Reverse Holiday Travel: London Hidden in the Charm of British Life, Unique Experiences That Are Super Healing
Reverse Holiday Travel: London Hidden in the Charm of British Life, Unique Experiences That Are Super Healing
Having visited many popular European cities, if I had to say which one leaves a lasting impression, London definitely stands out—this is my third visit. London is not just about Big Ben and Buckingham Palace; its most charming side lies in the streets and secret spots away from the crowds. This time, besides the classic landmarks, we discovered several lesser-known local corners. If you don’t want to queue at popular attractions during your holiday, keep this London guide handy~
🚗 Transportation Guide
- Airplane: Arrive at Heathrow Airport/Gatwick Airport, take the airport express or the subway directly to the city center
- City Transport: Oyster Card is widely accepted, with the subway and buses covering most attractions, making travel very convenient
🗺️ 3 Days 2 Nights Essential Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in London → British Museum → Covent Garden
Day 2: Tower Bridge → St. James’s Park → Notting Hill
Day 3: Greenwich Observatory → Daphne Park → Columbia Road Flower Market
🌟 Must-Visit in London: Classic and Quality Combined
- 🏛️ British Museum: One of the world’s top four museums. Avoid the morning peak hours and focus on the Egyptian Rosetta Stone and the Chinese porcelain in the China Gallery. Take your time to feel the weight of history.
- 🌉 Tower Bridge: More than just a photo spot! You can visit the glass viewing platform on the bridge, with the gentle flow of the Thames River beneath your feet. The sunset view in the evening is stunning and you can avoid daytime tour groups.
- 🎪 Covent Garden: An open-air square full of artistic atmosphere, with spectacular street performances. Nearby craft shops and unique cafes are perfect for leisurely spending time.
Other Unmissable Attractions
- 🌿 St. James’s Park: A hidden gem in central London where you can see pelicans and various water birds up close. It’s within walking distance to Buckingham Palace, making it a refreshing spot to relax after visiting landmarks.
- ⏳ Greenwich Observatory: Stand on the Prime Meridian line crossing the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. Climb to the top for panoramic views of East London. The lawns and vintage buildings in the park are perfect for photos.
🏡 Discovering Lesser-Known Corners (Fewer People, Beautiful Scenery!)
- Notting Hill: Avoid the weekend crowds; the colorful terraced houses on weekdays are even more photogenic. The small stalls at Portobello Road Market hold many surprises.
- Daphne Park: A picnic spot cherished by locals. In autumn, the leaves turn golden, and the lake reflects the surrounding buildings, creating a peaceful and healing atmosphere.
💡 Holiday Travel Tips
- It’s recommended to book tickets in advance on official websites for popular attractions like the British Museum to save queue time
- London’s weather is changeable, so carry lightweight rain gear and a jacket
- Try local specialties: Shepherd’s Pie, Fish and Chips, Earl Grey Tea with Scones
This city, rich in history and full of everyday charm, hides many unknown surprises! If you don’t want to crowd popular spots during your holiday, come to London and unlock the true slow British lifestyle.

London 🏛|Cranford, Hounslow 🛩
#RegisterJanuaryHotelTestSleeper2025#100 Ways to Travel #GlobalTravel #trip #GoodNewYearDestination2025 #Relax
📍Cranford, Hounslow, is a suburb straddling the London Boroughs of Hillingdon and Hounslow. It is located 20 km (12.5 mi) west of Charing Cross and just east of Heathrow Airport 🛩, across the river from Heathrow Airport.
🎈 Cranford remained a village until the mid-20th century, when it developed with the construction of the area's main roads.
📍Hounslow is an area in west London, England, and is administratively part of the London Borough of Hounslow. Walthamstow is 10.6 miles (17.1 km) south-west of Charing Cross. Hounslow has several London Underground stations and train stations.
💗Tourists love Cranford, and especially can't resist the restaurants here. There are many bars and shops to choose from in the area, so you’ll definitely be spoilt for choice! Wembley Stadium and Hampton Court Palace are both popular sights worth a visit in the surrounding area. Popular sights in the surrounding area include Westfield London Shopping Centre and Kensington High Street. There are 21 hotels to choose from in the area, and Heathrow Airport is also nearby.

