Oasis Sea World: Dolphin Shows and Tons of Activities!
If you're planning a trip to Chanthaburi, we highly recommend checking out Oasis Sea World. It's an awesome spot featuring dolphin shows and a whole bunch of other fun activities. It's perfectly suited for a family outing or bringing the kids along for some new experiences.
We've known about this place for ages but only just visited. The vibe inside isn't ultra-modern; it has a bit of an older, vintage feel, but it's still really well-maintained. The admission fee is also very reasonable. When we visited, we grabbed a family package for 3 people, which included the dolphin show, ziplining, fishing, pedal boats, feeding the deer, and feeding the fish—all for just 9xx THB!
The dolphin show is super entertaining, and they even feature native Thai dolphin species. I highly recommend catching the earliest show at 9:00 AM since it's less crowded and the weather isn't too hot yet.

Laem Sing Seaside Restaurant: Fresh, Delicious, and Excellent.
We took a trip to Chanthaburi province and dined at a place called Laem Sing Jongcharoen Seafood. The restaurant is located right next to Laem Sing Beach, with tables set up directly on the sand. The atmosphere is great—if you bring kids along, they can play in the sand and water while the adults sit and enjoy their meal.
We chose this restaurant because it was close to where we were staying, so we could just walk right over. We ordered simple dishes like Crab Fried Rice and Seafood Holy Basil Stir-fry. The ingredients were quite fresh, packed with shrimp, clams, and squid. We'd give the taste an 8/10. The prices are mid-range, neither too expensive nor too cheap. The restaurant is open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
It closes at 8:00 PM because the area is quite peaceful. After 8:00 PM, it gets pretty quiet since everyone heads back to their accommodations to rest. As for parking, there's a fair amount of parking space right in front of the restaurant.

Beachfront Accommodation in Chanthaburi for Under 1,000 Baht!
Who would believe that you can still find beachfront accommodation for just hundreds of baht these days? This place is called The Retreat Beach at Laem Sing. It's located right on Laem Sing Beach, and the vibe is absolutely amazing. Since this beach is quiet and not crowded, it's perfect for those who love privacy.
Rooms are 890 baht per night. The room size isn't huge, making it ideal for 2 adults, or you can even bring along a small child without any extra charge. The rooms are clean and come equipped with a water heater, air conditioning, a TV, and a refrigerator. The layout is similar to a row house with connected rooms. There's parking available, though it might be a bit tight. On holidays, the place is fully booked.
The front area features a small grassy lawn where you can sit and have a picnic in the evenings—you can even enjoy some BBQ! If you're looking for a beachfront stay that costs only hundreds of baht, this is the place to be. It's incredibly worth it, and the owner is super kind!

Saturn Sea Seaside Restaurant in Chanthaburi.
Saturn Sea is located right on Laem Sing Beach, and the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. If you arrive just before dusk, you'll get some stunning photos. The tall coconut trees, white domes, and white buildings blend perfectly with the sandy beach and the sea. At night, the LED lights on the tables and trees create a really cool, space-like vibe.
The restaurant looks fantastic—we actually think it's the most beautiful one in the area. However, the food prices are quite standard and not any more expensive than other nearby spots. The food here is extremely fresh. As for the taste, we'd give it an 8/10; it's good and meets the standard of general restaurants, but it's not mind-blowing.
🔥 The highlight of this place is the fire spinning show at around 7:00 PM. If you want a beachfront table close to the performance, we highly recommend calling ahead to make a reservation. The fire show is quite long and incredibly well done—you definitely won't be disappointed.
Opening hours: 3:00 PM - Midnight

A Beautiful Temple in Laem Sing, Chanthaburi.
Let me recommend a stunning temple in Laem Sing District, Chanthaburi Province. It's called Wat Pak Nam Laem Sing, nestled right in the Laem Sing community by the river mouth—just as its name suggests. What makes this temple truly stand out is its gorgeous golden-yellow ordination hall, vihara, pavilions, and other structures.
We visited the temple in the morning when the lighting was perfect and the weather wasn't too hot. Right in front of the temple, locals set up stalls selling soy milk, grilled pork skewers, and congee. Coming here early gives off such a great vibe and offers a wonderful glimpse into the local way of life.
Just nearby, there's also a beautiful white temple named Wat Khao Laem Sing. Make a dual trip out of it, and you'll get to experience both the magnificent golden and white temples!

Khuk Khi Kai: The Historic Prison Built by the French.
Khuk Khi Kai (Chicken Poop Prison) is a remarkably small historic prison, measuring just 4 meters wide and 10 meters high, with tiny windows for ventilation. The French built this prison during their occupation of Chanthaburi in 1893 (B.E. 2436) to hold Thai locals who rebelled against their rule.
It earned the name "Khuk Khi Kai" because the top of the prison was used as a chicken coop, allowing chicken droppings to fall directly onto the prisoners below. The prison was constructed alongside Tuek Daeng (The Red Building), which served as the French military headquarters at the time. Today, both Khuk Khi Kai and Tuek Daeng stand as significant historical landmarks in Chanthaburi, preserving the stories of the past for future generations to learn from.

