Guilin's splendid landscape of mountains and water is famous throughout the whole country. Both banks of the clear and sparkling waters of the Li River are lined with strangely shaped boulders and green mountains. You can take a cruise on a bamboo raft. The scenery is absolutely sublime. Guilin’s Elephant Trunk Hill, The Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Spot and Jingjiang Princes’ Palace are the primary scenic spots featuring beautiful surroundings. The Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area is also very beautiful at night. The Yangshuo section of the Li River is magnificent. There is a large amount of idyllic countryside scenery for you to enjoy. You can ride a bike or go hiking, as the area is quite suitable for both. This is one of the best places in China to go rock climbing and, as a result, it has attracted the interest of domestic and foreign tourists and travelers beyond counting. Additionally, with cascading terraces and magical caves galore, the natural area around Guilin is also very much worth discovering.

Guilin is so romantic! Open the window to a mountain view.
My bestie and I 👭 came to Guangxi to play. Guilin was our first stop. We planned to fly ✈️ in, stay a night, visit Elephant Trunk Hill, and then head to Yangshuo the next day. But unexpectedly, we found a super beautiful hotel 🏨 in the city for just over 100 per person! What a surprise!!!
The hotel 📍 is in a great location. It's about a 5-minute walk 🚶 to Elephant Trunk Hill, 6–8 minutes to Sun and Moon Twin Towers, and about 10–15 minutes to the historical streets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties—Dongxi Lane. You can also check out Xiaoyao Tower, Jingjiang Prince City, and other scenic spots~
There are all kinds of food and souvenir shops downstairs, which is super convenient.
Most importantly‼️ The hotel has a great view 😀 I took the best photos of my life. The room is clean and comfortable, with a great floor-to-ceiling window view. The green 🍃 outside is great for photos. The top-floor restaurant and tea room have a 270-degree view of the mountains ⛰️. It's a great place to take photos in Hanfu 📷. Be sure to have breakfast here and take some photos.

There's a fantastic hotel in Guilin city center with an unbeatable location. It's right next to East-West Alley, a few steps from the bustling Zhengyang Pedestrian Street, and only about 10 minutes from Elephant Trunk Hill.
The hotel rooms are spacious and bright, with an elegant, modern Chinese style. The bedding is soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. There's also a cozy corner in the room that can be used as a lounge area. The room is well-equipped and full of thoughtful little details.
The hotel lobby on the first floor offers free tea and snacks at certain times. The most surprising thing is the rooftop viewing platform, which offers panoramic views of Guilin city center and overlooks East-West Alley~ The pool next to it is a great place for photos. The hotel's breakfast is also very rich, especially the freshly made rice noodles, which are so delicious that you don't need to go out to find food. I'll choose this place again next time I come to Guilin. 💕

The most beautiful place in China?
Spent a perfect 4 days in Guilin and Yangshuo viewing the incredible karst mountains, taking things slowly and relaxing in nature and beautiful scenery.
There are so scenic spots along the Li and Yulong rivers. We preferred the less crowded spots. Recommend staying in Guilin for 1 night and Yangshuo for 2 or 3. There are electric cars and bikes to rent all over, but we used e-hailing which was very reasonably priced.

Elephant Trunk Hill 🏔️ is a must-visit in Guilin. After visiting, I was too tired, so I found a hotel 🏨 nearby to stay in.
The first floor lobby bar is very modern and industrial, and the minimalist style rooms and suites are very nice. The room facilities are also great~ The bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas.
The garden suite has a bathtub~ The 8th floor restaurant's outdoor terrace has a view of Elephant Trunk Hill. Guilin is so beautiful with its mountains and water.
I didn't expect that there would be a Suzhou-style mountain view garden suite on the 8th floor. It's best to book in advance! Push the door to enter the atrium and enjoy a unique private banquet! The suite has a large tea room, and there is also a tatami tea room in the tea room. The two full-view floor-to-ceiling windows have a great view~ It's a great place to take photos! The sky courtyard is full of water lilies, standing tall in the fairy mist, and there are beautiful mountains and a corner of the Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area in the distance. Overlooking the bustling cityscape! It's a quiet place that feels like a paradise!

Spent a weekend on a 3-day special forces trip with my pig teammate, stayed in Guilin for a day, "Guihai Qinglan" is the most worth visiting! Take a taxi directly! The ticket is 25 yuan.
Depart at 4:30 PM, arrive at 5 PM, and play for an hour and a half until 6:30 PM is the most suitable, not too sunny and you can watch the sunset.
No need to rent the scenic area electric car, just walk around inside, it's just right! No need to waste money~

East-West Alley: A Ming Dynasty Historical Street
East-West Alley has a history of over 600 years. It is one of the most famous ancient streets in Changde city.
East-West Alley features a large number of traditional residential buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. A river runs through the middle of the street, creating a unique landscape.
East-West Alley offers a variety of souvenir shops, delicious foods; there are also traditional costumes available for experiencing, and it's a great place for taking photos.

It's a hill behind the village, with wild paths trodden by people. It takes about 20 minutes to climb up, and it's a great place to watch the sunrise. I was also lucky to capture the Tyndall effect here.

Zhuangyuan Bridge is a great place to take photos with the vast Guilin mountains. You can stand on the bridge to take pictures, or cross the bridge and stand on the grass.

The innermost part is a unique sinkhole formed under the Guilin karst topography. The scenic area is well-developed, with stairs leading all the way down. There are also many stalactites to see along the way.

