From the extensive lunch menu, I chose: ● Harima-nada Fried Oysters - ¥1,390 (excluding tax) For soup, you can choose between Kobe Rokko Miso Soup or Awaji Onion Soup. For rice, you can select either 15-grain rice or plain white rice. By the way, you can get one free refill of rice per person. On the tray, there was the main dish, a five-vegetable salad, three daily side dishes (dried daikon and spinach with sesame dressing, soft-cooked carrots, and potato salad), rice, pickles, soup, and a bite-sized cake. The salad greens were fresh and crisp. The fried oysters were large, crispy, and juicy. The side dishes were delicately seasoned and delicious. During my trip to Kobe, I visited a local restaurant recommended by the locals. This restaurant, which has been around for over 20 years, is known as a budget-friendly spot even among the locals, and I was thoroughly satisfied with my experience there. The beef tongue was affordable, and there were various types of offal dishes that are not commonly found in Korea. Enjoying Kobe beef and offal, along with a rare delicacy like oxtail and a glass of beer, completely washed away the fatigue of traveling. The staff were very friendly, and we arrived right at the opening time, being the first customers to enter. We had a hearty dinner and left feeling very content. The dignified dark brown interior is irresistible. 😍 The coffee is freshly ground and brewed using a siphon. ☕️ The friendly service from the older lady at the cafe made me feel so comfortable, even alone. ☺️ Next up, the place to visit in Shinkaichi: ⛩️ 📍BIGMAN A monument featuring Chaplin at the south entrance to the shopping street. I wondered why it was named after Chaplin. Apparently, this area was once known as a movie town. 😳 And it turns out Chaplin himself visited...isn't that amazing?! Get your sweet fix here! 🍓 📍Fukushindo @fukushindo_kobe This long-established Japanese confectionery shop is popular for its hand-baked kawara senbei (rice crackers) and kawara manju (rice cakes). And it was almost all strawberry. Luckily, we found great deals on flights from Trip.com for around 8,000 THB per person with Greater Bay Airline. I'll review the airline booking part first. I was impressed with everything, both before and during the flight. This airline offers a transfer in Hong Kong, but the wait wasn't long, about 3 hours, which we considered a good stopover. The outbound flight had a 20-minute weather delay, which was acceptable. The seats were comfortable and not cramped; I'm 168 cm tall and could stretch my legs comfortably. Onboard, they offered water and tea with two packets of cookies. I recommend having a light snack beforehand, but the airline also sells meals. The return flight had no delays at all; we landed exactly on time. Very impressed! Now, regarding our Japan itinerary, we planned to focus on nature. On the first day, we arrived around 3 PM, so we strolled around the Shinsaibashi area. On the second day, we planned to go play in the snow at Biwako and Otsu. We had to wake up early to get there before it got crowded, so I recommend allocating plenty of time. On the third day, we spent the whole day in Kyoto. It snowed all day, and we visited three places: the Golden Temple, the Fushimi Inari Shrine, and the Uji Bridge. It was very cold. In the evening, we went shopping in the city. On the fourth day, we went shopping and visited Kobe Tower to relax by the sea. On the fifth day, we returned from Japan. The last two photos show the results of this trip. Lastly, for two people, the total expenses including airfare, accommodation, mobile SIM cards, food, and shopping were approximately 43,000 baht.

Everything was delicious. The flavors aren't overly strong, more of a classic Japanese style. Highly recommended!!!! Just returned from Kobe, and the afterglow is strong. Listen to my genuine feelings. The area around Sannomiya Station here is basically a budget-friendly alternative to Shinsaibashi; the brands you find in Osaka are also here. Below is our two-day itinerary. Day 1: Ikuta Shrine - Kitano Ijinkan - Nankinmachi - Meriken Park Day 2: Maiko Beach - Venus Bridge for night view Ikuta Shrine: Located near Sannomiya Station, this shrine is popular for prayers related to love, health, and safe childbirth. Behind the shrine is a small park with towering trees and a small pond where the ducks are very cute. Kitano Ijinkan: You can walk from Ikuta Shrine or take a sightseeing bus directly there. Kitano Ijinkan is on a hillside, so you need to climb uphill. After the opening of Kobe Port, many foreigners settled here, and Western-style buildings were constructed. The Weathercock House (home of a German merchant) and the Moegi House (home of an American merchant) are iconic buildings located at the top of the cluster, offering a city view. Many buildings have been converted into interesting museums, such as the former British Consulate turned Sherlock Holmes Museum, and the 3D Wonder Museum. Next to the Wonder Museum is a Rokko Farm ice cream shop. The ice cream is very delicious, rich in creamy milk flavor but not sweet, dense and smooth. Highly recommended to try. You can buy a combined ticket to visit many of the houses, but some are not included in the combined ticket, so be sure to check carefully. Nankinmachi: We took the subway from Sannomiya to Meriken Park and stopped by Nankinmachi, which is near Motomachi Street. The Xi’an Gate here has a Ming Dynasty architectural style. Meriken Park: It’s recommended to visit in the evening during summer because the park has little shade and daytime heat can be intense. Here you’ll find Kobe Tower and a Ferris wheel. Sitting by the sea and enjoying the breeze is very pleasant. Maiko + Akashi Kaikyō Bridge: Maiko has both a beach and a seaside promenade. If you don’t want sand in your shoes, you can walk near the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge. Maiko also has more cultural sites, such as the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The Akashi Kaikyō Bridge was once the longest suspension bridge in the world; now the longest is China’s Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge 😁. The former residence of Sanji Muto has a seaside café. If you get tired, you can spend 600 yen on a drink, sit facing the sea, enjoy the air conditioning, and avoid getting sunstroke... Venus Bridge Night View: We took bus number 7 from Sannomiya Station to the foot of the mountain, then climbed for about 10 minutes to reach Venus Bridge. Although the 10-minute walk is short, it can be a bit scary because it’s very dark and many parts are dirt paths. Be sure to go with companions and bring a flashlight. But the climb is worth it; it feels like a budget alternative to the Rokko Mountain night view.
