The overcast skies added a serene and mysterious charm to this historic site, making it the perfect backdrop for wearing a hanbok and immersing ourselves in Korea’s rich past. Gyeonggijeon was built in 1410 during the Joseon Dynasty to enshrine the portrait of King Taejo, the founder of the dynasty. Walking through the tall pine trees and traditional gates in our hanbok, we felt as though we had traveled back to the Joseon era. The solemnity of the shrine and the beauty of the surrounding traditional architecture made the visit unforgettable. Despite the gray skies, the cultural depth and historical significance of Gyeonggijeon shone brightly, leaving us deeply moved.

This was my first time staying at a Hanok guesthouse, and it was a great experience. If you haven't tried it yet, you should give it a go. Environment: Clean and hygienic, and relatively new. The floor heating was on during the cold weather, making it very warm and comfortable. Bathroom: After searching for a long time, I finally found a place with a semi-wet and dry separation (with a glass screen - I don't like it when the bathroom gets all wet) and it's spacious enough. Location: Near Jeonju Hanok Village, within walking distance to most attractions. You make your own bed with traditional bedding, which is quite interesting. If you're visiting Jeonju, consider this place. I would stay here again on my next visit to Jeonju.

Visiting Gon-go Botanical Garden was a quiet and beautiful experience. The garden is an oasis of tranquility and natural beauty, with plants and flowers of various colors and shapes. I wandered through the shaded walkways between giant trees and enjoyed seeing rare and different plant species. The small lake and wooden bridge added a charming feel to the place, making it ideal for rest and meditation. I also enjoyed sitting in a designated rest area where I could enjoy the landscape and fresh air. Visiting the arboretum was a great opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the beauty and biodiversity of nature in its finest form.

During weekdays and weekends, the guesthouse meat restaurant is always busy with reservations and lots of people I've been to Gohyangyeok Guesthouse Main Branch! It's a place certified as delicious by the waiting and the number of visitors~ The meat is said to be the top 1% of the highest quality Korean pork from each region! No wonder.. the meat was so delicious👍🏻 They grill it all for you, and the price is so reasonable that I liked it even more! The highest quality Korean pork, aged for over 10 days, comes pre-grilled. It's sizzled on an iron pot lid and eaten with green onion kimchi, and it's impossible not to be delicious 😊 We ordered aged pork belly, aged neck meat, pork skin, Keli/Terra beer, and beef bone bibim noodles! #localescapes It's Jeonju Hanok Village. It's a pity that it's becoming a village of shops that look like hanok, rather than the unique beauty of the quiet hanok. But I think it's a good place to visit for those who like clean retro sensibilities. I think foreigners look good in hanbok, too.The statue of Jesus, the Pietà replica, that greeted us with open arms in the electric cathedral was also wonderful.

The threshold located in front of Jeonra Gamyeong on Jeonju Werigan-gil is a bar run by the owner of the brunch restaurant Hey Street. #Hanok I'll introduce you to a good place to take a walk and see the night view in Jeonju!! It's Omokdae, located close to the Hanok Village. 🤗 You can sit and rest at Omokdae, and it's a great place to take pictures in front of it!! Also, you have to walk for about 10 minutes to get to Omokdae, but it's charming and a great place to walk. ㅎㅎ ☑️Location: Omokdae (55 Girin-daero, Wansan-gu, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do) ☑️Information: - You have to walk up for about 10 minutes!! - When you go up, you can see Jeonju Hanok Village at a glance✨ - It's also great to take pictures with Omokdae Hanok🤍 - You have to park at the bottom and walk up (the parking space is narrow!) Jeonju has a special place in my heart. People lives in a slower pace here compare to Seoul and I just love the hanok village. Did a hanok stay here and absolutely love it. The Hanok Village is a must visit! It is wayyyy better than those in Seoul to be honest. My highlight of the trip would be Chokso Cafe in Omokdae. The cafe is under the real hanok. Deokjin Park in Jeonju is a recreational park around Deokjin Lake, and is currently a beloved park for Jeonju citizens. It is also a representative park of Deokjin-gu, Jeonju! In May, the water surface is filled with lotuses and irises, and I was so glad that there were still lotuses when I visited in July. 😙😙 The library in the park, made of a hanok, is really beautiful, and on the day I visited, it was drizzling, so the library on a rainy day was really charming. ☺️ The scenery was so artistic that I thought the rain actually made Deokjin Park, full of lotuses, even more attractive. 🫶🏻 Deokjin Park, where lotuses are in full bloom, is the perfect healing spot! #JeonjuTravel #PlacesToVisitInJeonju #DeokjinPark #JeonjuDeokjinPark #DeokjinParkLotus

Location: 24 Dongmun-gil, Wansan-gu, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do I visited Janggane Wangjokbal, a famous restaurant located near the Hanok Village. The pig's feet are very soft and delicious, with no gamey smell at all. The combination of Makguksu and pig's feet is good. This restaurant especially provides bean sprout soup as a service, so it was good to enjoy with alcohol. Jeonju, South Korea is a city that has a beautiful ancient village with winding alleys of traditional buildings. Best yet, many of these buildings are guesthouses where you can stay in a traditional room. There are lots of lovely handicrafts, an arts district, a tiny town full of wall murals, and a great foodie area as well. It is easily reached by train from Seoul; took about 1.5 hours.

