Over these two days and one night, I explored the admission tickets, routes, grilled tofu, and well water, and I've written down the pitfalls I encountered for you. Two days, 1 night: I set the pace to slow Jianshui Ancient City itself has no admission fee and is open all day, though individual attractions within the city require separate tickets. Take a high-speed train from Kunming Station or Kunming South Station to Jianshui Station, which takes one and a half to two hours and costs about CNY 80 to CNY 100 for a second-class seat. From the station, it's a ten-minute taxi ride to the ancient city. The city isn't large—it's only about two kilometers from east to west—but the cobblestone roads are uneven, making it difficult to drag luggage, so I just left my large bags at the hotel. I set a relaxed pace: one day immersed in the heart of the ancient city, and the other reserved for the meter-gauge train, with stops at Shuanglong Bridge and Tuanshan Village along the way.
