a sea of pink and white in Jinhae
Anticipating an earlier Spring because of global warming, I booked our trip for the last week of March. As we got closer to our departure date though, it became clear to me that we were two weeks too early. True enough, there were little more than red bulbs on the trees when we were there. But luckily for us, there was also Jinhae.
About a four-and-a-half hour bus ride south of Seoul, Jinhae is a sleepy naval town that’s home to the biggest cherry blossom festival in South Korea. It’s warmer there so their festival starts earlier, around the first week of April. This year, it was from March 24-30. We weren’t going back to Busan until the 28st of March, so we thought what better way to spend our last full day in South Korea, than to be surrounded by a sea of pink and white in Jinhae?

Cherry blossom in the Jinhae
Jinhae is a charming city in South Korea, famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms and the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival. The city becomes a breathtaking spectacle of pink and white flowers, attracting thousands of visitors every spring.
One of the most iconic spots in Jinhae is the Yeojwacheon Stream, home to the famous Romance Bridge. During the cherry blossom season, this area transforms into a picturesque scene straight out of a fairy tale. The stream is lined with cherry trees in full bloom, and the Romance Bridge offers a perfect vantage point to enjoy the stunning view. Many visitors stroll along the stream, taking in the beauty and capturing unforgettable photos.
The Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, held annually in April, is South Korea's largest cherry blossom festival. It features various events such as parades, cultural performances, and fireworks, making it a vibrant celebration of spring. The festival honors the city’s naval history and provides a unique opportunity to enjoy both the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Jinhae.
Visitors also highly recommend exploring the city’s naval base and the Jinhae Tower for panoramic views of the blooming cherry trees. The combination of the floral beauty, historical significance, and festive atmosphere makes Jinhae a must-visit destination during the cherry blossom season.
In summary, Jinhae, with its stunning cherry blossoms, the enchanting Romance Bridge, and the lively Gunhangje Festival, offers an unforgettable experience for visitors. It’s a perfect blend of natural beauty, history, and culture, making it a highlight of any trip to South Korea.#jinhae #진해군항제
Lovely cherry blossom town for a day visit from Busan
Was intending to visit Jinhae to check out the lovely blossoms, and instead of taking a tour, we are so glad we did it OTOT. It was super easy taking a bus from the Busan bus terminal and was an hour journey to Jinhae. We roamed around the town a little, went to the famous stream and walked up the Owl staircase to a higher platform for a bird's eye view of the small town. Had puffer fish soup somewhere near the starting point of the stream. In the end we were a but tired to travel to the other photo spot of the train station. All in all, it was a very nice relaxing trip to catch blossoms (though it wasnt at the full blossom time).

Don't miss the cherry blossoms in Jeonhae when enjoying cherry blossoms in Korea. The cherry blossoms in Jeonhae are very famous in Korea. Every year at the end of March, many tourists come to check in. When you go to Jeonhae to see the cherry blossoms, Yuzo River and Qinghe Station Park are must-visit places.
On both sides of the Yuzo River are large cherry blossom trees. Standing on the bridge and taking photos, it forms a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel! This is also a frequently used filming location for many Korean films and TV dramas! There is a Korean food street nearby where you can taste Korean cuisine, as well as various festive events to watch.
The Qinghe Station, which has a hundred years of history, is no longer in use now, but the tracks and old trains are still preserved. Against the backdrop of cherry blossoms, it makes for a great scene!