The Red Building: An Important Historical Site in Chanthaburi.
While driving around Laem Sing District in Chanthaburi Province, we noticed a tourist sign pointing to the "Red Building." We followed the signs until we came across this beautiful, old, brick-red building.
Known as the "Red Building," it formerly served as the French military headquarters when France occupied Chanthaburi. The building is situated right at the river mouth, right next to the sea at Laem Sing.
After the French departed, the building served various purposes, including a reception hall, a vacation home, a public library, and a museum. Today, it stands as an important historical site that tells the story of Chanthaburi Province.

Lan Sai Cafe: A Great Vibe Cafe in Chanthaburi.
Lan Sai Cafe is located in Chanthaburi Province, right inside Oasis Sea World, the province's famous dolphin sanctuary. If you purchase an entrance package, you can even use it for a discount at the cafe.
The cafe sits right next to a large pond on the premises, offering beautiful views where you can watch people feed the fish or paddle duck boats. If you're visiting during the heat of the day, the cafe is the perfect spot to cool down. It's a great place to sit back, relax in the AC, and recharge before heading back out for more activities inside Oasis Sea World.
The drinks are pretty average and nothing too extraordinary, but after a tiring day of exploring, grabbing a cold drink here is definitely refreshing.

Itsaraphap Pagoda at Khao Laem Sing, Chanthaburi.
Phairi Phinat Fort and Itsaraphap Pagoda are situated together atop Khao Laem Sing in Laem Sing District, Chanthaburi. The viewpoint up here is absolutely stunning, offering panoramic views of both the ocean and the river mouth.
The Itsaraphap Pagoda was erected as a memorial to mark the withdrawal of French troops from Chanthaburi. The Phairi Phinat Fort, however, was built much earlier. It served as an artillery battery to defend against Vietnamese forces during historical regional conflicts.
These days, it's a bit of a hidden gem with fewer tourist crowds, yet the site remains incredibly well-maintained and far from abandoned. It's definitely a fascinating check-in spot worth adding to your itinerary!

A Cliffside Ocean View Cafe at Ao Krating.
I'd like to recommend a cafe nestled in the Khao Laem Sing Forest Park called Welcome Drink Cafe. The cafe boasts a prime location perched atop the park's cliff edge, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of Chanthaburi's beautiful ocean as far as the eye can see.
It's the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and cool off after a hike up from Krating Beach. The ocean breeze is incredibly refreshing, and there's plenty of seating available. It's even better when you grab an ice-cold beverage to beat the heat! The drinks are super affordable—only about 40 to 50 THB a cup—and they taste pretty good, too.
There is a small entrance fee to get into the park, but it is totally worth it. You get to enjoy this gorgeous cafe with a view, the stunning Krating Beach, and even explore the nature trails.

Wat Khao Laem Sing, a beautiful temple by the sea in Chanthaburi.
Wat Khao Laem Sing is beautifully situated at the river mouth, right by the sea in Laem Sing, Chanthaburi. If you're visiting Laem Sing and driving over the Taksin Bridge along the Chalerm Burapha Chonlathit Road, you'll spot this temple nestled against the mountain near the bridge's descent, right along the coastline.
The temple grounds are incredibly spacious with plenty of convenient parking. Tourists constantly drop by to pay their respects to the Buddha. The temple's ordination hall stands out in a stunning pristine white. Snapping photos here on a clear day, especially looking out toward the sea, is absolutely breathtaking.
There's no admission fee to visit the temple. You can simply come to pray and pay your respects, or you can drop some money in the donation boxes to support the temple, entirely up to your own faith and generosity.

Beautiful Cafe by Laem Sing Beach, Chanthaburi.
The Beach Cafe is nestled right along Laem Sing Beach. It's conveniently located by the road, just in front of The Beach Pool Villa. We were staying nearby, so we took a morning stroll along the beach to get there.
The cafe boasts a gorgeous beachfront area perfect for lounging and snapping pictures. Just a heads-up, this space is exclusively reserved for villa guests and cafe customers.
Inside, the cafe has a cute and aesthetic decor, with wraparound glass windows that give it a bright, airy vibe. They've got a full drink menu covering coffee, tea, matcha, and cocoa. We went for the matcha latte—it was smooth, delightful, and super tasty. The prices are totally standard and very reasonable, too!

Wat Bang Sra Kao, Laem Sing District, Chanthaburi.
We visited Chanthaburi province, and while driving from the city center to Laem Sing Beach, we passed a market right next to a crematorium at a temple. It was very eye-catching, so we stopped to take pictures and explore the temple as well. The temple is called Wat Bang Sra Kao.
Bang Sra Kao is the name of the temple, the community, and the subdistrict. This is because in the past, there were many wild elephants in the area, and there were nine ponds where they used to bathe.
The temple itself is beautiful and peaceful, in the style of a Buddhist temple, and serves as a gathering place for the local community. When we visited, the main chapel wasn't open to the public; it seems it's only open during important festivals. #BeautifulTemplesChanthaburi #TempleVisitChanthaburi #WatBangSraKao
