I had the chance to experience a traditional Song Dynasty banquet at Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, and it was definitely a unique dining experience. The setting is the highlight. The entire environment is beautifully designed to recreate the atmosphere of the Song Dynasty, from the lantern-lit surroundings to the staff dressed in traditional costumes. It really feels immersive. Before the meal, there is a short welcoming ceremony, and throughout the dinner, there are live performances such as traditional music and dance, which keeps the experience engaging. As for the food, it is more about presentation and cultural experience rather than taste. The dishes are delicate and lightly flavored, which may not suit those who prefer stronger flavors. Pros: ✔ Beautiful and immersive atmosphere ✔ Cultural performances during the meal ✔ Great for photos Overall, I would recommend it as a cultural experience rather than just a place to eat.

I am sharing my experience climbing one of the top 5 mountains in China with an elevation of about 1491.7m. This trek was incredibly tiring, for someone that does not trek regularly. Getting a pole to aid in the trek was a very good idea. You get some balance from it and it serves as a motivator. ⛰️ 嵩山 (Songshan Mountain/Mount Song) My hotel in Zhengzhou to the 汽车站 (Zhengzhou Long Distance Bus Central Station) was a 30 mins walk. I initially wanted to get the earliest bus but I missed it because I couldn’t find the long distance bus station. I ended up taking the second bus there. It’s the most convenient and gets you there within a couple of hours. Mount Song is in 📍Kaifeng (开封), where the Shaolin Temple (少林寺)is. Some people will do two days here but I wasn’t interested in the temple. Tips: 1. The food outside was pretty bad so I suggest you pack something before going into the mountain. There’s an entrance ticket you must buy before entering. 2. There is NO cable car to take you there and down. It was very foggy when I was there in October. 3. Toilets are NOT available everywhere. So plan wisely. That one toilet I desperately needed to go to was kilometres away and incredibly dirty(hasn’t been washed in decades maybe) plus it did not have a wash basin. 4. Always bring wet tissues and toilet papers you will need it. 5. Very few pit stops with food and drinks so plan ahead. 6. If you try hailing a didi or something, you might not be able to get one because it’s pretty secluded. You may want to haggle for a trip to the nearest bus station with the people outside. I had to rush to take the last bus back to Zhengzhou, thankfully I made it. P.S. it gets extremely dark in the mountains when the sun sets so you must bring a torch or else you will be stranded.
