2024 Jongno-gu Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in November)
If you want to create your own masterpiece, check out Night Fruity, a pottery workshop and showroom.
Today, I want to introduce you to one of my favorite places to visit during the cool autumn season💁🏻♀️. It's Night Fruity, a pottery workshop and showroom located in Jongno!
📍Address: 41-6, Daehak-ro 11-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul
⏰Hours: Closed every Tuesday, Wednesday to Monday 14:00~20:00
🖍️Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There are many pottery workshops and showrooms, but what makes Night Fruity special is its unique and fun pottery pieces! They sell cute and collectible cups and bowls that you won't find anywhere else!
You can also sign up for a one-day class to create your own piece! It doesn't have to be a cup or bowl; you can make something like a boot-shaped holder, just like I did! And don't worry if it's your first time; the instructor will help you, so it's not difficult at all!👢
(You can sign up for the one-day class on the Night Fruity website!)
How about an autumn outing to Night Fruity, where you can create your own pottery and explore a showroom full of fun and unique pieces?💁🏻♀️⭐️

A hearty boiled pork slices in Jongno 3 ga, Choi buja Bossam
#myhiddengems
Located in a small alley at Jongno 3 ga, this nice little restaurant is famous for its boiled pork slices and pork throtters. We opted for the set of pork slices and fried squid combo as we do not wanna have too much meat, and they tasted very good. Every table was given a plate of fried fish on the house, and a pot of stewed pork bone soup. We waited for 15 minutes and the restaurant was in full house, which further gave a live testimony on how the food is nice. I will definitely come back again for this nice pork slices.
Bukchon Hanok Village
Bukchon Hanok Village is located in South Korea, Seoul, Jongno-gu. It is one of the popular attractions in South Korea.
Bukchon Hanok Village is a Korean traditional village in Seoul with a long history located on the top of a hill between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. The traditional village is composed of many alleys, hanok and is preserved to show a 600-year-old urban environment.
Bukchon Hanok Village has a lot of cultural centers and museums that showcase the culture of Joseon Dynasty. It's a unique display of the dynasty architecture and way of life. One of the main attractions in Seoul it also offers juxtaposition between modern and traditional aspects of the city.

Blue Bottle chic cafe
Blue Bottle is a chic cafe that now has a branch in downtown Seoul. The decor is minimalistic and simple but the open area makes it spacious and comfortable.
The coffee is slightly pricier than usual but very tasty. Grab a seat by the window for a nice view of the surrounding street. The staff are also very nice and welcoming.
Definitely recommend if you're looking for some good coffee in a nice decor.

Hit up Egg Drop for the ultimate yolkporn. This shop serves jazzed-up renditions of Korean street toast, which is the local take on the quintessential breakfast egg sandwich.
Egg Drops’s menu consists of different variations on Korean street toast. Made with fluffy slices of sweet brioche toast, most of the sandwiches come with a thick layer of silky scrambled eggs, accompanied with your choice of filling.
The special egg and cream sauce is what makes the sandwich – savory and sweet, with a creaminess that balances out the saltiness of the meat. Some even claim that it’s better than the wildly popular Isaac Toast!
This place is highly recomment it if you visit Seoul!

Strolling Along the Palace During Autumn Foliage Season.
From late October to early November in South Korea, it's the autumn foliage season. Walking along the road from Gyeongbokgung Palace to Samcheong-dong, you'll be surrounded by ginkgo trees turning a brilliant yellow. It's incredibly beautiful, just like in a series. You can take a long walk because the whole area is covered in yellow. Don't miss it if you're visiting during this time.
Autumn in Korea
The first week of November in Korea there is nice weather(13°-25°),fall foliage and hot soup to make you a pleasant day.

Highly recommended for those looking for a walking course or outing spot in Seoul.
Exhibition of Hanok and Practical Beauty in Seochon, Jongno 'Room, Naturally So'
The Arumjigi Foundation is hosting the 'Room, Naturally So' exhibition. The foundation's space spans from the basement to the rooftop on the third floor, making it a great place to explore leisurely.
There is also a dedicated cafe on the second floor, making it a perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee.

