Some places have scams where they overcharge for small quantities (like tea), and after paying at a snack shop, someone may come over asking you to “scratch a lottery ticket.” Somehow, you’ll always “win,” and then they’ll try to sell you jade or other expensive items at a “90% discount” — still costing almost thousand of RMB 😬 I admit, I’m the type who can easily fall for “good deals,” so this was a learning experience for me.
