I had a truly wonderful experience at Uga Chena Huts. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel right at home with their warm hospitality. They went above and beyond to arrange a fantastic safari for us, along with several other exciting activities, making the whole trip effortless and enjoyable.
What impressed me most was how much was included in the reservation — practically everything was taken care of without any extra charges, which made the stay feel truly all-inclusive and stress-free. The huts themselves were beautifully designed, blending comfort with a genuine connection to nature.
I'd highly recommend Uga Chena Huts to anyone looking for a relaxing yet adventurous getaway. It's a perfect combination of great service, exciting activities, and a peaceful natural setting. I'll definitely be returning!

Uga Chena was the absolute best safari lodge experience for the family. Every single member of the staff smile from the heart and strive to provide service that goes above and beyond.
Lodge - a beautiful cabin with an outdoor plunge pool, excellent for cooling yourself off on the hot afternoons before your evening game drives. Being situated nearest to the national park, there are plenty of sightings of wildlife on the property itself. We saw a huge bull elephant right at the entrance of the hotel!
Safari - The experience of the rangers (and drivers) was a game changer. Thanks to Ranger Vibu, we were able to get sightings of Leopards, Elephants, Crocodiles, Ruddy Mongoose, and many rare birds.

Spectacular photo shoots in Sri Lanka
Let's start with the fact that Sri Lanka itself is a wonderful and atmospheric place. This island, bathed by the Indian Ocean, has retained its authenticity and unique culture.
#traveltoSriLanka
The country was once a British colony for a long time, and this has left its mark. Against the backdrop of lush tropical nature, Sri Lankan young ladies stroll under umbrellas, shielding themselves from the bright sun. How sweet and elegant! ☂️
Tea culture has developed and perfected here. There are beautiful tea plantations and even a village resembling an English one, where you can not only enjoy a stroll and spend a couple of days but also enjoy delicious tea drinks. Nuwaria Eliya (called "Little England" in Sri Lanka) is located in the mountains, and it has a completely different, non-oceanic atmosphere. #Nuwariya Eliya
🌴 Photoshoots are a whole other story 🔥
Sri Lanka boasts numerous wild beaches—photos like these are rare. It's also a great idea to combine a photoshoot with a walk through a literal jungle.
Or propose to your girlfriend with vibrant photos, accompanied by Balinese musicians and surrounded by a floral extravaganza.
Or take a photo walk through Sri Lanka's most unusual places. And there are countless of them:
Peacocks might cross your path on an ordinary road;
Whales might greet you during a yacht ride;
Monkeys might come running to feast on the nuts you're holding.
And then all this magic will be preserved in your photographs. And why? Because there are photographers in Sri Lanka who are ready to accompany you everywhere. And even more – we'll create amazing and exclusive itineraries just for you, organize a special event on the most beautiful cliff overlooking the ocean. Shoot incredible drone footage 🛸 And many more wonders!

✨ If you've already traveled a lot and seen different corners of the world, treat yourself to new experiences – head to Sri Lanka for a photo shoot. It will be an unforgettable experience, treasured memories, and beautiful photos to remember!

Beautiful View at Tissa Wewa
🌅 Unforgettable Wildlife & Sunset at Tissa Lake, Hambantota 🦇🦜
Get ready for a magical hour-long boat ride at Tissa Lake, where unspoiled nature takes center stage! The lake is famous for its small island bustling with rare bird species, while the trees lining the banks are home to colonies of bats—making the sunset truly spectacular.
🛶 Recommended Experience:
Start your adventure in the late afternoon for golden hour views and heightened wildlife activity. Bargain with the boat operator for the best price—locals are usually open to negotiations, especially if you are traveling in a group. Glide across the tranquil water, soaking in the sights and sounds: watch birds dart and dance around the island, and spot hundreds of bats swooping from the treetops as dusk falls.
📸 Top Photo Spots:
Capture dramatic sunset shots with the glowing sky reflecting on the lake, and frame the tiny island with flocks of birds for that perfect nature moment. Don’t miss photographing the bat-filled trees—wide angles work best!
🧭 Visiting Tips:
Tissa Lake is open year-round and accessible anytime, but late afternoon is prime for both wildlife and scenery. Bring binoculars for close-ups of elusive birds. Bug spray is essential—mosquitoes love the lakeside! Don’t forget a light sweater for the breezy return journey.
⚠️ Key Precautions:
Weather can shift quickly; a waterproof bag for your camera is handy. Agree on the boat price before you board to avoid surprises. Watch your step when boarding, as the rocks can be slippery.

