This dramatic footbridge gives you the dreamiest views over lush waterfalls and turquoise streams. Total IG photo vibes! Next stop: Belvédère Saint Jean (39210 Rue Saint-Jean, Château-Chalon, France). This viewpoint will have you saying “WOW” nonstop—the entire Jura valley stretches out right in front of you. Unreal panorama alert! 😍 We kept the adventure rolling at the Reculée de Baume les Messieurs (Baume accueil, Baume-les-Messieurs, France). Surrounded by crazy limestone cliffs and green forests, hiking here feels like you’re in a real-life nature documentary. Don’t miss the Escalier de la Cascade de Baume les Messieurs (Qur sur Roches, 39570 Baume-les-Messieurs, France). This epic staircase leads you right up alongside the cascades—prepare to get misted and love every second of it. The Baume Caves (Lieu dit les Grottes, 39210 Baume-les-Messieurs, France) are open year-round (10:00–18:00), serving total mystical vibes. We climbed even more at the Escalier de la Grotte and made our final stop at the Belvedere des Roches in Crancot. Both were pure perfection for jaw-dropping Jura landscapes—bring those hiking shoes! Good morning, everyone! This trip to Besançon, France, was half about following the footsteps of film and literature, and half about taking in the ancient architecture to gather some inspiration for my art classes, haha. We stayed at the Ibis Besançon Centre la City by the Doubs River. Even though it's a mid-scale chain hotel, their buffet breakfast really blew me away! Everyone knows that the croissant is the soul of a French breakfast. The flaky layers of their croissants were absolutely incredible, and paired with a piping hot cappuccino, it made for the most authentic French morning. There were also those little shell-shaped Madeleines—super tiny, cute, and just looking at them was healing. I couldn't resist grabbing a couple extra. What's most special is that the buffet here has a great local touch, surprisingly offering Comté and Morbier cheeses, which are specialties of the Franche-Comté region. Although the strong flavor of the cheese might be a bit much for our Singaporean stomachs, slicing off a small piece to pair with a baguette and some white ham is actually incredibly flavorful. You guys definitely have to be brave and give it a try when you visit! Here’s a sneaky little tip: the cereal section has walnuts and dried fruits, so you can easily grab a handful to take with you. Since the hotel’s location is super prime, it’s incredibly convenient to just walk straight over to the Old Town and the Vauban Citadel after filling up. Climbing the citadel takes quite a bit of energy, so they're the perfect snack to pull out when you get tired on the way! If you're also planning a stroll through this low-key but gorgeous French town, the breakfast at this hotel offers fantastic value for money. Highly recommend it!
