Last time, I met a friend in Chiswick and we went to a hidden gem noodle shop – So Noodle. The shop has a very fresh and cozy decor, creating a warm atmosphere. The Baman Mixed Noodles were absolutely delicious! The noodles weren’t too soft, and they were paired with kelp knots, tofu, beef, and a hint of spicy fragrance – very tasty! The Pork Rib Soup Noodles had perfectly cooked ribs, and the vegetables were cleaned thoroughly. The hot soup was so comforting and tasty! The Lotus Root Sandwich was huge! When you bite into it, the meat and lotus root were very firm – it’s so hearty that one person can be totally satisfied with it! The Salt and Crispy Chicken wasn’t served in small pieces, but it was also delicious. The sauce was tangy and sweet, very flavorful! The Fried Tofu had a crispy outer layer with soft, glutinous inside. It’s like the non-smelly version of stinky tofu, giving it a more refreshing taste! We stayed at the London Marriott near Heathrow as a family with a young child, and it felt genuinely comfortable before/ after a long flight. We stay here mainly to enjoy the facilities and convenience to the airport. Travel via the normal bus for only £1.75 right from Heathrow Central Bus Station, easy with Google maps navigation. Bus drop-off is straightforward though there’s a bit of a walk to the stop with luggage if heading to the airport so be prepared for to walk with luggage or just grab an Uber. Having access to executive lounge area to get coffee/tea, light snacks throughout, and just chill made our stay so much nicer plus, it included evening meal and breakfast. The swimming pool was nice, they have steam room and sauna as well. the jacuzzi wasn’t working during our stay, unfortunately. My trip started in London, where I took the Elizabeth Line to Heathrow Terminal 4. It’s one of the most convenient ways to reach the airport, especially because it passes directly through central London. You can board the Elizabeth Line from stations such as Whitechapel Station, Farringdon Station, or Goodmayes Station. If you’re coming from East London, it’s particularly easy. Another option is to travel via Paddington Station and change at Farringdon. One important thing to remember: the train goes first to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 and then continues to Terminal 4 — so make sure you stay on the train if Terminal 4 is your stop. ☕ At London Heathrow Once inside Heathrow Airport, you’ll find plenty of food and coffee options. For example, Costa Coffee is conveniently located right after the departure entrance. Heathrow offers a wide variety of dining choices, so you can easily grab something before your flight. 🛫 Flight Experience I flew with China Southern Airlines. From my personal experience, the service was not as good as Air China, which I found to provide better overall service and comfort. Based on this trip, I personally prefer Air China. 🛂 Arrival in Guangzhou – Important Immigration Tip Before arriving in Guangzhou, you must complete the mandatory entry form for immigration. You can scan the QR code and complete it online either at Heathrow before departure or upon arrival in Guangzhou. If you prefer, there are also traditional arrival cards available that you can fill out using a pen. Don’t worry if you forget to complete the online form in advance — you can still complete the process at the airport. 🌡 Weather Advice If you’re planning to travel in the coming months, keep in mind that the weather in Guangzhou will be very hot. Avoid packing heavy clothing and bring light, breathable outfits instead. 🛋 Arrival Facilities at Guangzhou Airport At Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, there are free lounges available where passengers can relax. The seating has recently been upgraded to more comfortable chairs, and there are charging points so you can power your phone while waiting.
