Shuikeng is a must-visit attraction in Longchuan County.
In the evening, I stayed at Longchuan 138 Boutique Hotel and had a good night's sleep. The next morning, I opened my eyes and drew the curtains. The warm sunlight shone into the room, and the fresh air filled my nose. I instantly felt that life was so beautiful! A beautiful day had begun again... After getting up and washing up, I set off for the beautiful local scenery of Longchuan—Shuikeng.
The front desk of 138 Hotel told me that the Shuikeng Scenic Area is full of strange rocks and cliff carvings, each with a beautiful legend.
The scenic area mainly includes eight attractions: "Zhan Yun Guan Lang," "Zhuo Feng Legend," "Wan Lu Qi Lin," "Qing Xi Lie Qi," "Deng Gao Fang Gu," "Jing Yang Lan Sheng," and "Guanyin Temple." There are also participatory amusement places such as "San Tan Yin Yue Swimming Pool," making it a great place for people to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, go sightseeing, relax, and return to nature.
Longchuan Wels Hotel.
Wels Hotel is located on Dongfeng West Road, Longnan Village, Laolong Town, Longchuan, Heyuan. The hotel lobby is spacious and bright, and the decoration is elegant and atmospheric. The front desk service is warm and thoughtful, and the check-in efficiency is high. The hotel offers free luggage storage, wake-up calls, and self-service washing and drying services, which is very considerate.
The room is clean and tidy, with complete equipment, smart toilets, comfortable beds, and comfortable pillows. It is a good place to rest.
The restaurant is very hygienic, the disinfection cabinet is hot, the breakfast is simple, but it can satisfy your stomach, especially the Hakka pork soup is quite good, and it is comfortable to eat.
Wels Hotel is a satisfactory hotel worth staying in. Wels Hotel (Heyuan Longchuan Store)
Huoshan Scenic Area.
Huoshan Scenic Area is located in Tianxin Town, Longchuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. It covers an area of 10.5 square kilometers and is 557 meters above sea level. It is one of the seven famous mountains in Guangdong, a provincial forest park, the most beautiful scenic spot in Heyuan City, one of the "New Eight Scenic Spots" in Longchuan, and a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
We checked in at Huoshan, climbed the ladder, climbed the mountain, sat on the magic carpet, and walked slowly on the glass plank road from 10 am to 4 pm for a full six hours, but we didn't feel too tired, but we were deeply attracted by the beauty of nature. Huoshan Scenic Area
Guest Full Sky · Food First.
First time visiting Longchuan, Heyuan, Guangdong, I came across this restaurant called Guest Full Sky. It was better than I expected. The lobby has a retro and elegant decoration style, and the private rooms on the second floor are spacious and bright. The service is good and the atmosphere is comfortable.
Most importantly, the ingredients are fresh. The steamed fish and Hakka chicken are both delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered 10 dishes for 8 people at a total of 630 yuan, which is less than 80 yuan per person. A satisfying dining experience. Guest Full Sky Hakka Restaurant
Easily conquered Qifeng Mountain!
Sharing the night climb Qifeng Mountain sunrise guide~ First, the result: the experience was wonderful!
I departed from Nanyang city to Fangcheng Qifeng Mountain, a journey of 1.5 hours.
Two options: 1. Arrive at Fangcheng Qifeng Mountain the night before and stay nearby, then start at 4:30 AM the next day.
2. Depart from Nanyang at 2 AM and reach Fangcheng around 4 AM. The sunrise is around 5:30~6:00 AM. The process is quick, but it's beautiful before sunrise with a sea of clouds and a wide view.
Arriving at the foot of Qifeng Mountain at 4:30 AM,
we took a bus directly to the top of the mountain (about 20 minutes). I personally recommend taking the bus up and walking down (about 3 hours), leisurely taking photos, very pleasant.
There are also options to climb directly to the top of the mountain at dawn, which requires an additional 2 hours. Actually, you can't see much in the dark, so I recommend taking the bus up.
The cost is free at night but requires a 10 yuan insurance. The daytime ticket is 65 yuan. The mountain during the day is ordinary, nothing special, so it's better at night, saving money and having a great experience.
Each person only needs 30 yuan for a wonderful experience! Super cost-effective!!
