When I go travelling, I love to explore the beauty of mural arts in different countries. I was attracted by the colourful mural arts in Kampung Ketandan, Surabaya as I took a walking tour around this village. I realised all villagers will push their motorcycles while entering the lane along this village. I stayed in this hotel several times as a kid with my family. It's located conveniently at the heart of the city and behind the first mall in Surabaya, Surabaya Plaza (Delta Plaza). This hotel was at first a Radisson Hotel, before the management changed twice until now, it's called Surabaya Suites Hotel. When I stepped foot at the lobby, I could definitely feel the classic touch, even the mesmerizing statue and the architecture wasn't changed a bit. I waited a little for my room (business type) to be prepared. And when I entered the room, I felt like I was in a time capsule. The room was exactly how I remembered it, after around 20 years ago. They still use their initial furniture, but surprisingly they were still in good shape. I felt nostalgic. One of the things that I think should be changed was the shower head, because it was too old, too many minerals build up, and didn't look nice at all. And they need to work harder on the cleanliness, because the carpets felt dusty under my feet. But me and my family had a great night sleep as the room was calm and quiet, and we sure had a moment to remember!

An incident occurred early in the morning around 2 AM—though the room was already booked, it turned out one of the staff members was using it. Upon checking, the hotel staff found all other rooms were fully occupied as of August 12. However, they immediately offered a solution by directing us to a nearby hotel with one remaining room. It was impressive how thoughtful and accommodating they were, staying polite and supportive even when we were fatigued at such an hour.

I stayed in a Deluxe Suite at DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya and overall had a pretty enjoyable experience. The room size was spacious, featuring a separate living room from the bedroom area, adding comfort both for resting and entertaining guests. The bathroom was modern and well-equipped. One standout feature was the large glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom that could turn opaque using a remote control, combining modernity with functionality. During my stay, I had access to the Executive Lounge. The facilities offered were decent, including high tea and evening cocktails—an added value for guests in certain room categories. However, I felt the service at the Executive Lounge could be improved. At certain times, the staffing felt insufficient, and the level of hospitality and attention towards guests did not fully meet the standards I usually expect from an Executive Lounge in an international hotel. For breakfast, the food options were quite varied with a broad menu selection. However, compared to some of my previous visits, I noticed a slight decline in the quality of taste and dish consistency. The food was still good but didn't quite leave the same remarkable impression I had during my earlier stays. The parking area was a major strength of this hotel. With a large multi-story parking facility, finding a spot was effortless, which is a significant plus for hotels in a bustling city like Surabaya. Overall, DoubleTree by Hilton Surabaya remains a comfortable choice with spacious rooms, good amenities, and a convenient location for various activities in the city. Some areas of service, particularly at the Executive Lounge, and the breakfast quality could be enhanced to align more consistently with Hilton's high standards.

Regarding breakfast at the Platinum Restaurant, the food was very tasty and suited my palate. Despite my hectic time at the restaurant, I was happily assisted by Ms. Joce, who helped me get some orders for myself and my child. Wishing great health to Ms. Joce always!

The service was great, the room was clean, and there were plenty of promotions. The breakfast was delicious with many options. They also offered lots of vouchers for snacks. There was free karaoke and a fantastic hangout spot with an amazing view. Upon arrival, our luggage was immediately taken care of, and we were greeted very warmly.

A fantastic and charming hotel with a fascinating historical background. The Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles immediately transport you back to the early 20th century. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the rooms are very comfortable. Diego gave us and our daughters a fantastic tour of the historic hotel, showing us the Merdeka room, the famous flagpole, the Charlie Chaplin room, and the ballroom. An unforgettable stay. Worth every star.

It was quite enjoyable here; the service, food, and property were all good. However, one area that could use improvement is the knowledge of the internal team. Sometimes, they seemed unsure about simple basic information when asked questions.

I stayed here for 2 days and 2 nights. Overall, everything was great. The staff were very friendly and proactive in encouraging customers to try out all the available facilities. I met Mr. Johan, who worked at the gym center and sauna-jacuzzi, and the service provided was excellent. Even small details were well attended to, such as providing plastic bags in the pool area. However, it might be time to replace the pool towels. Lastly, it would be wonderful if the kids' play area were upgraded with better facilities and newer toys.
