Explora Journeys' Explora luxury cruise 2028 summer itinerary series is now open for booking, marking a significant milestone in the brand's development with the addition of Explora VI.
The new itinerary series showcases the timeless charm of the Mediterranean as well as the pristine landscapes of Scandinavia, Iceland, and Greenland. From the pure wilderness of Alaska to the historic waterways of the U.S. East Coast in autumn, each journey follows the philosophy of "explore at your own pace."
The routes include iconic overnight stops in cities like New York, Reykjavik, and Istanbul, and for the first time, call at lesser-known island resorts such as Korčula and the Faroe Islands. Many ports offer late-night departures, allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of each destination as it transitions from day to night, fostering a deeper emotional connection with every place visited.
2028 Summer Itinerary Overview
· Explora I: From April to October, Explora I will sail the Mediterranean, visiting 25 destinations across 6 countries, navigating between the Cyclades and the scenic Adriatic coast. Guests can explore the Cyclades, Dodecanese, and the Turkish coast, with extended port stays to enjoy Mykonos nightlife and overnight stops in Istanbul to experience its vibrant cultural scene.
· Explora II: From April to October, Explora II will explore the sunny western Mediterranean, North Africa, and the French and Italian Rivieras, visiting 36 destinations along the Iberian Peninsula and Atlantic coast. The route stretches from the lively Balearic Islands to the lush Madeira Islands, with overnight stays in Lisbon and late departures from eight ports including Ibiza, Capri, and Casablanca.
· Explora III: From May to September, Explora III returns to Alaska’s pristine wilderness, sailing between 20 destinations in the U.S. and Canada. The itinerary passes through the Inside Passage and Gulf of Alaska, offering guests spectacular views of Hubbard Glacier, with stops in Juneau, Skagway, and tranquil towns like Wrangell and Klawock.
· Explora IV: From May to October, Explora IV will traverse Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea, exploring 51 destinations across 15 countries. Guests can cycle along Amsterdam’s historic canals or stroll through Stockholm’s Royal Park during overnight stays. Additionally, 11 first-time ports of call, including Runavík in the Faroe Islands and Djúpivogur in Iceland, will reveal the region’s more hidden coastal beauty.
· Explora V: From May to September, Explora V will explore the Baltic Sea, Norwegian fjords, and the North Atlantic, then head to the volcanic coastlines of Iceland and Greenland. The season then shifts to the U.S. East Coast to witness autumn foliage, with overnight stops in New York City and Quebec City, and late departures from Halifax and Boston.
· Explora VI: From August to November 2028, the newest fleet member, Explora VI, will offer 13 journeys showcasing a softer, more refined Mediterranean experience. The inaugural voyage will sail from Rome to Barcelona, passing Sicily, Sardinia, and the French Riviera. As the season progresses into October and November, the cruise will explore the Adriatic Sea, visiting historic ports like Trogir and Dubrovnik, as well as the UNESCO World Heritage Bay of Kotor.