A bit late to say to talk about autumn in spring , or another round is talking ahead what to do in your next South Korea autumn trip . One of my bucket list done !! Hiking Daedunsan, at 878M . Actually Daedunsan isn’t the highest peak you will find in South Korea, but it’s rocky outcrops and famous cloud bridge and steep stairs will easily make it worth your while to travel and hike here. But , if you don’t want to hike , there is cable car will be bring you to the base of cloud bridge and suspension stairs, but you still need to hike up some stairs though 🤭🤭!! Spend your day there with Mother Nature and appreciate yourself with beautiful 🍂 feel !!! How to get there - I took bullet train from Seoul to Daejeon and take bus to so-beau bus terminal and took bus 34 to the rest area , and walk 2 km to the base of the parking lots( where by you can take cable car). But , you are staying in Seoul, you must be like me taking first train and first bus , I even still need to wait for first bus when I reach to So- Beau bus terminal . And you can spend almost half day and enjoy local food before you go back to Seoul in the evening. Such a worth day hiking ever. Jeonju Hanok Village is a historical place located south of Seoul. Here you can find traditional Korean houses that are dated back as far as the Joseon Dynasty. The houses are now used as shops, restaurants and museums to showcase the many traditions of South Korea, such as rice wine making. It is about 2.5 hours journey by train from Seoul. Some of the popular attractions in Jeonju is to stay in one of the Hanok houses. #newyearadventure This is the Jeonju Nanjang and Memory Museum located at the edge of Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeonju city. It is a retro style theme park where you can experience what it’s like in the 20th century in Korea~ There are about 70 theme zones in that small area. There are classrooms, karaoke/disco room, retro gaming machines for you to play! They even show how old jajjangmyeon shops looked like in the past~ It was a nice and fun experience

It was a good place because there was a separate personal brazier and each room had a quiet atmosphere where you could focus on conversation and eating. It was good for getting in the mood because it was more private than noisy. The raw beef was not too seasoned and had a mild taste. It was also good because you could enjoy various flavors depending on the part of the meat. The meat is very soft and it is easy to eat because it is cooked over charcoal. There are various sauces and side dishes, so you can eat it without getting tired of it. It also goes well with alcohol. It is especially good with Makguksu or steamed eggs. It is also good to eat it with Muksabal! Hanok is a hit in Jeonju and many visitors would like to have the experience to stay in a Hanok (Korean traditional house) in Jeonju. Most hanok is made of wood but this traditional house is partially made of stra. This guesthouse, named Jeonju Geunsunae Chogajip is a very traditional simple guesthouse offering guest an experience to stay in houses made of strawgrass. It has 5 small rooms for guest to choose from, and the garden is very beautiful, full of chrysantymum flowers. The owner also offers guest a welcome traditional tea when arriving. At the back entrance of Jeonju Hanok Village there lies a pavillion on top of a steep hill, called Omokdae. The story behind this pavillion is that Yi Seong Gye, later King Taejo who founded the Joseon dynasty, stopped by this pavillion after the victory against Japanese invaders in one of the war. The word carvings are writings from King Gojong. From the top of the pavilion one can have a wide view of Jeonju Hanok village. The foliage is also very nice around the pavillion, whereby autumn leaves turned red and yellow beautifying the area. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

In Jeonju Hanok Village there lies a village school (Hyanggyo, 향교) where scholars living nearby receives their education here. This school was built in the 15th century, destroyed during Japanese invasion, then rebuilt again. Similar to other Confucian academy, the mai building is named Daesungjeon, meaning hall of great success, houses the tablets of Confucius and his notable disciples. At the back of the of the hall is Myeongryuntang, means to understand the proper way, is the hall where teaching occurs. There is a gingko tree planted more than 400 years ago, which is a symbol of purity and strong, as gingko trees never invite any pests. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

Autumn is mesmerizing with the colourful foliages, keeping one's mood joyful in the cold weather. Jeonju, being one of the city at Jeollabuk do, does not lose its charm as well. Being well known about its traditional hanok village, the town is so vibrant by welcoming tourists from all around Korea as well as foreigners. The leaves changed colour from green to yellow, red and orange makes the city more charming and attractive than usual. Gaeksa is the big market in Jeonju. It is crowd especially on weekend. Mostly people come here for shopping. The products here price are acceptable. #joenju

For those who want to find a quiet and relaxing park near Jeonju city, it is a place where we can enjoy sunset, and having family time. If you bring mattress, you can sit by the riverside enjoy chatting and snack with friends or family. It takes about 20 mins by bike from Jeonbuk National University.
