🌟[Top of Europe]🌟
In the Swiss Alps, there is a place that captivates the imagination - the Jungfrau, at an altitude of 4,158 meters. It is the "roof" of Europe and a sacred place in the hearts of countless travelers. Let's embark on this unforgettable journey together!
📍**Location Information**
The Jungfrau is located in the Bernese Oberland, about 18 km southeast of Interlaken. It spans the cantons of Bern and Valais and is part of the Bernese Alps.
✨**Attraction Introduction**
The Jungfrau is renowned for its spectacular natural scenery, offering views of rolling mountains, deep valleys, and the longest glacier in Europe - the Aletsch Glacier. From the observation deck at the summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the majestic Alps.
🚞**Transportation Guide**
- **How to Get to the Jungfrau:**
- From Interlaken, take the Golden Pass Line or Bernina Express to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald.
- Then transfer to the Jungfrau Railway, a historic cogwheel railway that takes you through mountain tunnels to the summit.
- **Suggested Itinerary:**
- Depart from Interlaken in the morning, transfer to the Jungfrau Railway at Kleine Scheidegg, passing the foot of the Eiger and Mönch peaks.
- Upon arrival at the Jungfrau station, visit the "Alpine Sensation" circular corridor to learn about the history of the railway and the magnificent scenery of the Alps.
- Don't miss the ice sculpture exhibition in the Ice Palace and the outdoor snow hiking.
🏨**Accommodation Recommendations**
- **Interlaken**: Located on the way to the Jungfrau, there are many hotels and inns to choose from. We recommend the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa, a five-star luxury hotel with an excellent location and comfortable accommodations.
- **Lauterbrunnen**: If you want to be closer to nature, you can stay in Lauterbrunnen. The Hotel Belvédère is a good choice, offering traditional Swiss-style rooms and beautiful mountain views.
🏞️**Nearby Attractions**
- **Schilthorn**: From Mürren, take the cable car to the top of Schilthorn, the filming location of the 007 movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," which also features a revolving restaurant.
- **Lauterbrunnen Valley**: Home to 72 famous waterfalls, the most famous of which is Staubbach Falls.
- **Grindelwald**: A charming Swiss town where you can enjoy skiing or summer paragliding.

Swiss small poor travel! Money-saving strategy!
1
Who says Switzerland is not fun in winter!! It's too beautiful! There are snow mountains and greenery
This time I spent about 7k RMB in total (see the last picture)
Play: Use Interlaken as a transit station, and return to a place every day. The advantage of this is that it is very flexible. Everyone knows that Swiss weather depends on luck. In this way, you only need to decide where to go according to the weather of the day
Transportation
The plane was bought more than a month in advance. Zurich to go, Geneva to return
Local transportation decisively swiss pass, very fragrant, tired can take the bus at any time, golden train to see where good can get off directly
Hotel
Living in the small town of Wilderswil, which is only 6 minutes away from Interlaken train, you can also take the bus from Interlaken ost. There is not much to eat in the town, usually buy in Interlaken. But the town has no light pollution and is very quiet, the stars are super good at night! The hotel faces the Jungfrau, and the snow mountain is just outside the window when the weather is good
Exchange money
Just find a UBS and settle in francs is the real-time exchange rate. One of my great pleasures in Switzerland is to compare the exchange rates in various places, really only UBS has no handling fee
Play
1 Day 1: Play in Zurich, stay in Interlaken on the same day. Zurich train station can store bags, there are many notes can be flipped. It was New Year's Eve that day, and the town's fireworks were quite good
2 Day 2: Interlaken round trip Zermatt (Matterhorn). The weather is super good, but my friends and I have high anti. The winter reflection there is frozen and covered by snow, and it is very dangerous to go there without professional shoes, I suggest everyone to consider life safety
3 Day 3: Interlaken - Golden Train Lucerne - Rigi. Rigi is really beautiful, although it is cloudy, it may be my favorite mountain, if conditions permit, take a cruise is great!4 Day 4: Interlaken round trip Grindelwald (First Mountain and Dream Slope), stay in Geneva at night. The paragliding and projects were cancelled due to the strong wind that day, but the scenery is really good. Remember to check the last cable car down the mountain time

Top of Europe: Snow, Sculptures, Slopes
Hop on a train to reach Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe, without the huffing and puffing! The air thins as you head up the mountain so take note not to over exert yourself.
The ice palace with beautiful ice sculptures is fascinating to visit, especially if you are from the tropics like me! Walking in the snow is fun but watch out for slippery ice as you queue to take a pic with Swiss flag. The view is breathtaking and it is COLD! Sunnies are really helpful with the blinding snow. Something special to do would be to video call your loved ones and show them the Top of Europe ❤️
There are a couple of eateries and a variety of shops if you are looking for Swiss gifts and keepsakes. The Top of Europe pass entitles you to some discount here.
Opt for the gondolas as you head down to Grindelwald first where you can get a cuppa hot (Lindt) chocolate: it’s amazingly good! That was our ‘cherry on top’ to complete this unique adventure.
My #2023travelwish is to bring my friends on a trip to New Zealand’s South Island to explore the glaciers and look out for wild life.

Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe - is easily accessible by cable car, cogwheel trains via Grindelwald, or via Lauterbrunnen-Wengen.
It was not cheap to visit but it was all worth it. The view was scenic, and it has a viewing point in the Bernese Alps, at an altitude of 3,454 m.
Plan your trip carefully and refer to the weather forecast before you purchase your tickets.
A winter wonderland to be at!

Special place with our first snow experience
It is an wonderful experience coming up here without doing a the hiking as people in the past did. The train ride was very comfortable and we were able to see the transformation from green valey ro snow-slope and snowy mountain. The moment we reached the top, the view was absolutely amazing. The snow was so fine to touch and the sky was so blue. Recommended to bring sunglasses as it is very glaring.

Once we reached Kleine Scheidegg, we started the final part of our journey. We took the train from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch. Most of the journey will be through the tunnels inside the mountain at an altitude of 3,000 meters.

The Tallest Mountain In Europe - Jungfrau
Switzerland is one of the most breathtaking trip ever, and this of course comes with price! There is 2 popular mountains here in Switzerland, 1 is the matterhorn mountain while the other is the jungfraujoch mountain(the tallest mountain in Europe).
Jungfrau(pronounced as Yong Frau), got its popularity because of the beautiful train ride you get on from Wengen where it will gives you a scenic 360 view from the train while going up to the mountain, it also is called the top of Europe, this means the air up there is thin! Ample clothing here is definitely needed as all year round it is cold and icy but of course do not head here during winter, I've never tried because I assume if the town is freezing, I can't imagine what's up here. The best time to go here is during August - November where also the weather is dry and crisps.

Don’t miss the chance to ride the First Cliff Walk, a thrilling walkway perched high above the valley floor.
Alpine villages like Interlaken, Mürren, and Lauterbrunnen add to the region’s charm, with wooden chalets, cascading waterfalls, and cozy cafes serving up hearty Swiss cuisine. Be sure to try a slice of authentic Swiss fondue while soaking in the serene mountain ambiance.

Jungfraujoch - the summit of Switzerland
Jungfraujoch, with an altitude of 4,158 meters, is the highest mountain in Switzerland. In order to allow ordinary people to appreciate her beauty up close, the Swiss have used all means to build railways 🚆, cable cars 🚡, elevators 🛗 and other means of transportation. It is no exaggeration to say that even if you are a person with disabled legs and feet, you can still Accessible to the observation deck.
PART ONE
🚘Transportation Guide:
1️⃣Take the train🚄 from Interlaken to the town of Grindelwald.
2️⃣Take the Eiger Express cable car in Grindelwald to Eigergletscher station.
3️⃣Change to the mountain rack train at Eigergletscher and arrive at Jungfraujoch station. This rack train was built in 1912. The station is 3,454 meters above sea level.
4️⃣ Finally, take the vertical elevator. After this twists and turns, you can reach the Sphinx Observatory opposite the Jungfraujoch.
PART TWO
🧭Tour guide:
1️⃣Sphinx Observatory
This is a viewing platform where you can enjoy the 360-degree view of the snow-capped mountains.
2️⃣ Jungfraujoch
The highest peak in Switzerland, 4,158 meters above sea level.
3️⃣Aletsch Glacier
There are many ravines on the surface of the Aletsch Glacier, which snake downwards.
4️⃣Underground ice cave
It is dug out from inside the glacier and is crystal clear. Be careful not to slip and fall.
5️⃣Outdoor Snow Park
From May to October, there will be a snow park on the slopes outside the observation deck, with ski circles, snowmobiles, alpine zip lines and other projects.
6️⃣Mountaintop Restaurant
There are many restaurants on the top of the mountain, where you can sit by the glass windows and enjoy the beautiful scenery while eating. Of course, there are also cheap fast food restaurants that are enough to fill your stomach.
7️⃣Chocolate🍫 Shop
Various styles of chocolates can be purchased at the Lindt Chocolate Paradise store, some of which are said to be unique to Jungfrau.
💡TIPS:
1️⃣During the tour, be sure to avoid excessive physical exertion. After all, the altitude is nearly 4,000 meters, which consumes a lot of physical energy and is prone to altitude sickness such as dizziness and nausea. Elderly people with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases should pay special attention to it. ‼ ️
2️⃣If you want to take a photo with the Swiss flag with Jungfrau printed on it, you need to queue up as early as possible.
3️⃣When taking the cog train going down the mountain, the staff will hand out free chocolates in Jungfrau’s exclusive packaging, so remember to ask for them.
