When it comes to Mount Fuji hot spring accommodation, everyone will think of ubuya
#besthotels
When it comes to Mount Fuji hot spring accommodation, everyone will think of ubuya (Figure 1-6) . And indeed, these two are hotels with very high cost-effectiveness and experience preferences in the local area. Both of them are very popular, and often people are confused about how to choose between these two$ Both hotels are located on the banks of the river in Lake Kawaguchi, about 200 meters apart with stunning views. Several girlfriends have booked a round table saying that this is what they are satisfied with. The location of the affluent mountain hotel is the same. Both hotels offer unobstructed views of the beautiful scenery of Lake Kawaguchi, but the decoration is different now. Kukuna has a youthful Japanese style Nanyang style, with three venue room types, except for the observation hall with private soup of 50m (up to 2 people) and 57m (grass can accommodate 4 people). However, fortunately, regardless of whether there is private soup or not, each room in the hotel has an outdoor balcony. Check in time: 00, check-out time: 11:00. Looking at the rooms:

㊙️ This time, our travel destination is the beautiful Kawaguchi Lake. Here, not only can you see the magnificent Mount Fuji under the blessing of the god of luck, but there are also many cute duck-shaped pedal boats waiting to accompany you for a leisurely time on the lake!
🗻 Upon arriving at Kawaguchi Lake, we headed straight to the rental booth by the lake and found those adorable duck-shaped pedal boats. These boats are super cute, looking like they walked straight out of a cartoon, making you fall in love at first sight. We quickly completed the rental procedures, and the staff kindly taught us how to use them.
🦢 Eagerly stepping onto the pedal boat, we started gliding on the lake with the gentle sound of paddling. Surrounded by green trees and distant mountains, the whole scenery looked like a painting. While riding, we occasionally stopped to take photos, capturing these beautiful moments. Sometimes, small fish swam beside our boat, making us feel so close to nature. After a while of riding, we rested at a lakeside café and enjoyed the local delicacies. The fresh fish dishes and handmade ice cream were delightful surprises.

A Lucky Encounter with Mount Fuji at Lake Kawaguchi
Catching a clear view of Mount Fuji can feel like winning the travel lottery. On my recent trip to Lake Kawaguchi, I was fortunate enough to experience one of those rare, perfect days where the elusive peak revealed itself.
The day started out cloudy, and I was ready to accept that Fuji might not make an appearance. But as I strolled along the lakeside, the clouds began to part, and slowly, Mount Fuji’s snow-capped peak emerged. It felt like a gift from nature, and the sight was absolutely breathtaking. The mountain stood tall and majestic, reflected beautifully on the calm waters of the lake.
Seeing Mount Fuji in such perfect conditions is a moment that stays with you. The crisp air, the stillness of the water, and the sheer beauty of the view created a serene atmosphere that I’ll never forget. I sat by the lake, taking it all in, grateful for the luck that brought me this view on such a clear day.
Other visitors around me shared the same excitement, snapping photos and savoring the rare moment. It was like we had all witnessed something truly special.
If you’re planning a visit to Lake Kawaguchi, keep your hopes high and your camera ready. Even if Fuji doesn’t reveal itself right away, the peaceful lakeside setting is worth the trip. And who knows—you might just be as lucky as I was.

Hospitality at Shoji Lake Hotel 🏨
#hospitality
Our stay at the Shoji Lake Hotel was truly memorable. The hospitality was exceptional, making us feel right at home. Our room had a lovely view of Mount Fuji, but we weren't very lucky with the weather, as Fuji was hiding in the clouds. Nonetheless, the serene surroundings made for a relaxing experience.
The hotel boasts traditional Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats and futons, offering a cozy and authentic experience.

Amazing Road Trip to Aokigahara Forest 🚙
#roadtrips
We recently embarked on an unforgettable road trip to Aokigahara Forest, also known as the Sea of Trees. This mystical forest, located at the base of Mount Fuji, is renowned for its lush greenery, unique rock formations, and tranquil atmosphere.
We chose to rent a car because it can be quite challenging to get there by public transport. This way, we also had the opportunity to explore the four caves located in the area, which would have been difficult to visit otherwise.
‼️Aokigahara is easily accessible by car, with ample parking available near the entrance.

Epic Road Trip Around Fuji's Five Lakes 🗻
#roadtrips
We just had the most amazing road trip exploring Fuji’s Five Lakes—Yamanaka, Kawaguchi, Saiko, Shoji, and Motosu!
We had some bad luck with the weather—Mount Fuji was hiding in the clouds during our entire road trip around the Five Lakes. Even though we missed out on the iconic Fuji view, the lakes were still absolutely stunning, with peaceful nature all around.

