//Finland 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞// ° ° ° After visiting the reindeer farm on the second morning, we strolled around downtown Leyte, and took the train to Sørensen in the evening. The only activity in Sørensen was a ride on the icebreaker ship early the third morning! The whole activity took about half a day. We first boarded the ship to hear the crew's history, then toured the crew's rest cabin and bridge with the crew, and finally, we could wear lobster suits and go down into the icy sea. Our experience was rather unique. Originally, the icebreaker was supposed to go icebreaking out to sea, and we were supposed to go icebreaking in the middle of the sea. However, because the days leading up to our visit were relatively warm, the ice wasn't thick. The icebreaker is a large ship, and it requires very thick ice to go out to sea. So, after visiting the icebreaker, we experienced icebreaking a short distance from the shore, before transferring to their newer icebreaker, the Fiery Cross, to go icebreaking out. We watched the sunrise at the icebreaker, and the sunset at the Fiery Cross—we were very lucky! The person who helped me was very attentive, even tucking my bangs into the suit to ensure I looked good in photos—a very thoughtful touch. • Floating Experience: Once in the water, simply relax with your face up. The most tiring part is your neck (because you have to lift it slightly).
