Fortunately, the sun had already set, but its afterglow lingered for me. Standing on the tower's observation deck, the colossal statue of Christ the Redeemer overwhelmed me. His arms outstretched to the sky, his presence radiant with peace. Breathing in the warm daylight, I felt a sense of peace. The beige marble statue, once ablaze, was bathed in golden light as dusk descended, illuminated by the pedestal's illumination.
