The Gokoku Shrine is Shinto (an ancient religion unique to Japan) and it is located in the Main Compound of Hiroshima Castle’s grounds. However, it has not always stood here. It was originally established in the late 19th century, during the Meiji Period. The Shrine was created to honor those who lost their lives in war, specifically the Boshin War, the war that ended the shogunate system and returned power to the Imperial government. Since then, it has been a place to honor and mourn those lost in any war. For a long time, this Shrine was located close to the old baseball stadium, right next to where The Peace Memorial Park is today. The atomic bomb in 1945 destroyed the Shrine along with everything else and it was rebuilt on Hiroshima Castle grounds in 1956.

I visited Tomonoura, a nostalgic port town in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, in search of beautiful scenery😊 This port town, which has been used as a location for movies and dramas, is as beautiful as rumored, and I was continuously moved☺️ The Joyato (photos 2 and 8) is the symbol of this port town. I wanted to capture this scenery!! It was a picturesque view❤︎ The first and fifth photos were taken with a telephoto lens from Io-ji Temple📸 The view from here was also spectacular🥹 The alleys a little inland from the port are very nostalgic (photo 7). The main keep site of Mihara Castle is where Mihara Station of the Sanyo Shinkansen is located. Stone walls remain under the station's elevated tracks. ◼︎Mihara Castle Funairi Yagura Ruins Mihara Castle opened towards the sea, functioning as both a castle and a military port. It was built utilizing small islands along the coast. The stone walls of the Funairi Yagura Ruins still show the foundation made from reefs. ◼︎Akitakata City History and Folklore Museum There is a section dedicated to Mōri Motonari, with detailed introductions to the Mōri clan through models and videos of Kōriyama Castle. It is recommended to visit this museum along with the Kōriyama Castle ruins. The back of the building serves as the entrance to the Kōriyama Castle site.

I was excited to think, "Oh, Sanjo Sanetomi sat here too!" ·͜· ♡ The Nakamura family originally made their fortune selling "Homeishu," a medicinal sake invented by a Chinese medicine doctor from Osaka. The large storehouse is well preserved in a very impressive tatami room. It's also great that the attendant will give you a brief history explanation when you enter. I was surprised at how modern the earthen floor and ceiling were. Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture Blow away all your worries [Ushiroyama Park East Observatory] Location: 252-89 Notohara, Numakuma-cho, Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture We were blessed with fine weather, so we sped off to Ushiroyama Park. It's located at a moderate climb up the mountain. There were a lot of people touring there. We parked our car in the large parking lot, and after climbing a few stairs, we reached the observation deck. The view from the observation deck was spectacular! You can see the Seto Inland Sea. You'll forget about time. Nature is the best after all. It was refreshing. Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture Hamburger made with domestic meat and no additives [Imo Batake] Address: 4177-1 Mizunomi-cho, Fukuyama City The shop is located on the corner of a residential area and is smaller than I expected. I ordered the most popular BLT cheeseburger set. The meat juice was so thick that it would spill if I didn't eat it while sucking it. You can choose from stick potatoes, crescent potatoes, and potato chips. The mango juice was rich and delicious. The weather was nice and pleasant that day, so we decided to eat in a nearby park. I also wanted to eat a croissant. It was just freshly baked. As they said, "Our croissants are packed with filling," the croissants here seemed "heavy." During a business trip to Hiroshima, I went to an amusement park near my hotel on Sunday. I got a free admission ticket from the hotel. Miroku-no-Sato is an amusement park with attractions, a facility called "Dinosaur Park" that is like a dinosaur version of a haunted house, and even a facility called "The Road We Came From Somewhere," which is like a retro Showa-era movie set. I stayed here when I went on a business trip to Hiroshima Prefecture. Tokushima is a shipbuilding town. It's near the ferry terminal. Nearby there is an amusement park called "Miroku-no-Sato" and a bathing facility called "Shinshoji Onsen Showa-no-Yu". However, although there is a convenience store, you can't go to restaurants without a car. (There is a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel) I had no particular inconveniences staying there, but I wonder if the parking lot is on the shipbuilding facility's premises? This is Fukuyama Castle, towering in front of Fukuyama Station. This year marks the 400th anniversary of the castle's construction, and it has been renovated and completed. When I stopped by in October, I was impressed by its beautiful appearance, which I couldn't help but visit. As you would expect from the city of roses, roses 🌹 were blooming around Fukuyama Castle. I was drawn to the sign that said "Seasonal Fruit Daifuku" and entered the store. There are many kinds of daifuku and dango. When I was undecided, the staff explained carefully. They make each one by hand with love according to the season. The strawberry daifuku was chewy, soft and delicious! When I visited, I was told that it was their 28th anniversary. I think it would be a great gift for relatives and friends.