Hoshinoya Fuji in Japan! You won't know how amazing it is until you stay there!
My stay at Hoshinoya Fuji was a combination of natural beauty and minimalist design. The hotel is located at the foot of Mount Fuji, and the minimalist concrete private cabins blend in with the natural surroundings, allowing you to enjoy the magnificent view of Mount Fuji during the day 🌅 and at night 🎑.
Especially during the maple leaf season, the entire environment is like a beautiful painting, and you can take amazing photos 📷 anywhere.
If you stay in winter, the experience will be full of a strong seasonal atmosphere. Drinking hot mulled wine 🍷 in the snow, curling up in the kotatsu on the balcony at night, listening to the crackling of the fire, these are all warm and enjoyable experiences in winter. The forest trail 🚶 in the early morning is quiet and beautiful, and hot milk tea and roasted marshmallows are prepared for you at the end, making you feel comfortable.
In addition to the above activities, the hotel offers a variety of experiences every day, such as chopping wood 🪵, bonfires 🔥, boating, and music performances. Even if you don't leave the hotel, you can have a fulfilling time.
But speaking of the disadvantages, for older guests 😭, the design of the hotel may be inconvenient, especially there are many steps to the activity area and the restaurant, and it feels a bit strenuous every time you go to eat. 😭
As for transportation, it is an 8-minute walk from the Kawaguchiko Bus 🚌 Terminal to the hotel. The hotel does not provide a shuttle bus.
I think Kukuna is the most holiday-like hotel under Mount Fuji! .
Arrived at KUKUNA🏨 at about 5 pm, the receptionist greeted us kindly and we drank drinks and rested on the sofa in the lobby, waiting for the exclusive butler to help us check in and lead us to the room for introduction.
This time I booked the "Sky Terrace" of the Observatory with an open-air bath. The space is 40㎡, the Japanese-style room is 10 tatami mats, and there are two meals a night, and the dinner is teppanyaki.
When the door of the room is opened, there is a porch space, and then there is a cabinet for placing quilts, a refrigerator, a toilet, and a dressing room. After opening the door, it is the real room.
The room is very large, with Japanese-style tables and chairs in the middle. When we go to dinner, the hotel staff will come in and move the tables and chairs to help make the bed. Looking out is the view of Mount Fuji🗻, which is fully presented in front of you.
Kukuna breakfast🍱 is a buffet-style Japanese and Western breakfast, with a variety of dishes, a nine-grid plate for easy access to various small dishes, and the tray is also shaped like Mount Fuji!
I got up before dawn, and I soaked two soups♨️. This day is also considered to be soaked until I am hungry. I think every dish is quite delicious, big and small. I ate such a big plate for breakfast, with the blue sky and white clouds outside the window. The view of Mount Fuji is really happy!
We are satisfied with everything on the day we stayed at Kukuna, eating enough, sleeping well, and soaking in the hot springs until we are tired. We are lucky to see Mount Fuji and the reverse Mount Fuji. It turns out that Mount Fuji is not the same from morning to night. The same, never tire of watching, next time I want to pick spring to appreciate the different Mount Fuji.
Tokyo Trip: Famous Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji! Recommended Gyukatsu Restaurant!
On this trip to Tokyo, we visited the famous Lake Kawaguchi! Lake Kawaguchi is renowned as one of the best spots to view Mt. Fuji. During our visit, we also discovered a fantastic restaurant! The restaurant is called Koshuya, which specializes in gyukatsu (beef cutlet). We ordered a gyukatsu set meal, which had a generous portion of beef. The beef was very tender, with a crispy exterior and a soft interior! The set meal costs 2000 yen, which is very reasonable! If you visit Lake Kawaguchi, you should definitely give it a try! The restaurant's decor is also nice, with a strong Japanese vibe!

Additionally, there are many accommodations, restaurants, and cultural sites nearby, making it a popular destination for both tourists and locals.
Aokigahara: The “Cursed” Forest of Japan 🌳
#forest
Aokigahara, also known as the Sea of Trees, is infamous not only for its dense beauty but also for its dark reputation as the "cursed" forest of Japan. Nestled at the northwest base of Mount Fuji, this sprawling forest is shrouded in mystery, folklore, and tragedy. Over time, it has earned a reputation for being haunted, with stories of lost spirits, or yūrei, wandering through the forest’s shadowy depths.
The thick canopy and jagged volcanic landscape contribute to the eerie stillness of Aokigahara. While the forest is rich with natural beauty, featuring ancient trees, lava caves, and a unique ecosystem, it is also linked to more tragic associations, amplifying its "cursed" status.

