Lord Iesada liked the taste so much that he named them "Kushi-dango". They were sold at the ticket machine for 200 yen for two skewers. This year, it will be held from Saturday, May 24th to Sunday, August 31st, 2025 This Niomon Gate is a nationally designated important cultural property. It is said that the world will change when you pass through the gate. This is a majestic and magnificent three-bay, one-door tower gate, worthy of being the main gate of Hotasan. The fresh greenery of the trees is refreshing, and after walking for a while, a gate made of cypress appears on your left. The "Kuromon" is also registered as a city designated architectural cultural property. Today, there is only one temple at Hotasan, Son'ei-ji, but in the past, there were as many as 12 temples lined up within the grounds. The central presence among them was "Gakutoin Shobo." It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the Niomon Gate to the main hall. The rows of cedar trees and green maples are wonderful, and I think the autumn leaves are a spectacular sight. Wind chimes add a refreshing sound to the Japanese summer. In the summer at Hotasan, wind chimes are displayed all over the corridors and Tsubasa Hall, and the pleasant sounds are soothing. In the main hall, "wishing wind chimes" are displayed, on which you can write your wishes on wooden strips of paper. The inside of the east wing to the right of the main hall is surrounded by a blackout curtain and lit up with transparent wind chimes. When you face the main hall, you will see the Chatan-ji Hall on the right. Many colorful wind chimes are hanging like beads, and the polka dots and pastel colors are very cute. This is the hall that used to be the main hall. Although faded, the compass of the Guardian of the Zodiac, which is displayed on the ceiling inside the hall, is magnificent. I went there for Stray Kids' concert. It was a 20 minute climb from the station, plus stairs. There were traffic restrictions on the way back, so it took nearly 2 hours to get to the station and catch the train.

I visited in April and was absolutely blown away by the sea of blooming shibazakura (pink moss)! The vibrant pink carpet across the temple grounds was beyond soothing—it’s the kind of view that makes you want to just sit and breathe it all in. The temple itself has a serene, sacred atmosphere, and when it’s paired with the colorful flowers, it feels like stepping into a spring dream. Ecopa Stadium This was my first time visiting Ecopa Stadium in Shizuoka. I went there to see Mr.Children's live performance, and it was a really nice stadium. The reason is that there was a lot of greenery around, so I felt very natural. Previously introduced for its wind chime festival and hydrangeas, Hattasan Soneiji Temple offers a charming tunnel of teru teru bozu during the rainy season. When I visited in 2022, the teru teru bozu were colorful as shown in the photos. Although I didn't get good pictures, when I visited in 2023, the blue gradient gave a different atmosphere! With 1,200 teru teru bozu decorating the entrance gate of Hattasan Soneiji Temple, you can enjoy temple visits even during the gloomy rainy season, so I highly recommend it. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of gradient teru teru bozu tunnel will be there next year. Last time, we introduced the summer wind chime festival at Hattasan Son-ei-ji Temple. Not only in summer, but during the rainy season, the temple is a wonderful place with displays of hydrangeas and umbrellas. The best time to visit is from mid to late June, when the hydrangeas bloom in beautiful shades of blue, purple, and pink. They start blooming around late May, so it might be a good idea to visit before the rainy season fully sets in! There are about 3,000 hydrangea plants 🫢. Cute umbrellas are also displayed around the hydrangeas, making it a perfect spot for photos 📸. It's a recommended spot for a weekend girls' trip! It's been getting quite cold lately, so here's a post to look forward to summer 😆 Hattasan Soneiji Temple in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture. In the summer, a wind chime festival is held, and the temple is adorned with wind chimes, a symbol of summer 🎐 Colorful and variously designed wind chimes welcome visitors, and their beautiful sounds resonate throughout the temple 🤍 There are said to be as many as 4,000 wind chimes 🫢 My personal recommendation is the wind chime illumination. The glowing wind chimes were simply stunning!! Even in the height of summer, listening to the sound of the wind chimes makes you feel a bit cooler! If you're traveling on a slow train, such as on a Seishun 18 Ticket trip, wouldn't you like to cut down on accommodation costs? As an example, I'd like to show you accommodation in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture. First of all, the closer you are to the downtown area or city center, the higher the price, or the more popular it is and the more likely it is to be fully booked. In contrast, Aino Station has a large stadium and is a popular spot when there are events, but it's also a good place to visit in the off-season. However, if you use it incorrectly, you'll end up with nothing to do and you'll be on your smartphone all the time at the hotel, so it's best to schedule a late arrival at your accommodation and only stay overnight after you've had enough fun at the tourist spots. I like discovering new towns like this and want to explore the area, so I try to get off with plenty of time to spare.
