🗻 The Georgia-Russia Friendship Monument, a significant highlight and must-visit destination, was one of the top spots on our list. 🚘 We stopped here for photos during our drive from Gudauri to Kazbegi. Our driver made sure we had plenty of time to capture the beauty, both inside and outside the monument. He even encouraged us to climb onto the car roof for a wider view. 🏔️ We visited at the end of April, a time when ski resorts were closed due to melting snow. However, there was still enough snow left for us to enjoy and take pictures, especially in the mountainous areas outside the city. 🌬️ The temperature ranged from -4°C to single digits, but the strong winds made it feel much colder. The area was surrounded by snow, and the gusty winds brought an extra chill. ❄️ Before heading up the mountain, our outfit was sufficient for the cold: a heat-tech turtleneck, an outer jacket, and regular long pants. However, as we ascended, the temperature dropped further. We spent over an hour taking photos at this spot before retreating to the car due to the cold. ⭐️ We arrived around 10 AM, and there were very few tourists, allowing us to take photos without crowds. By the time we left, around 11 AM, more groups of tourists had started arriving.

The weather was quite unpredictable—we experienced rain, sunshine, and snow. He even climbed onto the roof for photos! I literally couldn’t stop filming and taking photos even though I did realize that the camera couldn’t capture the uniqueness of the views and experience. The Arch was built on a mountain among mountains in the 1980s to commemorate the friendship between two countries: Georgia and Russia. Some people are skeptical about this monument but even they can’t deny the beauty of the place in general. And it’s definitely a very popular tourist attraction. Apart from the views, the main thing that attracts people there is #paragliding . This activity is seasonal so if you are eager to have the opportunity to fly over the Arch and the #mountains , be sure to visit it somewhere from spring to early autumn. But I must say that it was already chilly there in September. The best way to get there is by car.

1. Gudauri Address - Georgia Highlights - Gudauri (გუდაური) is an area full of ski resorts. It is suitable for people who come to ski (but not suitable for visiting because each resort is far from each other and you have to walk uphill along the road. There is no sidewalk to see and the road is still wet from melting snow, making it not very enjoyable. The taxi uncle drove the German girl to a nearby resort. If anyone comes to ski or stop by, you may have to do your homework on how to get to the accommodation because the taxi uncle does not know much about the accommodation. It may waste time driving to find it. Score - 9

Anyone visiting during New Year's, I recommend being well-equipped with warm clothing. It's incredibly cold! Gloves are a must. It's so cold you'll barely feel anything, but the snow is so fluffy! It's cold, but so beautiful, it's totally worth it!

For anyone going up to Gudari and looking for coffee, I recommend Dunkin' Coffee. It's amazing and really wakes you up! Plus, it's delicious. I was initially worried it would be too sweet, but it exceeded my expectations. The hot latte is superb.

🇬🇪 Driving around Georgia yourself is amazing! It's a comfortable drive, although the roads aren't perfect, but it's still easy to navigate. There are plenty of places to stop and take photos along the way. Gas costs are comparable to Thailand. In the cities, there might be a lot of traffic and honking, but not as much as in Vietnam or India. I highly recommend driving yourself if you're planning a trip to Georgia. Don't worry about food and accommodation costs. The food is similar to some restaurants in Bangkok, around 200 per person per meal, but the portions are huge! Even picky eaters can enjoy it; it's not overly salty like some reviews suggest. Accommodation prices are similar to Thailand. The weather is great. This past April, even though it wasn't peak snow season, the atmosphere was still so beautiful that you had to stop and look. Every corner was filled with views of the white mountains contrasting with the clear sky.
