This trip to Nanchang, China, was really an unforgettable journey. I was just planning to walk around and see the scenery, but the beauty of Nanchang was far beyond my imagination. Not only is the city lively and friendly, but the natural landscape and cultural relics are also very charming. It can really be said to be a city that is surrounded by mountains and rivers and blends the past and the present. Baoyu Tower in the night is gorgeous and moving The tower with bright lights in the photo is one of the most shocking pictures I have taken at night. Baoyu Tower becomes extremely spectacular under the lights at night, with layers of blue and orange light, like a ladder to heaven. That night, I specially put on Hanfu, held a lantern, and stood in front of the tower for a photo. I felt like I had traveled to ancient times, and the atmosphere was dreamy and romantic. There were many tourists coming and going in front of the tower, but everyone was very polite and gave each other space to take pictures. Many people also wore traditional costumes, and the whole atmosphere was very cultural. The spectacular Sandiequan Waterfall is magnificent In addition to the cultural customs, Nanchang also has very magnificent natural scenery. I didn't get a single photo, but I spent 2 days and 1 night to create this hassle-free guide, including routes, dining, accommodations, and photo spots, all without a drone! If you're planning to visit Wangxiangu, make sure to read this! 🚗【Transportation】 ❇️ There is a high-speed train from Shangrao Station (30 RMB/person) or you can take a ride-hailing car, which takes about 1 hour. There are plenty of parking spaces. ❇️ If you choose an internal homestay, you can get off at the homestay center to save half the walking distance. ❇️ There are no shuttle buses inside the scenic area, and there are many steps in the valley, so you have to walk. 🎫【Tickets】 120 RMB/person (exit before 22:00), you need to buy another ticket for the next day. Staying in an internal homestay can waive the double ticket fee. 🏠【Accommodation】 ❇️ There are private homestays outside the scenic area, which are cheaper. ❇️ However, I prefer staying inside the scenic area, which is well-managed, has better conditions, better views, less walking, and includes breakfast and two-day tickets for two people. ⚠️ Internal homestays range from 699 to over 10,000 RMB. How to choose? ✅ Wangxiangu homestays are divided into two types: cliffside homestays and fairy homestays. I don't recommend cliffside ones as they are expensive and require climbing stairs repeatedly without elevators. ✅ Fairy homestays include Qingyue, Cuiwei, Yunguang, and Taixiao. I recently visited Wangxiangu in Jiangxi over the weekend and have some practical advice to share. Is it worth visiting? I personally think it is, but timing is crucial! During the day, it might seem ordinary, but once the lights are on at night, it's truly stunning. I recommend arriving around 5 PM to catch both the sunset and the night view. The blue hour (half an hour after sunset) is particularly beautiful with a blue sky. The night view is also impressive, with bonfire performances and other shows adding to the lively atmosphere. Be sure to bring a fan as the entire area is outdoors with no air conditioning. It can get very hot, especially in summer with many tourists. Even on a cloudy day, I sweated a lot. Check the weather in advance, and if it's sunny, bring an umbrella, sunscreen, and a hat as it can be both hot and sunny. Also, bring filling snacks and refreshing drinks. There are many dining options in the area, but most lack air conditioning, making it very hot. Only a few restaurants have air conditioning, and they might be booked by tour groups during summer, leaving no seats. You might want to bring your own food to have a quick bite when hungry. For photography, the best spots are Baige Bridge and Baihe Cliff. The blue hour is the best time for photos. If you have a drone, bring it along as some popular angles can only be captured with one. Regarding accommodation, staying in the area depends on your budget. If you have a higher budget, staying at a hotel is convenient and allows you to see the sunrise the next day. If not, staying outside is fine as the night view is the main attraction. If you have time and want to enjoy water activities, try the rafting. Which one to visit? Nearby Wunvzhou, Gexiancun, and Wangxiangu are all man-made attractions, mainly featuring night lights with different styles. Wunvzhou has more performances, Gexiancun seems to have dragon dances, and Wangxiangu has beautiful lighting. Choose based on your preference; I personally like Wangxiangu's style. 2. Is it worth visiting? For me, it was worth it. I was attracted by the architectural layout, and the real scene is not much different from the online photos. It's worth it if you can take good photos. There are many tour groups, so choose to go during the off-season to enhance your experience. 3. Visiting time: Once you exit with a ticket, you can't re-enter. You can enter around 3 PM; the core area is a bit far from the entrance. Arrive at the core area around 5 PM to see the sunset and night view. The blue hour (half an hour after sunset) is particularly beautiful! The night view is also stunning! 4. What's inside? Honestly, there's not much to do. It's mainly an ancient-style snack street and cultural shops, mainly for photography. We took photos until 9 PM before returning to the homestay. The performances are not very impressive.
