Yangrong Haide village is a Tibetan settlement, and when you come here, you must drink a steaming hot soup and indulge in a hearty yak hotpot to truly enjoy the experience.
There aren't many restaurants to choose from in the village, basically one street covers all options, which is very friendly to those who have difficulty making choices❤️. The most popular restaurant, 'The Taste of Grandma', specializes in yak hotpot and also offers a variety of mushrooms and vegetables🥬. The smoked pork ribs are also very delicious, and adding a bit of Cordyceps mushroom to the soup base makes for a flavor so memorable and delicious that it comes highly recommended👍.

Take the high-speed train at Chengdu East Railway Station to Maoxian. Book the train ticket via Trip.com. Just show your passport and you can board the train. (1. Go through the counter with the staff and submit your passport to enter the train station. 2. Scan and check all your luggage. After entering, look at the schedule and the platform will open for you to get off about 10-15 minutes before the train departs. 3. Submit your passport again before going down to the platform.) The train station has hot and cold water dispensers, shops, and a variety of restaurants. It's very convenient.
Maoxian High-Speed Rail Station is located in a remote valley. After exiting the station, take the bus to the city for 10Y and wait for people to enter the city. It takes about 30 minutes to get on the bus in Maoxian.
Catch the bus to Heishui at 14:30. It costs 55Y (there are 2 trips per day at 11:30 and 14:30). After arriving, take a taxi to the accommodation for 20Y and stay at Far Mountain Dream Hotel (Actually, I didn't plan it this way. I wanted to charter a taxi all the way to Heishui, but I ended up taking a local minivan to Heishui. We arrived at the same destination. He told us to take this one, so we went. We paid 55Y each.

Heishui is a big city. We walked around the city, danced with the locals, and bought Hong Jingtian (红景天) herbal medicine. It is a herb that the locals use to treat symptoms caused by altitude sickness due to low oxygen levels. There are 12 tubes in a box, 40Y. Take 1 tube at a time, morning, noon, and evening. Dagu Glacier.
The weather was great that day, with blue skies and white clouds over the glacier. We arrived at around noon and spent four hours there. It was really amazing to see it. If you haven't been to a glacier before, I think you should go. It's very different from ordinary snow-capped mountains and ice lakes. Although I was a little worried after reading the guide that there were no ice caves and you couldn't get close, it was still worth it when we got there. There was a lot of ice melting when we arrived. You can't get close to the large ice walls. We even walked to the back of a large ice wall, but we couldn't get close. There was a warning line around it, so we could only watch from a distance. If you don't rent crampons, you should try to walk on the snow, as the ice is very slippery. Be careful when walking and don't walk on small hills that no one has walked on. We tried to take a shortcut and walked up a small hill. The snow was so thick that we couldn't see that it was hollow underneath. One of us fell in and fell over. It was quite dangerous, so be careful when you're playing. On the way back, we walked to a small iceberg near the shore. You can get close to it and climb up to play. We played there for a long time and took a lot of photos.
