of the building, historical details and paintings are still visible. Recommended for adults. It has both artistic and archaeological significance. They offer free guided tours at the entrance.

A great place to relax while traveling
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
Beautiful public square in a pedestrian area in the center of Elche. Nearby you will find benches with enamel tiles, a gushing fountain and various shops. There are palm trees here too, as there are throughout the city, so there are also various shady spots to sit and relax, with street cafes and bars all around for a drink, a pleasant place that many cities should emulate.

The mysterious Masonic lodge of the past
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Alicante (Region)
What a pleasant surprise. Tickets are €2 and free on Sundays. From the outside it looks like a simple tower, but the inside of the house is exquisite. In itself it’s like you’ve entered another era, but the different rooms mean you’re changing the atmosphere every moment. The decoration of the Masonic Room and the rooms on the first floor of the Manor House are very striking. The trompe l'oeil paintings in the church are amazing. From the upstairs terrace you can enjoy a great view of the city with its cathedral.

A historic building that is constantly being revitalized
During our visit to this city, we could only see the palace from the outside. The palace has a long history due to its various owners and uses. In 1970, the town hall was requisitioned, and the building underwent restoration. Continuous revitalization of the building is its story. Built in the 15th century by the city's first lord as his usual residence, it may even have Almohad walls dating back to the 12th or 13th century in its foundations. After the civil war, it became a concentration camp and prison for Republicans. It has now been magnificently restored and houses the Elche Archaeological and History Museum.

Elche is famous for its palm plantations
The central park has over a million trees, following the river that runs through the town center. It is one of the best parks in the province, well-cared for, clean, protected, and maintained, with a wide variety of plants and trees, most of which are palm trees. It is an important part of the UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site palm grove. The Royal Palm Tree is worth seeing for its uniqueness. Walking through the park with family or a partner is a pleasure. There seems to be free entry without any signs, so we just strolled around and discovered several fountains and some beautiful avenues in a lovely, litter-free environment.

Add color and highlights to the entire tour
A visit well worth it. This was my first time visiting the city of Elche, and without a doubt, I highly recommend this place. It's an amazing spot, a true oasis in the city center, showing respect for those who take care of it. The ticket price is 6.5 euros, which is not expensive at all for the beauty you will find inside. The route is clearly marked, and you can discover various types of palm trees, especially the royal palm trees, along with a large number of tropical plants imported from around the world - a paradise for succulent lovers! There is a restroom and a shop with affordable souvenirs and plants.

Small dinosaur fossil museum
A very beautiful and charming museum with a large collection of fossils and minerals from the Valencian Community area. If you have curiosity, you can learn about different geological eras and their main characters ~ dinosaurs, fossils, etc. We visited on a Sunday, and admission was free. However, on weekdays, the entrance fee is 2 euros. If you want to move quickly, you can visit all the places within half an hour. But if you stop to carefully read all the information, you might spend more time.

It retains some of its Muslim history and Baroque splendor
The historic area of Elche is the capital of the Alicante Baix Vinalopò region, retaining some of the Muslim history and Baroque splendor.
The palm groves here are a World Heritage Site, adding to the area's appeal along with two festivals declared as international tourist attractions: "Domingo de Ramos" (Palm Sunday) and the Mystery of Elche. The Elche Festival is listed by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. There are many reasons to visit Elche, such as its numerous nature reserves, coastal towns, and famous cuisine, among others.
To understand the origins of this city in the province of Alicante, you should visit the Alcudia Monographic Museum and Archaeological Site. Although the area has been inhabited since the Neolithic period, Iberian and Roman artifacts are the most common. This is where the Lady of Elche was discovered, currently housed in the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid. In the 10th century, the Arabs transformed the city to its current location and planted palm groves around it. When Jaime I reconquered the city, Christians occupied the Vila Murada (inside the city), while Jews and Moors occupied the Raval (outside the city).

The tower that protects the only bridge in Cordoba
Andalucia Tour ~ Cordoba
The first time you see this tower is from the side of the gate of the Roman bridge, because passing through it will lead you to this tower, a fortress of Islamic origin, considered the entrance and protection of the Roman bridge of Cordoba. Its architecture reflects its successive transformations. The horseshoe-shaped arch would have served as a gateway to the bridge, and its rectangular enclosure flanked by towers would have been reinforced in the 12th century. In 1931 it was classified as a Historic-Artistic Site along with the Roman Bridge and the Bridge Gate.

The blue swimming pool was the perfect place to relax.
#FallHocationEvent The accommodations were peaceful and well-maintained. The spacious, blue pool was perfect for relaxation, and the surrounding palm trees and gardens blended in beautifully, creating an exotic atmosphere. I especially loved the panoramic views while enjoying breakfast on the terrace. While the secluded location necessitates renting a car, I highly recommend it for a relaxing stay in nature.

In Elche, a town next to Alicante
#summertripevent #spain_vacations #spaintravel #alicante We stayed at a hotel with a pool in the neighborhood of #Elche.
It was quiet, but close to the sea, making it an ideal vacation spot.
Alicante is also a short drive away.

Barcelona is a city that makes people linger
I have been to too many attractions too many times, but every time I go, I still feel anticipation. Among the countless places I have been to, Barcelona is still my favorite.
