I have recently found Mae Tae waterfall from traveler reviews. It was almost two hours from Chiangmai city center, 14 km from the main road. The route to the waterfall was very narrow, one lane to be precise. It was not easy to get there to be honest, but worth every minute. The waterfall was gorgeous!! There were many camper waiting for counting down to the new year. Entrance fee: Free Camping fee: Free Restrooms: 3 Parking: very limited (but plenty if you don’t mind walking 500 meters)

It's very easy to get here; you can drive your own car directly. The area is filled with pine trees, perfect for taking beautiful photos.
