From May 15th to May 20th, my husband and I stayed at W Maldives to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. We selected a Superior Overwater Villa facing the lagoon. The lagoon's stunning Tiffany blue color is the most beautiful sea I’ve ever seen! W’s outstanding service truly amazed us. Our butler, or more accurately our whatever/whenever agent, Aiham, and Ameen delivered excellent care. Upon check-in, Aiham created a WhatsApp group for us. Whatever we needed, we simply messaged, and they responded immediately every time. On our anniversary night, they and other staff beautifully decorated our bed, played drums, sang, and danced to celebrate. We were incredibly touched and happy. It was a wonderful anniversary we’ll never forget. Huge thanks to Aiham and Ameen for arranging this memorable celebration! The food at all the restaurants was delicious, and the service from all W colleagues was exceptional. Their warm, genuine smiles added to the experience. Everyone remembered our names and that it was our 31st anniversary. That evening, the chef wrote "Happy Anniversary ❤️" on our dessert plate, which was very moving. W Maldives also boasts the best house reef, making snorkeling incredibly convenient. Right by the hotel, we marveled at the underwater world filled with coral, baby sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, and vibrant fish. From the breathtaking views and convenient snorkeling to the delicious food and exceptional attention to detail, W Maldives has left a lasting impression on us. It’s easily the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Thank you, W, for an unforgettable anniversary celebration! You deserve the highest praise! 💯👍 We hope to visit again in the future! 💕🌹

“Calm Island” is breathtakingly beautiful, and a snorkeling paradise. A rare natural island with a glassy sea that is blue and green. Arrival 🚢. Take a seaplane to the island, and a luxury car will pick you up after you get off the plane. The seaplane lounge has a separate area for Calm Island, with self-service food and drinks. There are not many options, but enough. There is a dedicated “W” staff member to serve you all the way. Although they don't speak much Chinese, they are very good at using translation software. They even help you arrange dinner on the day of arrival and lunch and dinner the next day while you are resting. Beach villa 🏠. The back door leads to the pool, facing the best snorkeling area. Take photos of the sunrise on the pier in front of the door in the morning, and it feels like you are in a beautiful setting. The house is very large, with two floors. You can enjoy snacks on the second floor while feeling the sea breeze. It is semi-open. Water villa 🏠. I was shocked when I moved in. You can see fish playing in the room, and the glassy sea is right in front of you, as if you are floating on it. Food 🍸. I booked a package with two meals, which was the right choice. I couldn't eat three meals. Breakfast is amazing, with a buffet of Western and Southeast Asian flavors, and everything is delicious. There are three specialty restaurants for dinner, which need to be reserved in advance. Just tell the butler in advance. Recommended: Fiah. The mini bar is free and refilled at any time. Except for alcoholic drinks, everything else is included, so you can drink as much as you want. Service 👩. The service is in place throughout the whole process, and the attitude is first-class. The staff on the island smile when they see people. The only downside is the Chinese butler (a girl from Sichuan). The promised service is 24-hour Q&A, but she doesn't say anything, and it takes two or three hours to reply even if you ask her. She forgot to book a meal and add a quilt. When I asked her on WeChat at night, she said she was off work. Speechless. She has a good attitude, but doesn't reply. Everything else is perfect. Suggestions: Remember to ask the driver for earplugs when taking a seaplane, otherwise you will be dizzy from the noise. Tips: Bring more one-dollar bills. It is a tipping country, and there are many places to use them.

#kayak #100WaysOfTravel I know that getting a glass bottom kayak is expensive so I will choose to do all my watersports whenever I am in Maldives. You get to avoid all those extorting cases and you get a private instructor at the resort. Here at W Maldives, I rented a glass bottom kayak and the staff at the water sports center taught me a few basics and even offered me a free waterproof bag so that I could take out my camera when I reached the ocean. The blue skies and white clouds on a crystal-clear ocean make my photos even nicer. I had the best experience here and I have already planned my next Maldives trip. #maldives #liveyourdreams #takethattrip

#kayak #100WaysOfTravel A resort stay at Maldives always include free non-motorized water sports and life jackets. This is my stay in W Maldives and life jackets are already placed in the villa. Some water sports center will require a swim test before you can get a snorkel set from them. But you can get this easily on your own and bring it over. Just hop by to the water sports center and you can get their kayak for loan and this is complimentary. Just remember to put on sun block lotion which is also available for free at the pool and beach area. When you are having a vacation in Maldives, the lesser thing to worry about is money. #maldives #liveyourdreams #takethattrip

