If you want to experience long and warm summer days and participate in a variety of activities, you should head to Finland in June, July, or August.

Pielpajarvi Wilderness Church
This is a place you just won’t find accidentally. Literally in the middle of nowhere in Inari community, Finnish Lapland there’s a church that’s not located near any main roads and it’s completely inaccessible without hiking a few kilometers.
Pielpajarvi used to be a winter village for the people of Inari where they used to gather for markets and listening to religious ceremonies. Anyway there was never any real village with people living there, people used to come there when the lake was frozen and hence the church and the surroundings were more easily accessible.
The first church in that location was built already 1646-1648 but it was rotten and hence destroyed. The current church was built to the site and was finished 1760.
The church used to be in regular use until late 19th century when it was replaced by a new church that was built near the habitation. But the wilderness Church is still occasionally in use, every year there’s a Midsummer ceremony and some couples can also use the church for their weddings.
The church is located about 10 km north from the village of Inari. The address to the parking where the hiking route to the church starts is Sarviniementie 249, Inari.
There’s no services and no admission fee to the church but nearby wilderness hut offers some shield against bad weather and also fireplace, simple cooking facilities and an outdoor restroom.

That night of the clear sky the aurora alarm rang and I grabbed by tripod and iPhone and recorded some amazing lights (on the camera that is). Doesn’t exactly translate to your eyes the same but it’s obvious it’s there.
We went during polar night and on a clear day the sun is not above the horizon but it lights up the sky.
Overall this was an amazing adventure that is worth doing many times over. Highly recommended but do not underestimate the cold, you need a ton of gear and HotHands.
Reindeer appear, not just at Christmas.
Finland is the hometown of Santa Claus and also the homeland of reindeer. In the Lapland region of northern Finland, there is a small town called Inari. When you come to Inari, there are two things you must do: one is to go to Lake Inari to watch the aurora, and the other is to ride a reindeer sled to experience the long-standing Sami culture. The indigenous Sami people here have been hunting reindeer for a living since the Mesolithic era. Reindeer have almost provided them with everything they need for life: meat, warm fur, tents, and transportation. Modern Sami people live in the Lapland region, which spans four countries: Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Russia. There is still a small number of people who raise reindeer as their profession. During the season of reindeer migration, you can see a spectacular scene of a huge herd of reindeer crossing the snow. From October every year, Lapland enters a winter season that lasts for 8 months. The vast and continuous snowfall will cover the entire Lapland into a silver-white world. A reindeer sled is generally shared by two people. In addition to the guide leading the way at the front, the rest of the reindeer are tied to the front sled or led by passengers. In April, Inari holds a reindeer race. Unlike normal sled rides, participants ride on skis and are pulled by reindeer through the snow to the finish line, creating a lively scene at the competition site.

Ivalo can see the hotel in Aurora
highly recommended resort, but unfortunately we stayed here for too short, did not enjoy the hotel facilities. Located in Ivalos Saariselka, the hotel is actually one of the most abundant snow sports resources in Finland. Also located in the Arctic Circle, the hotel is a good place to shoot Aurora. The first time we saw Aurora on the doorstep of this hotel. The style of the
hotel is particularly dreamy. It is a colorful, snow-covered log cabin. It is especially suitable for girls who love to take pictures to shoot a set of snow photo. The size of the room is similar to that of the Oulu Hotel. In the sparsely populated Finland, you don't feel crowded. The room is decorated with many wooden materials. The large open glass window is surrounded by charming snow and forest. The whole hotel is very quiet and has a feeling of paradise. Another feature of the
hotel is its own heated swimming pool, which is a perfect match for water parks and water slides, especially for families with children. The pool is right next to the breakfast room, but unfortunately we don't have time to experience it, and we have a special look at the whole meal while eating breakfast.
In fact, it is especially suitable for a slow-paced holiday and a few more days to experience the diversity of Lapland's fun activities. The snow sports project in Saariselka is not inferior to Rovaniemi, and the cost performance is higher than that of Rovaniemi, and there are fewer tourists. You can even choose to participate in an aurora group one day, after all, the nearby Lake Inari is an aurora harvester!
A hundred kilometers drive from Ivalo, Lake Inari can't bear to disturb the snow and white.
Night return, the northern lights of the window outside the night sky and the romantic dance together with the stars - see the best season of the Northern Lights, what are you waiting for?
The Ivano region, the northernmost part of Finland, is one of the most important towns in the Aurora. The primary purpose of our trip to Northern Europe is to chase the Aurora. The fine weather made us feel that there will be aurora tonight, so we sat at the hotel and waited. The Aurora software index downloaded from the mobile phone continued to soar. From time to time, the gentleman walked out of the hotel to see the sky. Finally, the sky began to show green, and the more intense . The goddess Aurora was finally no longer shy, and began to dance in the sky and gracefully, swaying in the earth.
We didn't book the hottest glass house. This hotel is also a famous hot spring hotel in the town. After the hotel section, the forest and the empty field are very suitable for shooting aurora. The light pollution is not big. The thick snow and the forest become the embellishment in the aurora sky. A piece of green is really beautiful.
From 9:00 in the evening, the goddess of the Aurora is flying, and it changes without hesitation. The aurora that sways in the eyes flashes, the magic and dreams of nature make everyone scream With the stars in the sky
Hey, Finland is the one who impressed me the most in the hotel inari, the owner of Esko, who is wearing a striped shirt. He is already a shackle of three children, two of them are Returned from Africa. Early in the morning, he came to give us breakfast, and the house was burning and the house was warm. Then everyone sat together and talked about the daily life of Finland while having breakfast. From the super-preserved forest lakes maintained by the natural ecology to the Finns care and education without any worries, from the expatriate work he had spent in China for a year, he talked about his favorite Shanghai braised pork, seemingly indifferent Finns. In fact, it is really warm.
The large log-coloured wooden house is the restaurant, kitchen and bathroom in the public area. The five red cabins are the places to sleep at night. All these wooden houses are built by the owner Esko himself. In the winter, these red cabins can be dragged at will, and if you wish, Esko will take you to the frozen Lake Inari. There is a mobile sauna outside the house, and it is also Esko's own. It is super powerful, too admire him!
