First Experience Sleeping Over at the Georgia Aquarium
During the day, this place is bustling with tourists, but after closing time, the crowds disperse, leaving only dim blue lighting and the sound of flowing water. Lying in front of the massive viewing window, watching stingrays, sharks, and schools of fish slowly glide overhead, truly feels like sleeping in an underwater world.
Waking up in the early hours, the sight of marine life quietly swimming by remains unchanged, and the entire space is serene, with only the shimmering light of water waves. Compared to a regular hotel, this feels more like a childhood dream adventure—laying out a sleeping bag in an aquarium and spending a night as neighbors with the ocean.
Sleep Under the Sea ✔️
This is probably the most unique night I've ever spent.
💡 The aquarium provides mats, so you only need to bring your pillow and blanket!
💡 Before bedtime (around 9 PM), they hand out a few bags of snacks, and there’s a simple breakfast arrangement when you wake up (you’ll need to get up at 6:15 AM) (breakfast is shown in photo 14). They also provide sleep masks, which you can take home.
💡 Sleeping areas are assigned by your team leader (so far, I know of two: 1. Whale Shark Gallery, 2. Underwater Tunnel Gallery). You cannot choose your own spot.
💡 The adults-only sleepover event happens once a year, but you can usually book a family sleepover.
You can directly reserve the Sleep Under the Sea experience at the Georgia Aquarium. The sleepover schedule is shown in the last photo, so check it out if you’re interested.
‼️ Atlanta doesn’t have much to offer, so if you’re coming just for this event, a one-day round trip is enough!