London | Must try cosy noodle bar in Chiswick
Last time, I met a friend in Chiswick and we went to a hidden gem noodle shop – So Noodle.
The shop has a very fresh and cozy decor, creating a warm atmosphere.
The Baman Mixed Noodles were absolutely delicious! The noodles weren’t too soft, and they were paired with kelp knots, tofu, beef, and a hint of spicy fragrance – very tasty!
The Pork Rib Soup Noodles had perfectly cooked ribs, and the vegetables were cleaned thoroughly. The hot soup was so comforting and tasty!
The Lotus Root Sandwich was huge! When you bite into it, the meat and lotus root were very firm – it’s so hearty that one person can be totally satisfied with it!
The Salt and Crispy Chicken wasn’t served in small pieces, but it was also delicious. The sauce was tangy and sweet, very flavorful!
The Fried Tofu had a crispy outer layer with soft, glutinous inside. It’s like the non-smelly version of stinky tofu, giving it a more refreshing taste!
Average cost: £30 (if you don’t order side dishes, it’s about £20).

To share t
To share the memories of a journey, this time to explore this different Britain in my eyes. To say that, this flight experience is also an indispensable gentle memory on the journey ~
from London At the airport lounge of Silo Airport, I was eating and sleeping all the way. Hahaha even turned off the plane. When I quietly retouched the map, I had a flight attendant who handed me a popsicle. Hahaha~
voyage day When accompanied by the moon, when I returned to Beijing, I happened to meet the most beautiful sunset. With the lights of the city, I feel very lucky. I am probably the happiest person in the world... Hahaha
PS: The plane back to Beijing, sitting next to Yang Kun... I am very embarrassed to say a word, but silent and Yang Kun finished watching the whole sunset, after all, I dare not look at him!
I feel like a joke... After writing this Weibo, I want to clear this memory about Yang Kun...
PPS: When I first boarded the plane, I was in a hurry. I am overwhelmed by my text my friends for help... I want to ask how to get rid of it... Then they let me sing a piece of "Indifferent" on the plane to see if Yang Kun will turn for me... I feel that my life is a joke...

Christmas Day travelling for festive fun with family
Just wrapped up an epic London adventure and ended my journey at Hounslow – including a night at Heathrow Airport! ✈️🌙 The energy in this area truly never sleeps, and Heathrow itself was surprisingly cool for a late-night flight.
Must-See in Hounslow:
- Heathrow Airport (TW6 1QG): Catch those iconic runways and night views. Even if you’re just stopping over, watch the planes line up for takeoff right next to the jet bridges — it’s an outdoor cultural landscape vibe you don’t want to miss. 🛫
- Local Eats: If you’re around before your flight, grab a quick bite at Pret a Manger in Terminal 2 or have a cozy curry at The Gorgeous Kitchen in Terminal 2 (open till 10 PM).
Insider Airport Tips:
- Security is super smooth, even at night — totally hassle-free if you do online check-in before arriving.
- Plenty of charging ports near seating areas.
- Free Wi-Fi is reliable for streaming or last-minute plans on trip.com.
- Pro tip: The airport shops stay open late, so perfect for souvenir hunting before your flight.
Getting Around:
- Heathrow Express and Tube (Piccadilly Line) are speedy options if you’re heading to central London or back to Hounslow.
- Use contactless cards for quick fare payment.
Key Destination Tips:
- London weather is unpredictable, even at night – so bring a light jacket for airport chills.
- No visa headaches if you’re just transiting, but always double-check entry rules on official sites.

travelled to the uk from Bangkok for the first time with Scandinavian airlines and I must say it was the best airline I have traveled with. I have traveled with many airlines and they are definitely top tier with great food and service that many airlines could learn from. I always feel that who you travel with makes a big part of the trip. Scandinavian airlines did not disappoint and I will definitely use them again and refer them without a doubt. Great food, great service, great price and great onward travel assistance. everything an airline tries to do but fails SAS does with ease.

🎄 A festive welcome at Heathrow Terminal 3
Arriving at Heathrow Terminal 3 during the Christmas season instantly set the tone for our journey. The entrance felt warm and welcoming, with tasteful festive decorations, soft lighting, and that unmistakable pre-holiday buzz in the air. It’s one of those small details that really makes a difference — especially when airports can often feel rushed and impersonal.
Instead of the usual travel stress, it felt calm and cheerful, reminding us that the journey is part of the experience too. A lovely way to start a winter trip from London.

Hello Christmas holiday ... lounge access
#hellochristmas
☕ Productive, peaceful, and genuinely comfortable
What we really appreciated about the Club Aspire Lounge was the balance between comfort and practicality. We managed to catch up on some work, enjoy a proper meal, and still relax before boarding.
The lounge offers a good food selection, plenty of drinks, and a calm environment — perfect if you’re travelling but don’t want to feel rushed or overstimulated before a flight.
We’d happily visit again.

