Our perfect June in Sochi 🌊🏔️ If you think Sochi is all about beaches, you simply haven't seen it in June! We allocated five days for our trip, and it was the perfect quick recharge. Weather and atmosphere: June is the "golden time." The sweltering heat hasn't yet set in, the air is fresh (24–26°C), and the sea is already beginning to warm up gently. The city is literally immersed in greenery and flowers. Our 5-day itinerary: Day 1-2: Coastal Sochi. We strolled along the embankment, stopped by the Seaport for some aesthetically pleasing photos, and Navaginskaya Street (the local "Arbat" with palm trees). Day 3: Krasnaya Polyana (Mountain delight!). This was the highlight of the entire trip. We took the cable cars to the peak. The contrast was incredible: 25 degrees below, and snow still lay on the peaks above! The air was pure enough to drink. Day 4-5: Strolls through the Dendrarium and Southern Cultures parks, followed by a relaxing beach getaway (dolphins swam right up to the shore, it's no myth!), buying churchkhela at the market, and a farewell dinner overlooking the sunset. Tips for future adventurers: Bring a windbreaker to Polyana! Even if it's hot below, it can be cool and windy at the top. Comfortable shoes. You'll be hiking a lot in the mountains. Food. Krasnaya Polyana has plenty of great cafes with views, but the prices are "mountain prices." Look for cozy places in Esto-Sadok, where they're a bit more affordable. Verdict: Sochi in June is a dream. The mountains energize you, and the sea soothes you. 5 days were enough to fall in love and want to come back! ❤️

Zmeykovskiye Waterfalls are a scenic cascade hidden in the forested hills above Sochi, offering an easy half‑day escape from the city into cool shade, river sounds, and mountain air. The route is part of Sochi National Park and is suitable for most travelers: the path is marked, there are steps and small bridges, and the total walking time is usually about 1.5–2 hours at a relaxed pace. In summer, the natural rock pools at the foot of some falls turn into wild “jacuzzis”, where brave visitors cool off in the refreshing mountain water. Zmeykovskiye Waterfalls are close enough to visit in the morning and be back in Sochi for a seaside dinner, which makes them a perfect add‑on to a beach holiday. On the return trip, you can choose to go to Stalin's former residence and Mount Akhun. You can go to Stalin's first and then to Mount Akhun, because climbing the mountain is quite tiring. • Attractions recommended: • Olympic Park: It is recommended to go when it is getting dark, because there are lights, and pay attention to the closing time of the Ferris wheel and fountain. • Restaurant recommendation: You can search for nearby restaurants on Yandex, and two are recommended: seafood (Фразу мар) and Georgian buns (белые ночи).

When traveling to Russia, most people head to Moscow, St. Petersburg, or the Northern Lights, but I want to recommend a new place—Sochi. No wonder it is a great place for convalescence in Russia, where many Russian generals enjoy their retirement, and it is also a gathering place for the rich. Sochi offers a wide range of activities, mainly playing in the sea, mountains, and skiing. Sea activities: There is a pier where you can take a yacht to chase dolphins. Whether you can see them depends on luck, but it's more about experiencing a round trip in the Black Sea. Choose a good weather day, and the blue sky and sea are stunning. Price: 800 rubles per person for a shared boat, 8,000–12,000 rubles for a private boat, and a boat can accommodate seven or eight people. Beach: The beach near the pier has gentler waves and clearer water, with many tents set up by merchants where you can eat and watch the sea. However, the beach here has coarse sand and stones, not fine, and if you want to walk on the sand, it may feel uncomfortable, with stones as big as fists. Mountain activities: Apart from the flat beach, you have to climb mountains once you go ashore, so there are many hiking routes. Akhun Mountain is quite famous and not too difficult (I took a taxi for two hours to the hiking starting point, but encountered a mountain closure and couldn't go, so if any friends have been there, please share to make up for my regret). Skiing: Sochi's ski season is from December to May. If you are a skiing enthusiast, don't miss the Rose Valley. It has complete facilities, and friends who are not specifically here for skiing don't need to bring their own equipment. You can rent a full set of equipment at the Rose Valley ski resort by taxi. There are also restaurants and hotels in the ski resort, and the prices in the valley are higher. I took a taxi back to the city on the same day and didn't compare the hotel prices in the valley. Single skiing cost: ticket and cable car 3,550 rubles, full set of equipment 3,500–4,000 rubles. Sochi's cuisine is also not to be missed. It borders Georgia, with many Georgians living here, and is home to multiple ethnic groups, reflected in the fusion of various ethnic cuisines and abundant seafood. When I ate Georgian hand-grabbed rice in Sochi, I found it somewhat related to Xinjiang cuisine. If you are a meat lover, you can try the big barbecue here.

There is a 5-hour time difference between Russia and China, and 4 hours in summer. After a 9.5-hour flight, it was not yet 6:00 am local time. After arriving in Moscow, you need to go through customs first, and then go to the domestic departure level. There are not many passengers transferring to Europe at Moscow Airport now, but there are many people entering Moscow directly, so there are fewer people going through the domestic channel after entering the country, unlike the international transfer security check, which is crowded. After arriving at Sochi Airport, I drove along the coast and went to the Akhun Mountain Observation Tower. You can see the whole view of Sochi from the top floor. The ticket is RUB 100 per person. The view of the sea and snow from the observation tower is so beautiful that I want to scream! But the panoramic photo is not spectacular at all... But trust me! The real view is 10,000 times more beautiful! Ski tickets abroad do not include ski equipment, nor is there a so-called ski equipment hall, because most foreigners bring their own equipment; after buying ski tickets, you need to take the cable car up the mountain (security check is still required), and then go to the designated store to rent ski equipment. The place is generally small, and the price of ski equipment is RUB 3,100 for 2 people (including a locker for shoes). However, renting ski equipment here is not as casual as in China. In addition to asking for your shoe size, they will also ask for your height and weight to match the length of the skis and ski poles that suit you. You need to leave one person's passport as a deposit.
