Amami Islands travel itinerary ✈️ The other day, using "Dokoka ni Mile" (a JAL mileage service), I took a trip to the Amami Islands 😃 It was my first time in Amami. To end the trip just with Amami Oshima felt like a bit of a waste, so across Amami Oshima, Kikaijima, and Kakeromajima, I also enjoyed some island hopping. On Day 1, right after landing at the airport, I went straight into a whale-watching tour. I was only able to catch a glimpse of a fin. On Days 2 and 3, I headed to Kikaijima. I went cycling through the sugarcane fields and tasted some of the local specialties. On Day 4, I returned to Amami and went sightseeing while traveling south. On Day 5, I joined a tour of Kakeroma. You can reach Kakeroma in 15 minutes by marine taxi, but due to car rental issues and other logistics, I decided to join a guided tour. It was great to fully enjoy Kakeroma in a single day. They also took plenty of wonderful photos for me. On Day 6, I headed back to the airport to make my way home. I hope this serves as a helpful reference for a short week-long trip to Amami!

I went on a trip to Kikaijima with my family in the summer ✈️ It's a small island in Kagoshima, but it has a lot of nature and the sea is crystal clear and very beautiful. The airport is so small it's like a rural station! I had fries and mango juice from the convenience store in the airport and they were really delicious! The cafe in the second photo was so good that I went there twice in one day lol Typhoons often come in the summer, so it's best to check the weather forecast carefully before deciding on your schedule! I felt like there wasn't much to do because the island is so small!

Kikaijima, a small island next to Amami Oshima The beautiful beach here is Sugira Beach A beach with a truly cobalt blue sea. As the island was formed by the uplift of coral, each beach is beautiful and has a lot of coral. Sugira Beach is near the airport, and there are parks and lawns around it, so it can also be used as a place to relax. There are many shallow areas, so children can play safely and it is a very safe place. There is also a small sunshade hut, so you can enjoy it even if you come empty-handed.

#FlightReport A trip to Amami. Amami is nice, but I was also curious about Kikaijima, so I went there. I went with JAC, and although it looks like it's a long way away on the map, it's actually only about 10 minutes from departure to landing. It goes by in a flash. It's a small island, but the sea is beautiful and it's a peaceful place, so please go!

#AccommodationReview I went to Kikaijima in November. I stayed at Kikai Daiichi Hotel on Kikaijima. It was located right next to the airport and within walking distance of the shopping district, so I had a very comfortable stay. I was also happy to have chicken rice for breakfast, something you can only find in the Amami Islands!! The parking lot was also spacious.

Amami Airport ↔ Kikai Airport. The flight time was about 10 minutes. It was the second shortest flight in Japan after Kitadaito ↔ Minamidaito. It was a very unsettling flight as we had to land immediately after takeoff. I had wanted to visit Kikaijima for many years, and it was peaceful and the food was delicious! I enjoyed local ingredients such as luminous shell sashimi, sakuna, and khoomee. There were no major tourist attractions, but there were many photogenic spots such as coral stone walls, witch's trees, and sugar roads. There were also beautiful villas and weekly houses for accommodation, so I was able to enjoy the island at my own pace. I recommend it for those who want to get away from the city and relax on the island! #AirTravel #777