A Tranquil Trip to Lake Kawaguchi, Japan
In the early autumn of September, Lake Kawaguchi becomes a perfect getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The scenes captured in the photos perfectly depict the tranquility and beauty of Lake Kawaguchi. In the early morning or evening, a light mist gently covers the mountains, the lake surface sparkles, and the lights of distant hotels and inns begin to glow, creating a scene reminiscent of an ink painting.
Located in Yamanashi Prefecture, Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and an excellent spot to admire the beauty of Mount Fuji. Although Mount Fuji was shrouded in clouds on this day, obscuring its majestic view, it did not diminish the charm of Lake Kawaguchi. On the contrary, the mist added a touch of mystery and poetry to the lakeside scenery. Walking along the lakeshore, you can feel the surrounding tranquility, with the lake water like a mirror reflecting the faint mountain scenery, as if time has stood still here.
The temperature at Lake Kawaguchi in September is moderate, neither as hot as summer nor as cold as winter, making it one of the most comfortable seasons of the year. During this time, the natural scenery around the lake remains lush and green, and as autumn approaches, the surrounding maple leaves will gradually turn red, heralding the arrival of a beautiful autumn season.
In addition to enjoying the natural scenery, the hot spring inns around Lake Kawaguchi are also not to be missed. Staying in a hot spring inn facing the lake, soaking in the steaming hot springs, and admiring the picturesque lake and mountain scenery outside the window is undoubtedly a relaxation and healing for the body and mind.
Whether you are simply looking for a quiet retreat or hoping to explore the beauty of nature, a September trip to Lake Kawaguchi will bring you endless surprises and joy.

Kawaguchiko Cable Car Travel Diary: The View from Above is Unforgettable!
This time on my Tokyo trip, I visited the very famous nearby attraction—Lake Kawaguchi. Located in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Yamanashi Prefecture, Lake Kawaguchi is a large lake with stunning and breathtaking scenery. The cable car is one of the unique attractions here. Taking the cable car up, you can see the entire lake, with the blue sky reflecting off the water, creating a beautiful mirror image! The view from above is truly unforgettable!
The cable car fare is 900 Yen for a round trip and 500 Yen for a one-way trip. If you love Japan, don't miss this attraction!
Kukuna is a hotel that you can't go wrong with if you want to see Mount Fuji.
Yes, it's a hotel that you'll regret not staying at! When I first found out about this hotel, I was hesitant because of the price and the fact that it wasn't snow season when I was going. But the more I researched and read about it, the more I was determined to experience it for myself. Who knows when I'll be able to come back?
Kukuna has a Southeast Asian island 🌊 style
Each room even comes with an open-air balcony
You can lie in the balcony's thought hall and gaze at Mount Fuji in the distance
Some room types even have a foot bath next to them
Drinking a beverage while soaking your feet is a truly wonderful feeling!
🛏️ All three room types come with an open-air balcony, and you can enjoy unobstructed views of Mount Fuji. The only difference is whether the room comes with a private bath!
🍱 Dining: Breakfast is buffet style, and I highly recommend choosing dinner! The teppanyaki is as good as any restaurant, so foodies can rest assured and go for it!! After the dishes are served, you can go to the buffet area to choose special dishes, fruit 🍎 desserts, etc., all of which are very fresh.
✨ What's even more surprising is the large open-air hot spring "Mahina" on the top floor of KUKUNA, which is affectionately known as the "floating hot spring"♨️. It seems to blend in with Lake Kawaguchi, and you can almost touch the lake water. The atmosphere is full.

No matter how many times you visit Tokyo, you must capture Mount Fuji! This time, I was lucky to get a shot of Mount Fuji in May, so I hope to share it with everyone. The locations are not hard to find at all.
P1: Yume no Ohashi Bridge
P2: Fuji City (a must-pass through when traveling from Tokyo to Lake Kawaguchi, surrounded by Mount Fuji, hence the name Fuji City)
P3: Midori no Tenboudai (a newly popular photo spot for Mount Fuji in recent years)
P4-P5: Heading to Lake Kawaguchi for photos
P6: New Century Lake Kawaguchi Fuji Hotel
P7-8: Tenjoyama Park
P9: Oishi Park
No matter how many photos you take of Mount Fuji, it's never enough. I hope to visit again in winter and find even more photo spots.
