Review of a 7-day, 6-night Georgia trip
📍 Here's a review of my Georgia trip from April 25 to May 1, 2023. The timing was during the seasonal transition, with snow melting and spring arriving. The weather was quite unpredictable—we experienced rain, sunshine, and snow. It rained lightly almost every day, but luckily, it never lasted the whole day, just brief showers.
💸 Total trip expenses: approximately 52,000 THB
**This is just my share of the costs. All expenses were split among five people, except for flight tickets (booked separately) and shopping expenses.
📍 We traveled as a group of five, flying Qatar Airways both ways with a layover in Doha. Flight tickets ranged from 27k to 32k THB due to booking at different times.
🚐 Itinerary: Tbilisi (1 night) > Gudauri (1 night) > Kazbegi (2 nights) > Tbilisi (2 nights)
We hired a car with a driver-guide for 4 days, as we thought it would be safer than driving ourselves. The cost was all-inclusive, with no hidden fees. Our guide, Merab Kvitsiani, was excellent—he drove skillfully, handled all our luggage (5 people with 24-inch suitcases), and navigated mountain roads without needing to switch vehicles. He even climbed onto the roof for photos! He spoke English, recommended unique attractions, took us to photo spots multiple times, suggested restaurants, and helped translate Georgian for us.
📌 A key benefit was that when locals approached us to take photos with birds or tried to get us into their cars, our guide would politely decline on our behalf, ensuring we weren’t bothered.
**Car rental costs depend on the number of people, cities visited, and duration. You can contact the guide for details.

🔥 Rounded up, the trip cost 50,000 THB—30,000 for flights and 20,000 for everything else.
Additional notes:
- The food at all restaurants was saltier than what we’re used to in Thailand, but not unbearably so. Only the local restaurant in Gudauri was excessively salty. Opting for fusion-style restaurants is a safer bet.
