As expected from the Novotel brand, the rooms are excellent. They are highly comfortable, spotless, and fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. The hotel grounds are expansive, offering dining areas, beautiful swimming pools, and an on-site café featuring a Starbucks coffee bar.

The kids had a blast swimming, playing in the sand, and running along the beach all day long. As for the adults, we just chilled out, catching the sea breeze and listening to the waves. The vibe here is super peaceful, making it the perfect getaway to escape the hustle and bustle 🌴⛺ This beachfront campground is nicely shaded, with a wide beach, crystal-clear water, and pretty comprehensive facilities. It’s perfect for campers, families, and fishing enthusiasts alike 🎣 If you love fishing by the sea or just finding a quiet spot to watch the sunrise and sunset, you're going to absolutely love it here. For us, it’s definitely a vacation spot we want to visit again. Getting to spend quality time with the family and seeing the kids so happy makes it entirely worth it ❤️ 🏕️⛺ Besides the great vibe that's perfect for camping, relaxing, swimming, and fishing, there's also a fresh seafood market nearby. For our family trip this time, we chose to stay at Baan Suan Ao Khai, and I must say we were absolutely blown away! ❤️ There were 5 of us in total, and we only paid 2,600 baht for the room. It's such a steal when you consider the fantastic location and the amazing vibe. The biggest highlight is that the rooms are literally right on the beach, just steps away from the waves. Open the door, and you're instantly greeted by the soothing sound of the ocean. The atmosphere is incredible, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway. You can just sit back, enjoy the sea breeze, take in the sunset, and take leisurely strolls along the shore. The room itself was clean and spacious, easily accommodating our group. It's an ideal choice for families or groups of friends looking for a budget-friendly beach retreat. If you're on the hunt for reasonably priced beachfront accommodation with a tranquil atmosphere, gorgeous views, and great value for money, I highly recommend Baan Suan Ao Khai. 🌴🌊 It's totally worth the price and the views—we went home with our hearts completely full! 💕☺️

But Rayong actually hides another incredible spot that's perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts: the Rayong Botanical Garden. Spanning over 1,500 acres (3,800 rai) of vast wetlands, this area is a sanctuary for more than 400 rare and endangered plant species. Trust me, if you love peaceful natural vibes and fresh air, you’re going to be obsessed with this place. But just taking a casual stroll to enjoy the scenery wouldn't do it justice, because there are plenty of outdoor activities to dive into: · Kayaking · Flat-bottom boat tours (fits around 8 people) · Cycling · Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) My personal favorite highlight has to be the endless fields of blooming lotuses, along with the massive floating grass mats right in the middle of the ancient paperbark forest. The whole vibe is breathtaking and uniquely exotic. Every photo you take will scream pure, untouched nature. For the shutterbugs or those who just want to chill, I highly recommend visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The golden hour lighting is stunning, and the weather is so much cooler. If you visit in the middle of the day, the sun can be pretty intense! The islands in Rayong have super clear water!🏝️ Let me start by saying I don't know how to swim, but I love seeing fish and going to the beach. So this time, I skipped swimming entirely and just went on a 1-day snorkeling trip. It totally opened up the underwater world for me! 📍 We joined a tour with Phupha Tour Ao Makham Pom. We boarded the boat at Ao Makham Pom Pier, which is a 50-minute drive from the city. 💰 Cost: 830 THB per person (all-inclusive) 🍲 Lunch: 1 box per person 🍉 Snacks: Thai desserts, fruits, and sodas 🤿 Snorkeling gear + attentive staff 📸 Free underwater photos The boat will take you to visit 3 islands as follows: 🏝️ Koh Talu The water is absolutely stunning and emerald green. You can snorkel here and see tons of fish, especially the black and white ones. Personally, this was my favorite island. Once you're back on the boat, you can see the crystal clear, greenish water. I loved it, and it's perfect for taking photos. 🏝️ Koh Man Klang You can't go ashore on this island; you have to jump right into the water from the boat. If you snorkel in this zone, you'll see coral reefs. When we went, the waves were getting a bit rough and the water was slightly cloudy, so visibility wasn't great and we really had to squint. 🏝️ Koh Man Nai We didn't snorkel here, but this island is home to a sea turtle conservation center. There's an educational building and plenty of turtle ponds to see. Overall, I absolutely loved the whole trip✨ The staff were incredibly kind. Since we went during a long weekend, they actually switched up the itinerary to visit the less crowded islands first. It was absolutely fantastic—10 out of 10!🫶🏻🐠

This 3-day, 2-night trip to Rayong was completely unplanned! Everything was just a rough idea, and we winged it when we got there. If you're short on time and looking for a quick getaway, Rayong is the perfect choice. I never expected the sea to be this stunning, and the island itself was absolutely breathtaking! Overall, I was super impressed by everything. 🫶🏻🤎🧡 🍵 Tons of cute cafes However, some of them are quite spread out. Make sure to allocate enough travel time and plan ahead. We only managed to visit 2 spots (ran out of time, lol). 🚗 Getting there: We rented a car from Bangkok. But if you don't drive, public transportation is also available.
