Linfen may be known for its past air pollution, but many people may not know about it... It is a tourist base town for the Yellow River Pingkou Waterfall. Yao Temple in Qingxu is located in Yaocheng Village, Mengfeng Town, Qingxu County. It was built by later generations to commemorate Emperor Yao. Yao's surname was Yiqi, and his given name was Fangxun. According to legend, Yaocheng was Yao's castle 4,000 years ago. Later generations built the Yao Temple on the site of Yao's thatched cottage to honor his merits. The temple faces south, measuring about 58 meters from north to south and about 70 meters from east to west, covering an area of approximately 4,200 square meters, with a building area of about 748.66 square meters. There are currently nine preserved cultural relic buildings. The overall courtyard layout is divided into two axes: east and west. The east axis only retains the Emperor Yao Hall, while the west axis, from south to north, includes the Inverted Opera Stage and the Holy Mother Hall.
