Departing from Chengdu, it takes 1.5 hours to reach Laoyashan in Gengda Town. We rented the entire mountain, stumbled upon stunning scenery, and even caught a glimpse of snowy peaks! Perfect for hiking with kids, great value! On weekdays, you can drive directly to the mid-mountain. Besides us, there were almost no other tourists, making the whole mountain our playground! The round-trip hike is about 4 kilometers, with very family-friendly trail conditions: the first half is a stone path, and the second half is a gentle dirt trail. Reaching the first meadow is easy, with wide open views and breathtaking scenery. The popular wooden cabin you see online is here, where kids can run freely. The climb to the second meadow is steeper, but there are huge rocks along the way perfect for photos and adding fun. ⚠️ Important Reminder: A local man on the mountain told us that this place almost became a landfill due to tourists littering, and the mountain was nearly closed. Please hike responsibly, carry a trash bag with you, and take all your garbage down the mountain! This is the best environmental education for children.
