On the day I went to Lu'an, the rain had just stopped, and the weather was still gloomy. A layer of faint mist hovered over the surface of the Pihe River, and there were several bridges across the river. On the east bank of the river, north of Yunlu Bridge, there remains a section of the ancient city wall from the Qing Dynasty. Continuing along the Pihe River, less than a kilometer away is the Beita — the Duobao'an Pagoda. 📜 Beita Park (Duobao'an) With the North Pagoda as the backdrop, the park features a square, curved bridges, corridors, pavilions, fountains, screen walls, and the small Duobao'an Temple, forming a large open park. Local elders say, 'Lu'an is a 'boat' place. The ancient city is like a big boat, and the two treasure pagodas to the north and south are like the 'boat's' two masts. 'When the water rises, the boat ascends.' Although Lu'an city is close to the old Pihe River, it has never been flooded.' Therefore, people call it the North Gate Cone. The legend about the North Pagoda is related to Yu Chi Jingde, and the original shape of the pagoda was inspired by his nine-section steel whip. The eighth and ninth levels were destroyed early on, and now only seven levels remain. The pagoda is hollow (the South Pagoda is solid), with stairs that can be climbed, but it was not open when I visited. Situated on the out sketch of the city about 18km away from the lua’an train station and about 40 minutes drive. It's a country road but fine as it's not complicated. This park gives you an inside view of the nightlife you have been looking for. It's not just the lighting effects coupled with music from the background that seems amazing but also the numerous games and entertainment going on in there. Barbecue and drinks are also part of the whole deal. This is a place where you will find lots of people especially during summer. Lighting effects begings from 6:00PM. while waiting to get in, you can spend time checking out some animals on the other side of the park. The fee is 19.5 yuan per person for the entertainment site with lights and it's advised that you get your tickets 2 hours ahead of time.