1️⃣ The weather in Guilin is now very comfortable! 22℃ during the day, up to 31℃, time to say goodbye to thick clothes! There's a slight temperature difference in the morning and evening, just bring a thin jacket and that's enough🧥.
2️⃣ When taking a bamboo raft on the Yulong River, if you encounter a raft worker with a bad temper, don't be polite😡, directly find the person in charge of the scenic area to switch to a better one! Asking for tips upfront? 🙅No way!
3️⃣ The Li River cruise🛥️ is not in Yangshuo, but in Lingchuan County of Guilin city. The pier is 20 kilometers away from the city center, a 35-minute drive. To cruise the Li River, you need to get to Guilin city first, then head to the pier the next morning. There are only two boats at 9:30 am and 10:00 am, one-way only.
4️⃣ Want to check in at the 20 yuan RMB background? Recommend taking the Li River cruise, the scenery is absolutely beautiful😍, and there are fewer people! Or go to the 'Wangwang Delicious Fish Restaurant' under Xingping Ancient Town, which is the viewing platform, but there might be more people there👨👩👧👦.
5️⃣ Going to Elephant Trunk Hill, don't buy tickets for Zizhou Park, that's to see the back of Elephant Trunk Hill. Elephant Trunk Hill itself is free, just navigate directly there. Note: You can enter and exit through Gate 1, but Gates 2-3 are entry only🚪.
6️⃣ The scenic spots in Guilin are quite scattered, but each has its own characteristics🎨. For example, in Guilin city, there are Elephant Trunk Hill, Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas; in Yangshuo, there's Yulong River, Xianggong Mountain; in Longsheng, there are the Longji Terraces; in Lingchuan, there's the Li River pier; in Lipu, there's Silver Cave. Plan your transportation in advance🗺️.
7️⃣ Guilin has no subway🚇, buses, coaches, and taxis are the main means of transportation. It's not very convenient with large luggage, remember to travel light!
8️⃣ Guilin rice noodles are really delicious! But don't go to Yangshuo to eat them, they are expensive and not authentic. Eat in Guilin city, 5 yuan for two liang, remember to find a shop with a clear price tag🍜.
9️⃣ There are many touts on the streets of Yangshuo, don't easily trust strangers, be careful not to get scammed👀.
1️⃣0️⃣ Don't understand transportation or on a budget in Yangshuo? Rent an electric scooter!🛵 You can go to most scenic areas, the average rental price is 25/day, remember to bargain!💰
Guilin Yangshuo is really not recommended for holiday travel
❗First, let me tell you why it's not recommended
It's too crowded! You can't even walk around the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas in Guilin, a 20min drive in Yangshuo took nearly two hours, West Street is so packed you can't move, and it's very inconvenient with luggage, very commercialized
If you want to see the landscape, there's no need to go during the May Day holiday, three days and two nights are really more than enough, the landscape of Guilin is really nice, sunny and rainy days each have their own beauty, all are good-looking

Navigate to Riyuewan Pier, the lighting time is 18:00-23:00 every day, the best view is along the coast of Shanhu Lake and the east side of the lake, there is a fee to climb the tower
✨Day2 Guilin--Yangshuo
1️⃣Elephant Trunk Hill
Free, the hill is not high, you can overlook the landscape from the top, the view is quite open, it takes only an hour or two to visit
2️⃣Wandering around the city
Guilin is not big, the Sun and Moon Twin Pagodas are really not too crowded during the day, quite quiet, very comfortable, not too hot even during the May Day holiday
3️⃣Xingping Ancient Town
Take a bus directly from Yangshuo high-speed train station to Xingping Ancient Town, there's not much to see in the town, it's really crowded, at night when you look up, you think it's the sky, but it's actually the mountains of Guilin, really huge!
4️⃣West Street
There's a bus from the ancient town, pay attention to the last bus time, it's as crowded as the New Year's Eve in the center of Changsha, plus a 24-inch suitcase, it's really uncomfortable, heavily commercialized, not worth going
✨Day3 Yangshuo
1️⃣Xianggong Hill
If the weather is good, you must go to Xianggong Hill to see the sunrise, this is the place I think is most worth visiting in Yangshuo
2️⃣20 Yuan Renminbi Background Check-in Point
Walk upstream along the Li River, if you just want to check in and take photos, spend 20 to take a shot, no need to go to Yulong River and spend three to five hundred to take photos, unless you want to sit on a bamboo raft (about 160), it seems you can take a bamboo raft from Guilin to Yangshuo
3️⃣Nine Horses Painting Hill
Walk about 5 kilometers upstream along the Li River to get there, you can rent an electric scooter if you don't want to walk
4️⃣Guilin Landscape Jia Tianxia Monument
Take a boat from Mashan Pier (15/person round trip) to cross the river, then walk 2 kilometers (or take a sightseeing car for 10/person) to get there, you can skip it if you're short on time
5️⃣Laozhai Hill
I heard the sunset is very beautiful
We took a bus from West Street to Xingping Ancient Town for 15/person, and rented a small electric scooter for about 30/day

2️⃣The main attractions in Guilin city are Elephant Trunk Hill, Wangcheng, Dongxi Lane, Two Rivers and Four Lakes, and Zhengyang Road Pedestrian Street. These places are all close to each other, so it is most convenient to stay nearby.
3️⃣You must book in advance for the night tour of Two Rivers and Four Lakes, otherwise you may not be able to buy boat tickets on the day.
4️⃣Chongshan's Guilin rice noodles are delicious. You should eat them dry first and then add soup. This is the authentic way to eat them.
5️⃣You can choose train, car, charter, or cruise ship from Guilin to Yangshuo. If time permits, it is recommended to choose a cruise ship. It takes 3-4h to reach Yangshuo, and you can see the Guilin landscape along the way, such as the background of the 20 yuan RMB.
