Traveling the Qinghai-Gansu Loop with kids for 8 days and 7 nights, here’s a super detailed itinerary guide. No detours, very worry-free, capturing all the beautiful scenery and delicious food, making it easy to enjoy even with kids~ Day 1: Land in Xining at 8 PM, half an hour to the hotel. After resting, stroll around Daxin Street Night Market and eat at Dexiao Kangrou Restaurant. Kangrou (roast meat) is a Qinghai specialty, large portions and delicious. The barbecue and yogurt are also amazing. The kids were very satisfied with the food~ Day 2: Depart at 7 AM, drive 3 hours to Heimahe at Qinghai Lake, spend 2 hours there. Visitors from Jiangsu get free tickets and shuttle bus; shuttle bus costs 30 RMB/person. Qinghai Lake is truly beautiful, kids ran and played by the lake~ Drive 1.5 hours to Chaka Town, have a simple lunch. Arrive at Chaka Salt Lake at 3 PM. Tickets bought by Xiao Ma include shuttle and shoe covers for 148 RMB/person. At 3:30 PM, take the small train to the lowest station and explore until 7 PM. Got some salt at the entrance, and the shop sells various local salts and cultural products at reasonable prices~ Drive 15 minutes to Chaka Hotel, then go nearby for dinner~ Day 3: Depart at 7 AM to Chaerhan Salt Lake.