#repeatdestination I could easily imagine coming back to W Maldives again and again. 🌴💙 I spent much of my stay relaxing in my overwater villa, but I also loved wandering around the resort and discovering something new every day. From breathtaking ocean views and hidden little corners to the marine life around the island, there was always something that made me stop and look. 🐠✨ Some places are beautiful enough to visit once. Others make you want to come back again and again. Do you have a destination you never get tired of visiting? 💡 Tip: Don’t spend your entire stay in your villa—take time to explore the resort. You never know what you’ll discover! 📍 W Maldives #maldives #maldivestravel #islandlife #resortstay

#summerinonecut W Maldives is, without exaggeration, the best hotel stay I've ever had. From the seaplane arrival to the last sunset, everything felt effortless and special. The island is gorgeous, with soft white sand, glassy turquoise water, and a house reef so full of life that you can snorkel right off the beach. Our villa was stunning, stylish and spacious with a private deck and direct water access. The staff were warm and genuinely happy to help, remembering our names and preferences and going out of their way to make things perfect. The food was excellent, the bars had a fun, lively energy, and the sunsets were the cherry on top. W Maldives manages to be luxurious without feeling stuffy, and the atmosphere is a big part of what sets it apart. It isn't cheap, but every bit of it felt worth it. I'd go back in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone dreaming of the perfect island getaway.

#scenicviews SIP at W Maldives is the place to be as the day winds down. The bar sits right over the water, and the sunsets are spectacular, with the sky shifting from gold to pink to deep orange while the lagoon glows below. It's easy to lose track of time here. The cocktails were creative and well made, the bartenders were friendly and quick, and the relaxed music set the mood without overpowering it. It's social and lively but still feels effortless, and the sunset crowd adds to the atmosphere. Arrive a little early to claim a good spot, and order a drink before the sun dips.

#mytravelwrap W Maldives is a fun, vibrant take on the classic Maldivian resort. The setting is stunning, with powder-white sand, clear turquoise water, and a house reef right off the beach that's perfect for snorkeling. Our villa was spacious and beautifully designed, with a private deck and easy access to the water. The staff were friendly and upbeat throughout, and the dining options were varied and well presented. The bars and lounges have a lively, social energy that sets W apart from quieter resorts, while the spa and pool areas made it easy to unwind. Prices are high, as they are across the Maldives, but the location, service, and atmosphere made it worth it. I'd recommend W Maldives to anyone wanting a luxurious, design-forward stay, and I'd love to return.

#summerinonecut The seaplane flight to W Maldives was a highlight of our trip before we even reached the resort. Flying low over turquoise lagoons, white sandbars, and tiny islands ringed with coral was unforgettable, and the views from the window were beautiful the whole way. The check-in and boarding at Malé were smooth, the crew were friendly and professional, and the flight felt relaxed and well organized. Landing on the water and stepping onto the jetty was a magical way to begin the stay. It's a scenic experience as much as a transfer, and I'd recommend grabbing a window seat and keeping your camera ready. I'd happily do it again. Tell me your star rating, how long the flight took, or a favorite moment, and I can make it more personal.

