I spent one full day exploring central London, focusing on some of its most iconic places. I started early at Westminster Abbey, arriving before the crowds which made a huge difference. From there, I walked past Big Ben and along the Thames, enjoying the views and the street atmosphere. Next was Leadenhall Market, one of London’s most beautiful covered markets. It feels historic but lively and it is perfect for photos and a quick coffee break. In the afternoon, I headed to Chinatown for lunch, where the food is affordable and full of flavour. I tried roast duck and fresh dumplings which were excellent. Later, I went up The Shard for sunset views across the city. Seeing London from above really puts the day into perspective. Book The Shard tickets for late afternoon on weekdays. It is quieter and the light is much better for photos.

This is not a place for a quick five-minute glance, but a space that naturally makes you slow down your pace. But what truly moves Chinese visitors is beyond the chapel. After leaving the building, walk deeper into the garden inside the college, and you will find a very quiet stone. I love Covent Garden. It is such a vibrant place to visit. No matter what time of year there is always something interesting to see. Lots of cool street artists performing. Market stalls, restaurants and fab shops. It’s a gorgeous place to walk around day or night. It is especially beautiful at Christmas time with a huge tree and pretty indoor decorations. Has a festive atmosphere. Cobbled area at first leading into a proper under cover shop area with quality shops. Lots of areas to stop and grab something to eat or a drink.