✈️ A calm start to our journey at Heathrow T3
We arrived around 2.5 hours before our flight and headed straight to the Club Aspire Lounge — and it was such a good decision. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, making it easy to get some work done before switching into travel mode.
Comfortable seating, good food, and a generous selection of hot drinks, soft drinks, and wine made the time fly by. A great way to start a trip without the usual airport stress.

🎬 More than just a lounge
Beyond the food and drinks, the Club Aspire Lounge really surprised us with its facilities. There are quiet rooms for resting, comfortable spaces to unwind, and even a small cinema — ideal if you want to properly switch off before flying.
It felt thoughtfully designed for different types of travellers, whether you want to work, relax, or simply enjoy a calm moment away from the terminal crowds.

🌍 Would recommend — and would go again
We booked our lounge passes via Trip.com, which made the whole process quick and easy. For us, having access to the Club Aspire Lounge turned waiting time into quality time.
Good food, a relaxed atmosphere, drinks included, and space to work or unwind — it’s well worth considering if you’re flying from Heathrow Terminal 3.

บิน full service ไปลอนอดอนกับOman Air!
#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
For this London trip, I chose to travel with Oman Air. Starting from Suvarnabhumi Airport, I took an early morning flight around 9:30 AM, transiting in Oman before connecting to a long flight to London Heathrow Airport. It was quite a long journey, but overall, the experience exceeded my expectations.
Multiple meals were served during the flight because I had two flights – the first and the connecting flight from Oman – totaling two meals. In addition to the main meals, there were snacks like chicken pie and small bags of chips to tide me over, keeping me from feeling hungry even on a long flight.
The transit in Oman lasted about two hours, which was just right – not too rushed and not too long to be tiring. The total travel time from Bangkok to London was almost 15 hours, departing in the morning and arriving in London around 7 PM local time.
What impressed me most was the seating. It was quite spacious, comfortable, clean, and well-organized, making the long flight feel less cramped than I expected. Overall, Oman Air is a suitable airline for long-haul flights, especially to Europe. Anyone looking for comfortable seating, decent food, and a smooth journey should consider them. It's another airline worth trying.

Hotel Unboxing ෆ⃛ Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel
I've stayed here many times, but this time I'm finally giving a proper review!
Besides being incredibly close to the airport, the view from the window is one of my favorite parts of this hotel! (You can even see planes taking off from the breakfast area!) The rooms aren't big, and the bathroom is quite small, but it's well-equipped and clean. The king-size bed is especially wonderful—it's so comfortable!
I'm so hungry! I ordered pizza and cider to feast! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Dover — the perfect one-day escape from London!
If you want to see England beyond the city noise, Dover is ideal.
White cliffs, sea air, a medieval castle, coastal trails, gulls, endless views…
Just 1 hour by train from London — and suddenly you’re inside a living postcard.
Here’s the perfect one-day itinerary 👇
🕊 1. White Cliffs of Dover — start your morning on the cliffs
Begin with the landmark everyone comes for: the iconic chalk cliffs.
Route: Visitor Centre → Langdon Cliffs → South Foreland Lighthouse
What to expect:
• cliffs glowing white in the sun
• dramatic sea views
• quiet coastal paths
• France on the horizon on a clear day
Best time: early morning before the crowds arrive.
⛵️ 2. South Foreland Lighthouse — tea with a sea view
A Victorian lighthouse with a cozy tearoom.
Perfect spot to pause, warm up, and enjoy the full English coastal mood.
🏰 3. Dover Castle — the heart of the region
One of the most impressive castles in England.
Don’t miss:
• the medieval Great Keep
• panoramic views from the towers
• the WWII underground tunnels
Plan at least 1.5–2 hours to explore.
🌊 4. Walk along Dover Marina
Head down to the water and stroll the harbour.
Quiet, scenic, perfect for grabbing fish & chips or a coffee by the sea.
⛪️ 5. The Roman Painted House (if you have extra time)
A small but fascinating site with preserved Roman frescoes.
Ideal for history lovers who prefer hidden gems over crowded museums.
🍽 6. Dinner in a seaside pub
Top picks:
• The White Horse
• The Dover Patrol
Expect classic English pub charm: wooden beams, beer on tap, warm lighting, sea breeze.
🚆 How to get there from London
High-speed train London St Pancras → Dover Priory: ~1 hour.
From the station, most sights are walkable.
🎒 What to bring
✔️ comfortable shoes
✔️ windbreaker (even summer can be chilly)
✔️ water + light snack
✔️ phone charger — you’ll take lots of photos
💬 Why Dover is worth it
It’s a rare part of England where nature, history, and cinematic landscapes meet.
A perfect one-day escape — simple, beautiful, unforgettable.