Let’s start with the arrival. The boat picks up passengers at both the beginning and end of your journey, adjusting for the general time range of each individual traveler. This means your schedule depends on the group traveling with you at similar hours. The welcome at the dock is warm and friendly. The Sky Studio is quite minimalistic, suited for those who prefer resting after the midday heat and heading out for snorkeling or diving in the morning. The room offers just the essentials with no unnecessary frills. It would be great not to hear overly loud neighbors chatting or shouting from their balconies, which can be bothersome at any time of day. Extraneous intimate chatter from strangers feels uncomfortable. This island is about inner peace and quietness. That’s why we chose it—snorkeling, meditation 😊, and lovely conversations with people from Italy and Switzerland. Each representative of these countries brought wonderful and unique emotions to our experience. The reef was hard to compare, as we’ve only been to this island, but it didn't disappoint—we saw everything we wanted. The corals were vibrant and colorful. Some fish nibbled happily 😊, while turtles ignored us, possibly tired of human attention. Sharks were especially introverted. The island is lush with greenery, although the bar side where most people swam had more open spaces for soaking up the intense sun. The flora and fauna are filled with amusing residents, such as clever crows and a mystical heron. Flying foxes often seemed preoccupied, perhaps arguing, or maybe it’s their version of love 😊. Being a small island makes it perfect for solo travelers and couples. Mornings included snorkeling, afternoons were for relaxing naps, and evenings brought peaceful walks along the dock as the sun set over the horizon, followed by warm dinners. A waltz-like loop around the island, coffee and Sprite in the lounge zone, sleep—this was our rhythm. The soft rustling of palm fronds, the hum of waves, and breezes through the windows created perfect mornings. We were often awakened by a heron. Breakfast was always greeted by Amina, Nuzufa, Ditha, and Ijilal. Amina, very empathetic and enchanting, seamlessly connected with both children 😊 and adults like us. She turned everyone into kids on this island and was a helpful communicator, especially when language barriers arose. Kudos to management for employing someone so open and competent. Wishing her continued growth in the team. Ditha was sweet and very attentive. Ijilal, our mealtime captain, was caring, swift, and eager for heartfelt conversations—a romantic philosopher type. It felt less like dining and more like visiting family, reminiscent of “grandma’s house where you just feast on pancakes.” Nuzufa was gentle and friendly. Our evenings at the bar were made genuine by Hirusha, nicknamed “Little Muck,” who lovingly prepared foamy coffees and Virgin Mojitos. We often remember him during our autumn nights. Kypiya was kind, refreshing us with Sprite and cola at the beach bar. One evening, we met Florante and Mela, and after that, each encounter felt like seeing old friends. We shared heartfelt hugs before leaving; truly remarkable people. A warm shoutout to their team leader for such outstanding staff selection. We also participated in a Shark Contest, where the dive center manager, Lisa, conducted an amazing and informative program. She’s undoubtedly an expert. Regarding the food, it’s a mix of “spicy-hot” and “homely comfort.” It feels like dining in a cozy family restaurant. However, the spice level could be dialed down a bit, as some dishes like the fried fish were extremely spicy. Providing sauces for self-adding would be preferable. The mango sauce is unique but quite fiery too. This island isn’t suitable for kids; it’s an adult-oriented getaway. They spray the island daily to control insects, and we worried for geckos who might miss out on flies and mosquitoes. The sun is intense, so pack long-sleeve swimwear, shorts, and closed tops if planning active swimming. The pool area, under umbrellas and palm shade, offers an ideal sunbathing spot without direct exposure. The island left a mark of sunshine, warm friendships, kind smiles, and heartfelt embraces. Interaction with the island staff and distinctive individuals from different countries stood out the most. Cherish and protect nature, dear friends—the island’s authenticity must be preserved.

We arrived at The St. Regis Maldives after spending five days at the W Maldives. Bad weather delayed our seaplane connection in Malé, but the St. Regis lounge team made sure we were comfortable and kept us informed while we waited. The arrival process was an adventure. Though the flight was supposed to last 30 minutes, bad weather forced us to circle above the resort before diverting to a nearby atoll. A St. Regis boat picked us up at an offshore platform, and despite rough seas, the crew handled the transfer smoothly, professionally, and calmly—a reassuring start to our stay. Upon reaching the resort’s jetty, we were greeted by our butler, Sinah. To say Sinah was magical would not be an exaggeration. He was always there when we needed him yet never intrusive, anticipating our needs with an almost uncanny accuracy. He quickly took us to our stunning Sunrise Overwater St. Regis Suite 508. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered breathtaking sunrise views, tailor-made for us. My Marriott Ambassador status was thoughtfully acknowledged throughout the entire resort, not just at check-in but through consistently attentive and personalized service. Our first dinner at T•Pan was unforgettable. We had the restaurant to ourselves, where Chef Sabin curated an amazing menu while Yeni provided impeccable service. It was a clear sign that we had arrived at a very special place. That evening, we also met Yevgeni, the Food and Beverage Manager. Over the next ten days, he was a constant presence at every dining venue, personally engaging with guests to ensure every experience was exceptional. Being avid snorkelers, we were excited to explore the house reef, which required a modest swim to its edge but was well worth the effort. Visibility often exceeded 20 meters, and the marine life was spectacular. We encountered blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, turtles, moray eels, groupers, schools of snapper, and even a bustling cleaning station. The quality of this reef rivaled some of the best we’ve visited. A private atoll snorkeling trip was equally remarkable, but the resort’s own reef could easily compete. Other activities included a private sunset reef-fishing trip, and my wife went on two dives with Iris from the dive center. The professionalism, safety standards, and equipment were top-notch. We also enjoyed a private dinner with wine pairing at Decanter, which offered an extraordinary experience among a wine collection valued at $3 million. Sommelier Jiju was exceptional, pairing each dish while explaining the wines with ease and expertise. Any unfinished wine was seamlessly delivered to our next dining spot. Breakfasts at ALBA were a delightful way to start each day with a fantastic buffet and personalized service, like the staff remembering our coffee orders. Yeni seemed to be everywhere, ensuring a warm and attentive experience. Our two dinners at ALBA—one à la carte and one featuring the fish we had caught during our fishing trip—were equally splendid. Initially booked for five nights, we ended up extending our stay by another five because we simply didn’t want to leave. Sinah worked his magic yet again, maintaining continuity in our villa and effortlessly rearranging our flights. Few things speak louder for a resort’s quality than extending your stay while you’re there. We treated ourselves to two spa visits for various treatments and a session at the Blue Hole hydrotherapy experience. The treatments were world-class, and the serene setting added to the charm. During our final days, as the weather improved, we made the most of snorkeling straight from our villa, enjoying hours by the reef before relaxing at ALBA Beach Bar with refreshing cocktails and pizza. Anoof took amazing care of us, ever attentive and thoughtful. The St. Regis sunset sabrage at The Whale Bar was unparalleled. The ceremony, storytelling, team pride, and the stunning setting made it an unforgettable event. The tapas and the unique Island Mary cocktail added to the magic. Dining at Orientale was another highlight, with the pre-ordered Peking duck being a standout. Yeni and Yevgeni provided warm farewells, along with other team members who wished us a safe journey home. Could we fault anything? Absolutely not. This was one of the best resort experiences we’ve ever had. Special mention must go to Sinah, whom we will henceforth remember as the “St. Regis Genie.” He and the entire butler team epitomized warmth, discretion, and unparalleled service. Our top recommendations are trying T•Pan, Decanter, and the spa. As for accommodations, any of the overwater villas would be outstanding, but we personally loved the Sunrise side with our St. Regis Suite upgrade. We came for five nights but left after ten, already dreaming of our next visit. Recommended: 100 out of 10.

