The town of Kaş on the Mediterranean coast is small but very picturesque: cobbled streets, flower-covered houses, blue shutters, and quaint balconies. 💙 This whole aesthetic is reminiscent of Mediterranean coastal towns, and for good reason. These territories used to belong to Greece, so their traces are still felt in every corner. Kaş is even called the most "Greek" town in Turkey. There's no traditional city beach in Kaş. Beach clubs with convenient stairs leading directly into the sea are located along the coast. And if you're looking for a real beach, I recommend visiting Kaputaş Beach. That picture-postcard beach is considered one of the most beautiful in Turkey. 😍🌊 In short, if you enjoy Greek vibes, the pristine Mediterranean Sea, and a laid-back atmosphere, you should definitely visit this Turkish town. 😉

In early January 2026, the weather here was gorgeous - sunny, pleasant breeze, blooming shrubs. Kalkan is about 20-30 minutes away by bus. It has a similar atmosphere to Kas, but in January it was very empty, so we preferred Kas for its liveliness. These small towns are best explored by simply walking around and soaking in the atmosphere. In Kas, besides the old town, I recommend visiting Antiphellos Ancient City (it offers a beautiful view of the town) and climbing up to the Sleeping Giant viewpoint (we didn’t make it all the way, stopping at a large rock along the way, which also offers great views). In Kalkan, stroll along Mustafa Kocakaya Street, Kalkan Atatürk Cad., N5 Street, and Süleyman Yılmaz Street. There’s also a very picturesque seaside area here. We stayed in Kas at CARPEDIEM SUITE HOTEL - the balcony view here is stunning, highly recommended.

Getting to Kas You can get to Kas from two airports – Dalaman and Antalya. However, getting there by public transportation, especially from Dalaman (as there is no public transportation), is problematic: from Antalya Airport, you need to take tram T1A or bus #600 to the bus station. From the bus station, you can travel to Kas. Schedules are subject to change. Therefore, the easiest way to get to Kas from the airport is by booking a transfer. Hotels In Kas, you can book a hotel either in the city or on the peninsula – depending on your needs. If you don't want to spend evenings strolling around the city or visiting cafes, and would rather spend time at the hotel/by the pool/by the sea with a beautiful view, then choose a hotel on the peninsula. However, if you prefer a more active vacation or don't want to constantly spend money on taxis/wait for a bus, I recommend staying in the city proper. In the city, consider the Luna Kas or Hera Hotel, and on the peninsula, the Villa Tamara. However, when choosing a hotel, consider your preferences, reviews, and location. Mobile Communications Buying a physical SIM card isn't cost-effective; an eSIM is easier and cheaper. Consider your budget and needs. Be sure to check if your phone supports eSIM before purchasing. Currency It's best to bring dollars and exchange them for lira in Turkey. DO NOT exchange them at the airport—it's not cost-effective, especially if you don't need public transportation to Kas. Olive Garden Kaş Kahvaltı - Turkish breakfast, beautiful, green, and cozy. 8 minutes by car from the center, filling, delicious, beautiful grounds. Hold and Bite - burgers with truffle sauce Beaches The most important and beautiful beach is Kaputaş (entrance 50 TL, umbrella 230 TL, hammock 230 TL – prices subject to change). It's a 20-25-minute bus ride from the bus station. Halk - Kas belediyesi Halk, or simply Halk, or the public city beach, is free. Located on a peninsula, take the bus from the stop near the mosque. There's plenty of space, a cafe, sun loungers, and umbrellas. The entrance is gently sloping and pebbly. Beach Clubs You can choose a beach club in Kas or go to Kalkan. Kas: Leymona, Doria, Helios (Kas Camping) Kalkan: Zest, Lures Hotel & Beach Club, Mahal Beach Club If you're staying in a hotel in town, I recommend looking into day passes, such as Villa Tamara. Where to go or what to see. 1. The Lycian Way and the Sleeping Giant (beautiful viewpoint). The hike to the nearest point (the flag) takes 1-1.5 hours, with stops, and 1 hour back. The view is worth it! 2. Patara (ancient city and beach, dunes), beautiful sunset. 3. Abandoned water park. Almost at the very end of the peninsula, to the left of the Kumsal Hotel, there's an abandoned hotel with a water park (next to Villa Tamara). 4. The amphitheater (to watch the sunset), located at the junction of the peninsula and Kaş. 5. Walk to the new marina. 6. Kaş is an incredibly beautiful Turkish city with a Greek vibe. If you're planning a short trip to this city, I've put together an itinerary for you to spend unforgettable days in this cozy place. Day 1 In the morning, I suggest strolling around the city, exploring its streets, and taking photos on Süleyman Sandıkçı Sk Street, near the harbor. There, near the harbor, are boats moored and people selling excursions. I highly recommend (depending on the price and the boat) taking a boat tour to the sunken city of Kekova, disembarking in Simena. After the walk and lunch, we head to the stop near the mosque and take a bus to the peninsula and Halk Beach. There, we rent an umbrella and a sun lounger to avoid sunburn. In the evening, we dine at a sempati (veal cheeks). Day 2 We'll have breakfast at the hotel and depart in the morning for an excursion to Kekova. A hearty lunch awaits us on the boat (choose between chicken or fish, but I recommend the fish). We'll enjoy the walk, swim in the clear sea, and buy ice cream in Simena. We'll return to the hotel in the late afternoon. We'll have dinner in Ege and buy baklava at Nur Pastaneleri along the way. Day 3 We'll take a bus to Villa Tamara on the peninsula and buy a day pass there. The day pass requires a deposit, so we can use it for both lunch and dinner. We'll enjoy the natural beauty of the Greek island, the sea, and the pool. We'll take beautiful, memorable photos. As sunset approaches, we'll head to an abandoned water park to catch the sun. Day 4 In the morning, we'll go to the bus station and head to Kaputas Beach. Entrance, sun loungers, and umbrellas are not included, but they're not very expensive. We'll swim and have lunch. If you haven't been to Europe, you will really like this town. Crystal-clear azure sea, an amphitheater, restaurants with delicious food, and a public beach. I know people who rented a villa with their family and lived there for several months, but I would get bored very quickly. The town has many retirees from the UK and Russian expats. Kaş itself is small, and you can easily see everything in a day. However, my various friends note the special cozy atmosphere of this place and usually stay there for at least 3-4 days. Since I was traveling alone, 2 days were enough for me.