Taste of Tradition: Exploring Korea's Street Food Scene!
Exploring the vibrant streets of Korea with an unforgettable feast! Starting with spicy tteokbokki, these chewy rice cakes are perfectly paired with crispy twigim (tempura), savory sundae (blood sausage), and delightful mandu (dumplings). I also indulged in tender steamed pork knuckle and boneless chicken feet, along with unlimited odeng (fish cake) soup. Adding to the spread is fresh gimbap, filled with vegetables and seaweed. For a sweet finish, I enjoyed yakgwa (honey cookies), dalgona (traditional candy), and creamy 10cents cheese, all complemented by a refreshing sikhye (sweet rice drink). A true celebration of Korean street food culture! #Tteokbokki #Twigim #Sundae #Mandu #PorkKnuckle #BonelessChickenFeet #Odeng #Gimbap #Yakgwa #Dalgona #Sikhye #KoreanStreetFood #twigim #10centscheese #FoodieAdventure#100waysoftravel
Beetle Beetle Beetle Taco is a hot spot these days.
Seosulla-gil, which is a trending place these days! Among them, Beetle Beetle Beetle Taco is extremely popular!
It's a famous taco restaurant, so you have to be there early to get in!
Even on weekdays, you have to wait for 3 hours to eat there🥲
I don't understand why you have to order one drink per person even if you order food, but it's worth visiting at least once!
Dotori Garden: Famous Greek Yogurt Shop
📍Dotori Garden
🚶3-minute walk from Ankoku Station
Atmosphere/Facilities👼A space that feels like stepping into a Ghibli movie
There are photo spots with original characters
Highlights👼The interior and food are so cute that they are perfect for social media.
Although there is usually a long line, the atmosphere makes it enjoyable.
Average Price👼From 2500 yen to 5000 yen
Depending on what you order, it can be quite expensive.
Ordering yogurt, drinks, cookies, and acorn bread costs around 4500 yen.
Review👼When I went for a preview the day before, there was indeed a long line.
If you line up 30 minutes before the morning opening, you can get in right after it opens.
I stayed at a nearby hotel, so it was relatively easy for me to go, but if you take the train, you have to wake up much earlier, which might be tough.
Budget per person👼Around 3000 yen? It depends on what you order.

[Jongno] Daehak-ro Cafe Artista
The Four Seasons of Artista each have their own distinct personality.
Renoir was a floral iced tea that captured the warm sunlight and subtle sweetness of spring. I preferred it as an iced tea rather than a floral tea.
Monet had a rich pistachio flavor that I really enjoyed, and the coffee was strong yet surprisingly clean in the aftertaste.
Van Gogh had a ratio of about 2 parts lemon to 8 parts coconut. It felt like drinking real coconut juice with a shy hint of lemon.

📌 Paiki

📍 81 Seosulla-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Paiki
Paiki is a cafe located on Seosulla-gil. The window seats are quite popular, so it's hard to find an empty spot. The interior is filled with various books, making it a great place to relax and heal while reading.
Seosulla-gil in Jongno is a hot spot street, so many stores are often crowded. However, Paiki, being a book cafe, has a generally quiet atmosphere, making it a perfect place to enjoy some peaceful leisure time.
If you're looking for a place to visit in Jongno or a hot spot on Seosulla-gil, I recommend Paiki.

Salt Bread Hotspot! A Must-Visit for Dates!
Artist Bakery in Anguk is a super famous spot for salt bread!!
Once you try the salt bread at Artist Bakery, you'll never forget the taste!!

Jongno - Jungle
A place introduced by a friend who said it has a really good atmosphere. Walking through maze-like paths and opening the door, you will find an unexpected Buddha statue and a restaurant with a beautiful view. The stepping stone-like path over the flowing water and the subtly divided seating areas make it a great date spot. It seems that many people make reservations before coming. Since it's at the top of a hill, take a car! The food is clean and neat! If you can't eat cilantro, ask them to leave it out :) Be sure to order the watermelon juice :)

Jongno Solo Dining Spots: Noodle Udon and Salmon Rice Bowl Restaurant
⏰ 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM (Closed every Sunday and Monday)
📍 65-6 Jahamun-ro 7-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, 1st Floor
Jongno in Seoul is a great place to explore alone. It's a neighborhood filled with attractions like Gyeongbokgung Palace, the National Palace Museum, Jongmyo Shrine, and the National Folk Museum.
While traveling around Jongno, there's a great spot for solo dining. Deokinara specializes in noodles, udon, and salmon rice bowls.
Deokinara has solo dining tables and bar tables, and the interior is charmingly decorated. The space is quite large, and the turnover rate is fast, so even if there's a wait, it moves quickly.
The udon, packed with ingredients, is delicious, and the salmon rice bowl, topped with plenty of salmon, is also a treat. You can choose according to your preference.
