A wonderful week-long trip to Peru during spring break in March. On March 9th, I flew from Hartford to Atlanta and transferred to Quito, the capital of Ecuador, where I stayed overnight. On March 10th, I flew to Lima, the capital of Peru, and then to Cusco in the evening. I checked into the Wyndham Hotel and met with the owner of the travel agency. I paid $500 for two people and learned about the general itinerary. On March 11th, at around 6:40 am, a car picked us up from the hotel lobby to start the Sacred Valley day tour. We visited the Chinchero traditional textile market, Moray archaeological terraces, Maras salt mines, and Ollantaytambo Sanctuary. After lunch, we skipped the Pisac Sanctuary and took a train directly to the foot of Machu Picchu Mountain. In the evening, the Machu Picchu day tour group contacted us at the hotel and explained the itinerary for the next day. On March 12th, at 7:00 am, we gathered in the plaza and queued for the 8:00 am bus that took us to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. We spent about half a day exploring the entire Machu Picchu city. At noon, we took the bus back down the mountain and had lunch. After lunch, we took the train back to Ollantaytambo and then a car back to Cusco. By the time we checked into the hotel, it was already dusk. On March 13th, I visited the Twelve-Angled Stone, the Temple of the Sun, and the Plaza de Armas in the morning. All of these sites are located near the Wyndham Hotel, making them easy to visit. At noon, I took a plane to Lima. After taking the airport bus to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, I visited the Plaza del Amor, the Bridge of Sighs in Barranco, and the Graffiti Wall. On March 14th, I took a DiDi to Plaza San Martín, which is very close to the Plaza de Armas. On the way to the Plaza de Armas, there were many people in yellow vests offering currency exchange. Their exchange rates were much higher than the bank's, so I exchanged a small amount. I felt like I had lost a lot of money because I had exchanged currency at the bank beforehand. After retrieving our luggage from the hotel, we took a DiDi to the airport. DiDi International is very convenient and affordable, but you need to pay in cash, so be sure to have soles on hand. 2024.08.31 Today I walked around downtown Lima and recorded my itinerary and experience for the whole day. After a hearty breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we started our exploration of Lima’s old town. The first stop is the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, a 16th-century church known for its Baroque architecture and catacombs. It is one of Lima’s most historic religious sites. However, we only went into the church next door, and did not go into the museum part which required payment. Next, we strolled around the Plaza Mayor de Lima, which is the historical center of Lima and is surrounded by important buildings such as the Presidential Palace, City Hall, and the Cathedral. We accidentally discovered a free museum, Museo Central - MUCEN. The exhibitions inside exceeded our expectations. Many precious collections about Peruvian history and culture were displayed. For free travelers who want to learn about local culture, this is a place not to be missed. Next, we walked over to eat Churros, Churros Virgen del Carmen S.A.C! When you go there, you will see two queues. You have to queue up to buy tickets first, and then queue up on the other side after buying the tickets. Fortunately, I don’t have two people, so one person goes to pay and the other one queues to get Churros. We ordered the caramel-flavored Manjar Blanco, which is delicious! One ticket costs 3.5sol (about NT$30). In fact, if we had known this earlier, we should have lined up early in the morning near the Basilica of St. Francis and the Convento de San Francisco, because there were not many people at that time! Because when I was queuing I realized that was where we were going to get off the taxi! Afterwards, we went to the Inka Market which was recommended by many people. We thought there would be many unique handicrafts, but in fact the types of goods there were very uniform, which made it a bit boring to visit. In the end, we left without buying anything. In comparison, I prefer the things I saw in Cusco or Pisac before, which had richer texture and choices. Next, we went to Al Toke Pez for lunch and ordered a takeout combo, which included a small portion of seafood fried rice, ceviche and fried squid for only 30 sol (about NT$250). My friend and I both agreed that the fried rice was delicious, but the ceviche was a bit sour. However, the price and portion are very reasonable, I really recommend it! Miraflores is very lively and Happening area of Lima. You can find various snacks shops, Beautiful Park, sea side and people enjoying. There are Bars, Restuarants just walk away from Broadwalk. There are many hotels and Hostels where most of the tourists stay. from Miraflores you can reach to park where there is walkway and Statue of Love. From park area you can walk down and enjoy Sea Side. There are also restaurants which sell sea food. In night with lights it looks more beautiful. Ine can easily soenf 3-4 hours.

Eat, pray, love! Eating Nutella-covered crepes on the cool coastal cliffs of Lima, Peru is fantastic! The weather in Lima, where I stayed for a few days, was disappointing because it was gloomy, but despite that, the night, a very romantic sunset is drawn. We sat down next to the statue of the Love Park, and shared a crepe, and we didn't even realize how much time had passed! There were also many couples around the statue.
