#vietnamtrip Hue is a beautiful city, located just North of the popular Hoi An. This small town is rich with culture and history and is a great place to stop for a few days while travelling through Vietnam. In fact, it’s a must to get your cultural and temple fix in Vietnam! This city is much more laid back than other tourist places, as there is much less traffic and remarkably fewer tourists. It was nice to get away from crowds and the hustle that you usually get in Vietnamese cities. It is a very easy city to get around, either by a motorbike, cycling or even walking! There is more to see here other then just the temples and tombs, National parks and beaches are very close by to this city! 1. Night Markets or Hue Walking Street There are a few markets in Hue, Dong Ba Market is the most popular and iconic. This market has been operating for over 120 years, divided into 3 floors – there is plenty to see! Here you can get local foods, clothing, local handcrafts and much more. It’s a great place to stop for souvenirs. This market operated from 5am till 7pm, so if you are looking for a night market there is one that opens from 5pm-11pm. If you are looking for a night out, head to Hue Walking street. Located in the centre of the backpackers area, this street is lined with restaurants and pubs! It has a very energetic vibe with lots of neon lights (very common in Vietnam). The street is closed off to traffic and operates from 5pm to 11pm. 2. Eat some delicious food Vietnam has incredible dishes and Hue is really good at showcasing this! I had some of the best food I had in all of Vietnam in Hue. The best local foods I ate ate, Bun Bo Hue (beef noodle soup), Banh Xeo (stuffed pancakes) and Grilled pork with vermicelli. There are plenty of restaurants offering great meals at low prices, but these were some of my favourites. I highly recommend all of these! 3. Visit the Imperial Palace district of the imperial city I recommend simply walking along the quiet streets and enjoying the immersion into Vietnamese life away from tourists and the hustle and bustle. 🚗 We traveled to Incense Village by private vehicle, arriving at approximately 3:00 PM. Upon arrival, we saw an incense village and numerous incense shops. There were also a variety of colorful incense sticks along the roadside. You can choose whichever shop to take photos at or purchase incense sticks from. We chose the shop with the largest selection of incense sticks and a variety of colors. The shop we visited rented a set of incense sticks for 150,000 VND each, and there was also a photo booth area where you could take photos. There were many colorful spots to choose from. We chose a white cheongsam, which contrasted perfectly with the colorful incense sticks, creating stunning photos. We absolutely loved this place, as it was so photogenic. And not only are there colorful incense sticks, they also sell colorful wooden fans and hats with a variety of beautiful designs. Anyone visiting Hue must not miss this check-in spot. There are many photo spots and many shops offering rentals of incense sticks, each categorized in various patterns and colors. Built during the Minh Mang reign of the Nguyen Dynasty, it served as a theater where the emperor and members of the royal family enjoyed performances of drama, music, and dance. It was also a crucial venue for court ceremonies and cultural events. The hall boasts an elegant structure, intricately carved wooden beams, and a glazed tiled roof, creating a majestic yet refined architecture. In the past, imperial opera troupes performed here, with blaring drums and melodious string instruments. The emperor and his concubines sat on a raised platform, with his courtiers seated below, creating a spectacular spectacle. Today, while the Duyet Thị Đường Hall no longer entertains the emperor, it still hosts traditional music and drama performances, offering visitors a glimpse into the glimpse of imperial culture. Strolling around the lotus ponds and admiring moss-covered walls under the afternoon sunlight brings a serene and indescribable sense of antiquity 🌿. 👘 A unique experience is renting traditional Vietnamese attire to wear while visiting the Imperial City. I rented mine at Hoang Anh shop (45 Le Huan Street), with prices ranging from 150,000 to 250,000 VND per outfit. The shop owners were incredibly kind. Since my homestay was nearby, they even gave me a ride straight to the entrance after I tried on the outfit. Wearing traditional attire in the palace not only fits the setting but also makes for stunning photos 📷. 💰 Admission to the Imperial City is 200,000 VND for adults, with discounted rates for children and students. This trip to Hue was quite short as it was part of my 5-day journey through Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An. However, I had some beautiful moments here and will definitely return to explore more of Hue. The people here are very friendly, the food is affordable, and the scenery brings a sense of peace.

Hue is located in the middle part of Vietnam. Since 19th century, it has been the capital of Nguyễn dynasty (which is why many people in Vietnam have the surname “Nguyễn.”) Here I’ll share the famous and historical places in Hue. Hope you have fun visiting them. ✨Mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh✨ This Mausoleum is the tomb for the Emperor Khai Dinh. This tomb is combined with eastern and western style, especially European architecture. You can see the fence has the sculptures of dragons. There are also sculptures of horses, elephants, and servants on the stairs. The ceiling is decorated with cloud dragons with the hues of black and white. If you’re fond of ancient artifacts, history, culture exploration, this place is definitely for you. 📍Núi, Châu Chữ, quận Thuận Hóa, Thành phố Huế 530000, Vietnam ✨Thiên Mụ Pagoda✨ There is a tower built by the third emperor of Nguyễn dynasty in front of the temple. Shakyamuni Buddha, Bhaisajyaguru Buddha, and Amitabha Buddha are in the temple. They are the three main Buddha of Eastern culture. It is a sacred and peaceful temple. 📍Hương Hòa, Huế, Hue City, Vietnam ✨Hương Giang✨ Beside the Hương Giang are lots of special dragon boats that you can take. These boats were used to be for the emperor to enjoy the view of the river. Now it is for the tourists to enjoy😆 ✨Thuy Xuan✨ Thuy Xuan is a little village known for incense making. Every household’s main profession is making incense. When you visit it, you’ll see incense with all kinds of colors from the traditional red and yellow to orange, purple, and green placed everywhere in a beautiful pattern, which brightens up the atmosphere. This place almost provides the incense industry of the whole Vietnam. The incense is made of wood scraps, cinnamon, and frankincense, so you will slightly smell the fragrance of this traditional artistic and ritualistic objects. Some stores even provide incense making lessons, which you can attend and make your own incense. ✨Nhà Hàng Cung Đình✨ This is the most special and extravagant dinner I’ve ever had in Vietnam. When I enjoyed the delicious food, there were even musicians playing traditional eastern royal music in the dining hall.