The section between Antalya and Fethiye is half mountain and half sea, truly beautiful to the point of tears. ▫️ 📍Kaputas Beach This beach is the hallmark of D400 and the most coveted beach for tourists from all over the world. The water is clear, the sand is fine, the sky is blue, and the sea is azure. Any beautiful words to describe this beach are not an exaggeration. There are several photo spots on the beach: 1⃣️Cliff Boulder: Located in the parking area by the road, here you can take a standard 'ID photo' with the sprawling beach. 2⃣️Wooden Walkway: Walk down the walkway, and the corner is the best spot to admire the beach! 3⃣️White Sand Beach: The sand is relatively coarse, but any casual shot here is a masterpiece. ▫️ 📍Cayagzi Youlu Beach Compared to Kaputas, this beach has far fewer people. The best things about this place were the terrace view and the breakfast. I was quite satisfied with the time spent having breakfast while looking at the sea in the morning, and it was even better because it felt like the breakfast was prepared personally every day. This was an unforgettable trip to Turkey, with experiences far exceeding my expectations, making me want to write a positive review for the first time!! The trip began in Istanbul. Our guide, Xiao Su, a Chinese who has lived in Turkey for nearly 20 years, was not only attentive and responsible but also connected Turkey’s history and culture vividly with her profound knowledge, which was a great help in understanding Istanbul’s historical sites. When we arrived in Cappadocia, we were incredibly lucky to take a hot air balloon ride early the next morning 🎈 (the experience of overlooking the unique landscape from the air was truly magical. We chose Butterfly’s service, booked by our concierge at the same market price. The pilot was very skilled and steady, and even I, who am afraid of heights, dared to try it). Our guide here, Vis, is a Turkish man fluent in eight languages, and his Chinese, self-taught, is quite fluent!! His humorous and friendly personality made the trip full of laughter. The itinerary was rich and just right, and he even took us to visit a ceramic town. Thanks to the car service, it was worth it; otherwise, going alone wouldn’t be. Unfortunately, in Fethiye, the wind was strong and it rained, so we couldn’t go paragliding, but this gave us a perfect reason to come back to Turkey. Passing through the town of Kaş on the D400 highway on a sunny day was unbelievably beautiful, far beyond what the camera could capture. The last stop, Pamukkale, coincided with a local festival and was very lively. Our English-speaking guide “Wang Hu Wei” was also very humorous, although we quickly forgot the local language he taught us, hahaha. Friendly tip: the ground in Pamukkale is quite rough, so be sure to bring thick socks. Throughout the trip, whether it was the concierge (Snow was very attentive and thorough, arranged everything well, and responded promptly), the guides, or the drivers, everyone was very friendly and enthusiastic (especially on the trip from Fethiye to Pamukkale, where they even prepared snacks for us, very thoughtful). We were very satisfied. The hotels were chosen for both convenience and comfort, very satisfying. Friendly tip: Not everyone locally speaks English, and since we usually travel independently, we found that a customized small group tour in Turkey is much more comfortable!!
