⛩️ I'm back with another Japan trip! This time, I headed to Tokyo. This is my second time visiting Japan—my first trip was to Osaka. If you're planning a trip to Osaka, feel free to check out my itinerary; I've got it all prepared. But for this trip, we're doing Tokyo for 7 days and 6 nights, absolutely packed! Day 0 🛫 Let's start at the airport, flying with Thai Airways as usual. Flight 23:55 arriving at NRT at 07:20. Day 1 🐼 Once we landed, we picked up our various train passes and took the Keisei Skyliner into the city, getting off at Ueno Station to drop off our luggage at the hotel first. After that, we grabbed a quick bite for lunch at Unatoto, an unagi (eel) rice bowl restaurant. 🐟 🐼 After lunch, we headed to Ueno Zoo. You definitely can't miss visiting the red pandas and giant pandas—they're so adorable! 🥺 The vibe inside was great, and strolling around looking at the animals was super relaxing because the weather was nice and chilly. 🥹 🐼 After seeing the animals, we went to pray at Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. I definitely spent a small fortune here because there are just so many things to buy! I highly recommend Yoroshi Cosmetics, which sells hand creams and lip balms customized to your birth date—super cute and they smell amazing. Another must-visit is the Sanrio Shop Asakusa‼️ Say goodbye to your money for sure. 😂 Day 2 ⛄️ The day we've been waiting for~~~ Tokyo DisneySea‼️ My dream of being Elsa finally came true, haha. And my friend got to live out her Ariel dreams. Cue the happy tears! 🥺🫶🏻 Let me tell you, it was absolutely incredible. Just the best! You have to come. I managed to get on 4 rides: Toy Story, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Rapunzel's Lantern Festival, and Nemo & Friends SeaRider. It’s a bummer I didn't get to ride the Elsa one, but that's okay—at least I got to see the castle, and it was gorgeous. I went during the Christmas season, 🎄 so all the decorations were stunning. Don't even ask how much I spent, haha. 🥲 Day 3 🗻 Woke up with sore feet! Today, we're heading to see Fujisan at Fujikawaguchiko. I was so surprised today❗️ We got our first snow of the year! 🌨️❄️ An actual first snow! I was absolutely thrilled. Getting to see both the snow and Mount Fuji was totally worth it. 🗻 If you're visiting Fuji, don't forget to stop by Station 9. There's a souvenir shop selling Fuji-shaped cookies called Fujiyama Cookie 🍪, and a famous dessert spot called Cheesecake Garden 🍰. It’s insanely delicious, a definite must-try. At 5:45 AM, you get to experience a completely different side of Senso-ji Temple, one that starkly contrasts with the bustling daytime. Although the shops along Nakamise Street have yet to open, the temple grounds are fully accessible. The atmosphere is serene, with only a handful of tourists and locals taking peaceful strolls, snapping photos, and quietly paying their respects. The striking red glow from the temple's gates and buildings stands out beautifully against the gradually brightening morning sky. After exploring the temple, take a walk toward Asakusa Station to experience the city as it slowly comes to life. Along the way, you'll come across stunning photo spots where the Tokyo Skytree stands out in the distance, beautifully contrasting with the surrounding architecture. It's a remarkably peaceful time with crisp, pleasant weather, making it ideal for capturing unique perspectives of Asakusa that many people never get to see. During my trip to Tokyo, the most surprising shrine I visited was Meiji Shrine. Despite being right next to the bustling Harajuku, stepping inside feels like hitting the mute button, with all the noise left outside. Spanning over 70 hectares, walking along the South Approach towards the main hall is a serene experience. The path is shaded by lush greenery and the air is fresh, making the 20-minute walk a calming journey. Along the way, you'll pass by massive wooden torii gates, impressive sake and wine walls, showcasing a unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures that reflect the historical background of the Meiji era. Before praying, remember to cleanse yourself at the water pavilion—a simple process. I was lucky enough to witness a Shinto wedding ceremony that day, which was solemn and beautiful, captivating my attention. After praying, you can explore the area selling omamori (charms) and ema (wooden prayer plaques). They're reasonably priced and make great souvenirs to bring blessings home. Meiji Shrine has free admission, and it's recommended to set aside 1–1.5 hours to stroll leisurely. Sensoji Temple is a famous temple that everyone visiting Tokyo must check out. It's located in the Asakusa area, near the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree. The temple's highlights are its distinctive gate and giant lanterns, so much so that some people affectionately call it the "Red Lantern Temple." There's also the Nakamise pedestrian street, filled with various goods and delicious food to sample and shop for. Within the temple grounds, there's an osuisha (a place for purification before entering to worship) and a jokoro (a large incense burner), believed to have incense smoke that helps cleanse the body of negativity. At the main prayer hall (hondo), you can make donations and then worship the Kannon-like Buddha statue. There are also many other places to worship around the temple, and amulets are sold here as well. It's a place where you can gain spiritual fulfillment all in one visit. I was excited to visit after hearing that it was a regular on Tabelog's Top 100 Bakeries. Even though I arrived in the evening, there were a lot of people in the store and I couldn't get in right away. Apparently there's a line in the morning. There were many prepared and side-dish breads in the store, including many rare items that you won't see at other bakeries. I liked the burdock bread. Burdock and tuna were inside the hard bread, which was chewy and delicious. They sell 820 loaves of bread, 340 baguettes, 288 croissants, and 240 curry buns per day, so I'd like to try buying some bread next time.

It is made by the owner who trained for 6 years in France, the home of bread. The interior of the store is a replica of a French bakery, and you tell the staff what bread you want to buy and they will bring it for you. I bought a few this time, and all of them were breads that made the most of the taste and flavor of the ingredients. The Danish bread was crispy and delicious. The store is near Kusatsu River Atochi Park, so it would be nice to take some bread out and eat it in the park.

#tokyo Sensoji Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple located in the Asakusa district of Tokyo and is Tokyo's oldest temple. It has been a cultural landmark in Tokyo where most people will visit and a mandatory shot of the giant red lantern in front of the main gate of the temple. As much as we enjoyed touring the temple, we also enjoyed the lively street of food and souvenir shops in front of the temple. A nice and lively temple that is well kept.