Wild Lanka Awaits🦁
Wild Encounters at Yala National Park 🌅🐘🦌
Wake up early for a Yala safari, where Sri Lanka’s wild heart beats at sunrise! Adventure awaits as you glide through misty landscapes, spotting elephants, deer, buffaloes, and—if luck’s on your side—a stealthy leopard.
🗺️ Recommended Route:
Start your game drive around dawn (safaris usually begin between 5:30–6:00 AM), which is the golden hour for wildlife and dreamy photos. Head straight to Blocks 1 and 2 for maximum sightings, as animals are most active here.
📸 Insta-worthy Angles:
Snap the sunrise as it paints the park’s grasslands gold, frame elephants against the shimmering waterholes, and aim for that elusive leopard shot by keeping your camera ready at bends and rocky outcrops.
🎯 Must-do Experiences:
– Join a guided safari tour (jeep required) for best access
– Look out for the “big four” (elephant, buffalo, deer, leopard)
– Pause at Patanangala beach for a unique landscape photo
💡 Visiting Tips:
– Bring Sri Lankan Rupees or a card for entrance tickets
– Dress in neutral, breathable clothing and carry a hat—midday gets hot
– Binoculars and a camera with zoom lens are a must
– Arrive early to beat crowds and catch prime wildlife action
⚠️ Precautions:
– Stay inside the vehicle at all times; wild animals roam free
– Keep noise to a minimum—quiet increases your chances of sightings
– Follow park rules and guides’ instructions strictly for safety

Beautiful Green Space with Unique Wildlife
It's a lovely open green space. At one end, there's a large Buddha statue situated in front of a historic colonial building. The main attraction is the Flying Foxes, also known as fruit bats, perched on a tree—there are literally hundreds of them. I've never encountered so many sizable bats before. The park also offers plenty of shaded areas, which is a relief given the heat and humidity.

10 Days in Sri Lanka: From Beaches to Peaks and Yala National Park.
This trip kicked off with the salty ocean breeze in Negombo—the perfect spot to fall in love with the island right from the start.
Next up was the winding coastline: Hikkaduwa with its sea turtles, the laid-back waves of Weligama perfect for surfing, and the sheer beauty of the Indian Ocean.
The enchanting port city of Galle, with its cozy little streets, great coffee, authentic souvenir shops, antique stores, and lovely restaurants, is an absolute must-visit.
But Sri Lanka truly blew us away when we headed inland. Little Adam's Peak, a jungle zipline, and a panoramic restaurant with a pool where time seemed to stand still.
The Nine Arch Bridge and what's known as the most scenic train ride in the world—open doors, wind in your hair, and rolling rice terraces gliding by. It’s an experience you just have to live for yourself.
We dedicated a whole day to a safari in Yala National Park. Seeing elephants, monitor lizards, and wild boars thriving in their natural habitat is truly priceless.
No cages, no captivity.
And the cherry on top was Sigiriya.
1,200 steps and nearly an hour of climbing, but the view overlooking thousands of years of history makes it totally worth it.
A quick tip: comfortable shoes, a hat, and covering clothes are a must—the sun and rocks are unforgiving.
Sri Lanka, you were an incredible adventure steeped in the scent of tea and crashing waves. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. 🌊✨

Let’s talk about Hambantota and the ultimate feathered pit stop for nature lovers 🦜✨ The highlight? Birds Park & Birds Research Center, right by scenic Nagara Lake, brings you face-to-face with over 200 different bird species, all in a lush outdoor vibe.
Must-See Spot:
Birds Park & Birds Research Center - Hambantota (Nagara Lake, Sri Lanka. Open daily 8am–6pm)
This place is birds-on-parade: vibrant parrots, chill flamingos, quirky pelicans, and rare locals. Pro tip—get there early before tour group crowds swoop in so you get the best interaction time. If you’re into bird photography or just want those epic Insta moments, the trees and reflective pond create a magic backdrop.
My favorite part? Actually interacting with the parrots outside, which made the whole experience feel personal, not just like looking through glass. The staff are friendly and happy to snap pics for you or chat about conservation efforts. Bring a little extra cash if you want to grab snacks or bird feed in the park.
Travel Details & Tips:
Getting around Hambantota is easiest via tuk-tuk—super affordable and way more fun than taxis. Cash is king for local travel and snacks, so exchange some rupees in advance. Weather can be extra humid, so pack sunscreen and water. And don’t skip the Birds Park gift shop for some eco-friendly souvenirs.

Hambantota is easiest by car or tuk-tuk. There’s parking onsite and local drivers know the area well. Safaris are guided—no self-drive inside the park!
Food Fix:
There are snack stands at the entrance, but it’s smart to bring your own lunch. Picnic tables make it easy to chill after your wild morning.
Extra Tips:
Sri Lanka’s climate here is tropical; pack rain gear in the wet season (May–September).

Hummanaya Blow Hole
#srilankatrip
I just visited the Hummanaya Blow Hole, and it was absolutely stunning! It's a hidden gem in the southern part of Sri Lanka. Every time the waves crash against the rocks, water shoots up high into the air, like a natural fireworks display. The timing of the eruptions is unpredictable, but every time it happens, you can really feel the power of nature—it's so exciting. The surrounding sea view is also breathtaking, making it a perfect spot to relax. If you're in Sri Lanka, this is definitely a must-visit!

Pallikaduwa Beach
#srilankatrip
Pallikaduwa Beach is truly a hidden paradise! The sand is pristine, the water is crystal clear, and there are hardly any tourists, making it feel like a private getaway. Walking along the beach or just sitting on the sand and relaxing is incredibly soothing. The water is very clean, perfect for swimming, and you can even try snorkeling. What’s best is the peaceful atmosphere—no crowded tour groups, just a perfect place to slow down. Whether it’s the sunset or early morning, the views are unbeatable. Definitely a place worth visiting again and again!
