The official name of "Wine Town" is "Ikeda Town Grape and Wine Research Institute". Due to its resemblance to medieval European castles, it is called the "Wine Castle" by many.
☆・In the aging room on the first basement floor, you can see a lot of French oak barrels where the aged wines are quietly sleeping. You can also see some vintage wines that have been aged in barrels, bottles, and shipped. Experience the temperature, humidity and natural mold that clings to the cork as the bottle ages.
☆・The exhibition on the second floor allows you to deepen your understanding of Tokachi wine, such as wine production methods and grape cultivation. This will be a space where you can experience Tokachi wine, including things you have never seen before, such as panels that tell the history and history of winemaking in Ikeda Town.
☆・The first floor is a shopping area where you can buy Tokachi wine and other Ikeda-cho specialties, and the fourth floor is a restaurant full of fun wine castles.
☆・From here you can see the beautiful scenery of Tokachi Plain, the Ribetsu River flowing through Ikeda Town, and the ridgeline of the majestic Hidaka Mountains. The wind was particularly strong on the day we arrived, but the weather was very good, and the temperature was just right for taking photos.
