Service is outstanding, with a personalized touch and a convenient WhatsApp group connecting directly to the front desk. The warm milk and cookies are a delightful bonus. The photobooth is a lovely touch, giving you a photo keepsake. The hotel offers luxury at every turn—truly enjoyed the entire experience.

We've visited this hotel several times before while staying at other places in the city, but this time we decided to book a room here. The hotel is excellent, with a stylish, modern room that we were upgraded to upon arrival. Amenities included a safe, fridge, iron, hairdryer, and a powerful shower—the water in the shower was at a great temperature, though the basin only offered lukewarm water, which wasn’t ideal for shaving. The rooftop bar was lovely and contemporary, with reasonably priced drinks. The hotel also features a bowling alley and a gym. While we’ve stayed at Yotel Edinburgh before, we found the Glasgow hotel to be much nicer. However, the Edinburgh location offers complimentary morning tea and coffee, which Glasgow does not. The reception staff were very friendly, especially the young blonde receptionist. We've already booked our next stay—thank you!

Especially the extra-large bed, which was just the right firmness—once you lie down, you don’t want to get up. The room also had special children’s amenities, like colorful picture books and toys, which my daughter enjoyed immensely. At night, we used the free WiFi to video call family and share the wonderful moments of the day. 🧖‍♀️ Treat yourself to the spa The hotel’s spa was definitely a highlight! I booked a full-body massage, and the therapist’s technique was very professional, making the whole experience very relaxing. Besides massages, you can also choose body treatments and facials for a comprehensive relaxation experience. If you, like me, enjoy soaking, the hotel’s indoor pool and hot tub are great options. The pool temperature was just right, and soaking in it made me feel much more relaxed. 🍽️ A culinary journey starting with breakfast The hotel charges for breakfast, but it’s truly worth it. Every morning from 7 to 10 AM, the hotel offers a full breakfast with a wide variety of options, including Western-style breakfast and local specialties. I especially recommend the seafood at the iasg restaurant—fresh and delicious, definitely worth trying. If you don’t want to go out, there’s also 24-hour room service so you can enjoy your meal slowly in your room. Overall, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel is truly a great choice for families. Whether it’s the location, facilities, or service, everything was very satisfying. Next time I come to Glasgow, I will definitely choose this hotel again!

We arrived at the City Chambers around 1:45pm to ensure we were early enough to secure tickets for the 2:30pm free tour, knowing there are limited spots available. It was certainly worth arriving early and waiting for the tour to begin, as it turned out to be highly engaging. The building's interior feels quite un-Scottish—reminiscent of the grandeur of the Palace of Versailles, with splendid marble, gilt, lofty ceilings, and fascinating Pompeii-like tilework decorating the floors and even some ceilings. It contrasts so sharply with the practical, no-frills image I typically associate with Scots (aside from their stunning scenery). Our tour guide was excellent, sharing numerous interesting tidbits about the history of this functional building. Though I’ll admit, I didn’t notice many people actively working—I suppose they were tucked behind the elegant doors, hard at work! The guide also explained the activities within the Chambers. Overall, it’s a thoroughly intriguing place to explore for an hour or two.

Taking a cruise from Glasgow to Belfast only costs £25 (just need a railcard). You can buy tickets directly on Trainpal from Glasgow Central to Belfast Port, the whole trip takes about 6 hours. Just follow the crowd whenever you transfer trains. Although there are many transfers which can be a bit troublesome, the whole journey is really enjoyable—feeling the sea breeze and watching the scenery. It’s been a long time since I took a cruise 🛳️ and I still love the feeling of floating on the ocean, being firmly supported by the earth 🥰. In Belfast, I booked a Giant’s Causeway day tour with McComb (around £200). We gathered at the city center at 8:30 AM and returned around 5:30 PM. The driver made sure everyone got off at every stop 😂 to deeply experience each attraction, and shared lots of interesting stories along the way. Luckily, the weather was great that day and the scenery was absolutely stunning! The bus ride was never boring. Every stop was also great for photos. I’m falling more in love with my Olympus camera 📷. The Giant’s Causeway is on a very high cliff by the sea, with super strong winds making my hair fly wildly. Climbing up was tough—I really felt like Arya Stark on the run 🤣. But the view with the naked eye really looked like the White Cliffs hh. Since we had over an hour to explore the Giant’s Causeway, after coming down we went to a nearby hotel bar to have some hot chocolate ☕️ to warm up completely.