This was our second visit, and somehow, it felt even more magical than the first. The overwater villas were absolutely breathtaking, the cuisine was world-class, and the service remained the best we've ever experienced. The vibrant house reef was a daily highlight, gifting us unforgettable swims with turtles. Our deepest thanks to the entire W team for creating yet another perfect getaway. Special thanks to Salim, who made our trip incredibly memorable, ensured our safety on both water and sand, and, together with the Loss Prevention team, surprised our boys in the most amazing way. Chef Niwantha and the Guest Experience team created a beautiful birthday cake for our son. Mark's warm and lively energy brought joy to every day; Ajid's mocktails and popsicles were the ultimate tropical delight; and Shayne’s unparalleled attention to detail left a lasting impression. Finally, Ibrahim made our transfer from Malé Airport absolutely seamless. We’re already counting down the days to our next visit!

The islands are quite small, and unfortunately, we were unlucky with the weather as it was windy and raining, leaving no activities to do. However, once we raised this, the staff responded well and provided rainy-day activities. The resort itself is stunning, with the best food I’ve had in the Maldives – super fresh and delicious. The spa is gorgeous, the workouts are fun, and the staff and sea life are amazing! That said, there are some drawbacks: unheated pools, a chargeable padel court despite the limited space, and the overall small size of the island.

There are places you visit once, and some become a part of your heart forever. W Maldives has truly become one of those magical places for us. From the moment we stepped off the seaplane and were greeted by the arrival team to the heartfelt farewell by the departure team, we were wrapped in warmth, kindness, and exceptional hospitality beyond anything we've experienced before. Our sincerest gratitude goes to the General Manager and his wonderful family, who personally ensured every day of our stay was filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Their passion for creating extraordinary guest experiences radiated through every team member. The service team didn’t just look after us—they embraced us as part of their family. Every smile felt genuine, every interaction was heartfelt, and extraordinary attention was given to every detail. Despite our extensive travels, we rarely encounter such genuine hospitality. The culinary experience was simply outstanding. The Executive Chef and his talented kitchen team created masterpieces with each meal. From exquisite Maldivian specialties to world-class international cuisine, every dish showcased their passion, creativity, and perfection. We felt spoiled every single day. Our villa was maintained flawlessly. The housekeeping team handled every detail with professionalism and artistic flair, arranging surprises that made returning to the villa a daily highlight. Our anniversary and birthday celebrations exceeded all expectations. The team went above and beyond, creating moments that left us speechless. The care, creativity, and love invested in these celebrations made them among the most cherished days of our lives. Beyond traditional guest services, what impressed us most was the all-encompassing excellence. The accounting team welcomed us with warmth, the spa team provided complete relaxation, the DJs curated the perfect paradise soundtrack, and every team member we encountered made us feel incredibly valued. A special thank you goes to the Dive Centre and Watersports team. Their professionalism and energy made for unforgettable dives and thrilling sailing adventures that we’ll cherish forever. It’s impossible to single out every employee without naming the entire team at W Maldives. Everyone contributed uniquely to making our stay extraordinary. They’ve built something remarkable—a culture of genuine care, passion, and excellence as a way of life. Thank you, W Maldives, for giving us not just a holiday but lifelong memories. We came as guests and left as family. Without hesitation, this stands as one of the finest resorts and hospitality experiences we’ve ever had. We eagerly await our return to paradise.
