For this underwater museum|I flew to Chongqing
|I flew to Chongqing. I saw this museum online before, and it really shocked me. A museum can be built in the water. For this museum hidden in the river, I specifically flew to Chongqing.
Baiheliang recorded more than 1200 years of hydrological information from the Tang Dynasty to 1963, and many literati and ink guests inscribed here. Whether it is local in Chongqing or friends who come to travel from other places, I personally think this museum is worth coming.
The entire museum is not big, it is divided into an above-water exhibition hall and an underwater exhibition hall built 40 meters underwater. You need to take a 91-meter escalator to reach the heart of the river. There are staff members who explain for free throughout the journey.
About the history of Baiheliang
Baiheliang was originally in the center of the Yangtze River, a natural stone beam about 1600 meters long and 16 meters wide
During the flood season, it will be submerged. During the dry season, Baiheliang will be exposed. The ancients discovered this and carved stone fish on Baiheliang. to record hydrological information. "Stone fish out of the water" means that the coming year is a good year for harvest. During the dry season, the stone fish exposed the surface and attracted many literati and ink guests to come here to "check in" and my fellow villager Huang Tingjian, it is really my honor.
In 2003, after the Three Gorges Dam was impounded, Baiheliang was submerged. In order to protect the Baiheliang site, this underwater museum was built!
⚠️Precautions:
Because the environment of the underwater museum is special, it will not be open during the flood season, and it will be regularly inspected. Be sure to check the real-time information before you go!
