Chapel of Bones (Capela dos Ossos): A unique and slightly eerie experience—truly a Faro landmark. I was a bit scared to take photos of it! Faro Pier & City Centre: Great for evening strolls and catching the sunset. The vibe in the city centre is lively yet relaxed. Tavira: A stunning day trip. Crossing the Roman bridge and exploring the castle ruins offered some of the best scenery of the trip. 🥘 [Must-Try Food] Seafood is King: You simply cannot go wrong with the fresh catch here. Top Picks: The grilled octopus was tender and flavourful, the grilled squids were superb, and the local clams (often cooked with garlic and coriander) were a highlight. 🏠 [Accommodation] Faro Boutique Hotel: A solid, budget-friendly choice. Pros: It has a lift (essential if you are travelling with heavy suitcases) and is conveniently located within a 10-minute walk to the city centre. The mattress and pillows offered excellent support; I woke up without any back or neck pain. Cons: The room felt quite humid. We found it difficult to get the bathroom and towels to dry properly after use. 📣 [Essential Tips] Google Maps Lies: Do not 100% trust the opening hours listed on Google. We encountered several "surprises" where coffee shops or restaurants were closed despite being marked as open. Always have a backup plan! Transport Hack: Compare your ride-share apps! Bolt is often cheaper than Uber, and surprisingly, sometimes even cheaper than taking the train, especially for a group. Pacing: Watch your step amd wear the most comfortable shoes!