The best feeling is the time waiting for the sunrise after reaching the top of the mountain,
with the sea of clouds rolling, layer upon layer! It feels like an ink painting, very wonderful! You don't want to talk, just want to sit quietly. Away from the hustle and bustle~ There are not many people at night, with excellent viewing points! If you have time, you can go and see~

Guangdong hides an ancient town that was established as a county during the Qin Dynasty over a thousand years ago
Tuocheng was the earliest established ancient county in Lingnan, with the Qin Dynasty setting up the county government in Longchuan County here. It was later renamed Tuocheng in honor of Zhao Tuo, the first county magistrate of Longchuan, who later became the 'King of Nanyue'. After Emperor Qin Shi Huang unified the Central Plains, he sent an army of 500,000 to pacify Lingnan, and Zhao Tuo accompanied the army southward, with Longchuan being his first stop and where he stayed on as the first county magistrate. At the end of the Qin Dynasty, he carved out a territory in Lingnan and later established the Nanyue Kingdom, becoming King Wuling of Nanyue.
Zhao Tuo had a significant impact on the culture of Lingnan and the origins of Hakka culture. During his tenure, Zhao Tuo proposed a series of suggestions and measures that promoted the integration of the Han people from the Central Plains with the various ethnic groups of the Baiyue, which is also the earliest origin of the local Hakka people and the formation of Lingnan culture. This also resulted in the small village of Tuocheng having nearly 180 surnames and about 50 ancestral halls.
Tuocheng is a very quiet town with both pastoral scenery and cultural atmosphere. The entire town is an open scenic area, where the bricks and tiles within the town are preserved relics. Later generations have only carried out repairs on this basis, trying to maintain the original appearance as much as possible.
Huoshan, the overlooked famous mountain
Huoshan is truly a huge surprise! It is an overlooked famous mountain in Guangdong, with magic carpets, glass bridges, and a 360-degree panoramic view that is spectacular and deserves widespread promotion. Lingshan Temple reminds me of the Hanging Temple, similarly situated halfway up the mountain, with the continuous sound of cicadas.
Located in the central part of Longchuan County, Heyuan, it is one of the seven famous mountains in Guangdong and a provincial-level forest park, known for its precipitous red cliffs and strange rocks. Legend has it that in ancient times, there were no big mountains here. It was said that when the goddess Nüwa was mending the sky, she scattered the remaining mortar on earth, which happened to fall on Huoshan, thus making the mountain present steep cliffs, towering precipices, and a variety of strangely shaped rocks that are breathtaking. Huoshan was not called Huoshan in the past. Later, during the chaos of the Chu-Han Contention, the ancestors of the famous scholar Huo Long moved from Wu to Yue and settled in Longchuan, living in seclusion on Huoshan. When Emperor Gaozu of Han was in power, he once asked Huo Long to leave the mountain to take office, but Huo Long had no interest in officialdom and said, 'Longchuan is the birthplace of dragons. If the dragon leaves the stream, it might as well be granted death,' politely declining and choosing to live in seclusion on Huoshan. He wrote books, spread culture, enlightened the locals, and after achieving his work, he became an immortal, leaving his name in the world. In gratitude for his beneficence, the people named the mountain after him. Huoshan has many scenic spots, with 372 steep peaks, 48 of which are famous, 27 rocks, 8 great caves, and 11 springs. It is truly a place where thousands of rocks compete in beauty, and thousands of ravines vie in flow, with each peak having its own unique form and every place presenting a spectacle. Therefore, for thousands of years, many scholars, poets, monks, and Taoists have come in an endless stream.
Chongxing Wei is located in Shanchi Village, Longchuan, Guangdong
Chongxing Wei was built by Xie Yunchong, the 18th generation descendant of Xie Dieshan, a national hero of the Southern Song Dynasty, a patriotic poet, who was known as 'Zhao Yang'. His grandfather, Xie Renzhong, was a 'thousand-household marquis' and a wealthy and famous figure in Longchuan County during the Kangxi period. His father, Yu Rong, was the Right Deputy Minister of the Ministry of War. The construction of Chongxing Wei started in the early Qianlong period (1730-1740) and took 10 years to complete.
Chongxing Wei covers an area of 20 acres, with more than 150 rooms, 22 courtyards of various sizes, and 25 halls and parlors. The outer walls of the fortress are about 11 meters high with a thickness of 60 cm, made of extremely hard lime mixed walls. The fortress has two floors, and in the middle is the main house with three vertical and four horizontal structures and four corner towers, making it highly defensive. It has a history of over 270 years. It has withstood numerous harassments by bandits and several attacks by the National Army. In the old times, when technology was not as advanced, these walls were sufficient to withstand enemy attacks.