This city is underrated but I love it for its amazing buildings like those in the Scottish Events Campus (SEC). THe Clyde Arch bridge is amazing to look at and walking along the River Clyde is a breeze! Surrounding it and the SEC are very nice hotels. Transport in Glasgow is also easy and could reach Edinburgh in less than an #travel hour via Glasgow Queen Street Station. Glasgow is a less expensive place but rich in heritage. The City Centre is huge and for me, shopping is better here. There are also loads of very nice restaurants. At night, the place is very much alive and walking around is not dangerous as opposed to what I have heard about it. I didn’t manage to see Glasgow Uni which is a topnotch and beautiful university but I will come back!😍❤️😍

It’s free to enter, and you’ll likely spend a couple of hours here, feeling a sense of escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. The garden itself is beautiful, with ample green space for relaxation and peacefulness. The greenhouses are wonderful, have lots of interesting plants which are thoughtfully laid out to create beautiful displays. There are also a lot of statues and history in the main greenhouse. There’s an ongoing list of bars, restaurants and museums to visit but here are few that I recommend Innis & Gunn Brewing Co - Taproom with an array of beers to offer, the original from a whiskey casks is a personal favourite Jinty McGuintys - Lively Irish bar with food and live music every day, they pour a great Guinness The pot still - Family run bar with hundreds of malt whiskey and lots of knowledge to share MacSorleys- Recently won pub of the year! Traditional Scottish pub with food and live music daily, really welcoming, great service. The University Cafe - You can get yourself the ‘Anthony Bourdain Special’ which is his same order from when he visited the cafe. They also have old skool pick n mix sweets and ice cream at the counter, it’s like stepping back in time! Mother India Restaurant - If you love Indian food I simply suggest that you go here, it’s incredible. Waxy O’Connors - It doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you’re in it’s like falling down a rabbit hole, inspired by a labyrinth you’re sure to get lost after a few drinks. Live music. Castelvecchi - A 9 minute trip on the train from Glasgow central to Paisley, as fans of Paolo Nutini we couldn’t miss the chance to eat at his (used to be) family run chippy! Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum - Gorgeous gallery to spend a few hours in Botanical Gardens - Large glass houses bursting with plants from all over the world Helpful Tips 500 Bus. We visited the Edinburgh HOG last year and were excited to try the Glasgow location. It was part of a Christmas gift from a hamper I got, which included the 'Treat me like I'm famous' package. We upgraded to a larger room and were pleasantly surprised to receive the suite. The gold roll-top bath was exquisite, and the space was amazing. The rooftop bar offered a different feel from day to night. Cocktails were incredible, and breakfast was delightful. Highly recommend, especially for special occasions.

I visited Glasgow Green in May with my friends and was truly impressed by the park's beauty and tranquility. As one of Glasgow's oldest public parks, it boasts expansive green areas, charming walking trails, and many fascinating places to discover. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling around, lounging on the grass, and breathing in the fresh air. There are plenty of fun activities and sights to see, such as the Doulton Fountain and the People’s Palace. The ambiance was wonderfully calm and pleasant. I highly recommend visiting Glasgow Green—it's an ideal spot to spend the day.

And what is more, you can see this city on a budget. Let me show you how! On arriving into the city at Glasgow’s Central Station, I took a walk around the city centre to take in its many sights on offer. And I mean many. Glasgow has a Victorian heritage, with many of its buildings and architecture dating back to the 1800’s. My first port of call was Princes Square. Built in 1840, this building has now been repurposed as a shopping mall, and it may possibly be one of the most attractive malls in existence. The glass dome with the intricate wooden escalators is a marvel to behold. And make sure you check out the Foucault pendulum on display. This simple device shows the Earth’s rotation on display. An interesting piece of physics that’s free to see! Wandering around Glasgow, there’s plenty of beautiful buildings and architecture on show. There’s also some of the original police boxes on show - a must for fans of Doctor Who! Make sure you also head over to Kelvingrove Park and in particular, the Art Gallery and Museum. The architecture will blow you away and the art on display will keep you occupied for hours. The best thing with this itinerary? Not only is it all under $100 - it’s all free!
