Before my flight to Athens, I visited the recently renovated #aegeanairlines Business Lounge at Larnaca Airport (LCA). Its location is next to Gate 48 (at the end of the main aisle) and it can be used by First or Business class passengers in #staralliance as well as #staralliance gold passengers. The lounge is luxurious with modern internal decoration but its size is relatively small. There are dining tables at the area next to the foods and drinks and also very comfortable arm chairs were you can chill out. There were two different choices for hot food: chicken souvlaki and seftalia (i.e., traditional Cypriot meatball) along with a selection of cold sandwiches, and salads, all influenced by the Greek – Cypriot traditional cuisine. On the top of that, the lounge offers complementary refreshments, an updated self service bar, a few choices of desserts and a self service espresso machine. When I entered the lounge was quiet enough with 2-3 other people, but as the time of my Aegean Airlines flight was approaching, the place became crowded enough. 📍Location: Next to Gate 48 🗓️ Tip 1: For some reason, Aegean Airlines starts check in, two hours before the flight instead of three or even four hours that other air companies do, and as a result if you have baggage for drop off, the time you can spend in lounge is not too much. 🗓️ Tip 2: Because Aegean Airlines Lounge at Larnaca Airport serves all the Star Alliance passengers who have the right to make use of it, the lounge can be crowded some times during the day (if there are two or more Star Alliance flights closely one to each other), due to its small size. #aegeanairlines #staralliance

Beautiful beaches, colourful skies, good food, not crowded and most importantly the locals here is friendly. I have travelled to few other places and I personally rated Larnaca as my top 5 place I would revisit. I only got to spend one night there and I regretted cause I should’ve stayed for at least 3-4 night there. I reached there in the afternoon, and it’s bit warm even in December but its bit chilly after 7pm. I walked around the neighbourhood area and yes its safe for solo female travellers. Sunset view in Larnaca is majestic and you can see plane landing from Mackenzie or Finikoudes beach- almost beat Oia, Santorini sunset in my opinion. For cat lover, Larnaca is a cat haven. You can see cats roaming around the island and it’s cute. You may bring some treats with you cause some of the cats is quite approachable and friendly. #hiddengem #larnaca #cyprus

Three places you shoud visit at the time you spend in the city. First, Kition .This underground temple complex is the remains of the biblical city of Kition, which was settled in 1300BC. Part of the ancient Cyclopean wall and the temple of Astarte still exist. The second place is the Church of Agios Lazarus, In this beautiful little 9th century church lies the tomb of St Lazarus. This is one of the most important Orthodox pilgrimage sites. Under the landing path of Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus lies a magical body of water—Larnaca Salt Lake. Just 4 miles from the city center, when viewed from the air, you’ll see planes flying over the pink lake surface as they land. This is the first natural wonder visitors encounter upon arriving in Cyprus. This wetland system, made up of four interconnected salt lakes, is nature’s outstanding dual masterpiece. In winter, rain fills the lake basins, and the shimmering water reflects the sky and green hills. Flocks of flamingos fly in from Eastern Europe and Africa, dyeing the lake water a flowing pink. They cuddle in pairs or gather in small groups, as if discussing Cyprus’s “warm” winter—even when cold fronts arrive, they refuse to cancel this annual meeting. On the west shore of the lake stands the 18th-century Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque, its white walls contrasting beautifully with the pink lake surface. It is the third most important pilgrimage site in the Islamic world. In summer, the water evaporates completely, leaving an endless white salt crust that shines like snow under the scorching sun. You can walk barefoot on this seemingly alien surface and feel the crunch of salt grains beneath your feet—but be careful, as mud may lie hidden under the salt crust. A legend is told here: Saint Lazarus once asked an old woman for water but was refused, so he cursed the land to be salty forever. In the Middle Ages, salt from here was Cyprus’s main export product. Today, it is an internationally important wetland (a RAMSAR site), a paradise for photographers, and a natural classroom no visitor to Cyprus should miss. Open free all year round, 24/7. Take bus 425 to Touzchane station, and you can witness firsthand how this seasonal magic mirror reflects two completely different worlds.

If you’re visiting Larnaca, here are a few things I truly enjoyed and would recommend. Start with a walk along Finikoudes Promenade for coffee and sea views, then visit the Church of Saint Lazarus for a bit of history. One of my favorite surprises was flamingo watching at Larnaca Salt Lake — seeing them standing quietly in the water felt unreal and so peaceful. Mackenzie Beach is perfect for relaxing, and watching planes land nearby is oddly fun. Larnaca is also a great base for day trips. You can head to Ayia Napa for crystal-clear beaches, visit Paphos for ancient ruins and coastal views, or explore the capital, Nicosia, for culture and local life. You can use local buses for €2.4 or the intercity bus for €5 , or rent a car for more freedom. For Taxi use Bolt or CabCy ( Cheaper ). Food is a big highlight — try fresh fish, gyros, meze, and grilled halloumi at local tavernas. Larnaca is relaxed, sunny, and full of small moments that make it special

Sunny Larnaca welcomed us with love and warmth. The weather is perfect for traveling. Hotels are inexpensive because it's off-season. But swimming in the sea is already perfectly possible. You can also sit in a tavern, enjoy the sunset, or simply stroll along the promenade. You can add a trip to the Troodos Mountains or a trip to Ayia Napa, where the nightlife is vibrant. In short, Cyprus is a wonderful choice for a trip.