Tuocheng
To visit the Tuocheng scenic area, it is closest to get off at Longchuan West Station (high-speed rail station), which is less than 3 kilometers away from Tuocheng. There is also a bus service from the West Station, but the frequency is low. Tuocheng, also known as Longchuan City, was established as a county in 214 BC, with Zhao Tuo (later the King of Nanyue) as its first county magistrate, hence it was later named Tuocheng. Tuocheng is a world-famous Hakka ancient town and a renowned city of Lingnan culture. Despite the vicissitudes of a thousand years, the ancient city's relics are well preserved. The ancient city walls, Zhao Tuo's former residence, the King of Yue Temple, the King of Yue Well, the City God Temple, the Academy, the Examination Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, and the theater, among others, all have many stories to tell. Tuocheng is worth a half-day stay.
Longchuan Huoshan Scenic Area in Guangdong
Huoshan Tourist Scenic Area has three hundred and seventy-two peaks, among which the most exquisite one is called the Great Buddha Trace. During the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, there was a man named Huo Long, styled Lingyang, who lived here, hence the name Huoshan. Legend has it that in ancient times, there were no big mountains here. It was because when the goddess Nüwa was mending the sky, she scattered the remaining bit of building paste onto the mortal world, which happened to fall on Huoshan, thus making Huoshan present steep cliffs, sheer precipices, standing tall in the sky, with strange rocks and a thousand different postures, making it an extraordinary mountain peak that astonishes onlookers.
Huoshan is one of the seven famous mountains in Guangdong, a provincial-level forest park, and a national AAAA-rated tourist area, known far and wide for its perilous red cliffs and strange rocks.
Whenever there is fog, one can see clouds and mist below, with peaks revealing their sharp stones, and the sky barely visible. If you are in this place, you see clouds below, peaks above, with clouds and mist moving back and forth under your feet, suddenly rising and falling, entwining and dispersing rapidly, creating a myriad of weather phenomena, as if ascending to the fairy mountains and jade towers, truly a scene where only the sky is above, with no mountain equal in height. Standing on the peak and looking into the distance, the sky is high and the earth is wide, boundless, with thousands of mountains faintly visible, and a thousand more mountains lush with greenery, clouds low and mist hazy, ridges racing like elephants. The boundaries of the seven counties of Longchuan, Wuhua, Zijin, Dongyuan, Lianping, Heping, and Boluo are clearly in sight, and the two rivers of Dong and Han appear like green silk ribbons, dancing among the mountains, with fields and villages resembling a paradise on earth, such a beautiful fairyland! No wonder when Su Dongpo wandered here in the past, he was inspired to chant: 'Huoshan's fine aura wraps around like lush onions, its presence overpowering the number one peak of Xunzhou; the stone path's surface dust is swept away by the rain, the cave door is unlocked, inviting the clouds to seal; the boat's head where immortals once crossed, the jar's wine from yesteryear even more robust; with swift steps ascend and open your eyes, the beauty of the south of the Yangtze River reflects in the pupils.' The estimated tour time is about 4 hours.

The internal wall bases are tamped with ash and sand, about 2 meters high, and the wall bodies are built with mud bricks, with tiles covering the roof. The main gate is made of stone and wood, facing from north to south, with three round holes above the center of the gate and on both sides (three different directions). The diaolou was built by Ye Dezhen, Ye Lianchang, Ye Xiantang, Ye Xipei, Ye Tianxiang, Ye Tianyan, Ye Chaoyuan, Ye Mingxi, Ye Yuanyi, Ye Jingyi, and other ten people who took the lead in using public compensation, rent grain funds to build the diaolou with a grey sand brick wood structure on a small hill with a good view in the western part of the village, commonly known as the cannon tower, named Shuiqian Tower. It is a key cultural relic of Longchuan County.
The Grand View Mansion in Shanchi Village, Longchuan, Guangdong
The Grand View Mansion, also known as 'Dexin Hall', was built by the Xie family's Kao Yui Gong during the Qing Dynasty. The enclosed complex currently has a layout of two courtyards, two lateral sections, and one surrounding cage, with a two-story mixed structure of stone, earth, and wood.
