I like this Wildlife Centre in Kuching
Standing there, watching these beautiful animals up close, I felt something slow down inside me. No rushing. No noise. Just breathing, observing, and appreciating life in its purest form.
Seeing how these rescued animals are cared for, protected, and given a second chance made me realize how precious nature really is — and how easily we forget that in our busy daily routine.
For a moment, it wasn’t about taking photos or checking my phone.
It was about being present.
Listening to the rustling leaves, the distant calls of the animals, and feeling completely at peace.
This trip didn’t just show me wildlife.
It reminded me to be gentle, to be aware, and to be grateful.
Kuching always has a way of slowing me down in the best way. 🌿✨

Sebako Waterfall · Kuching's Hidden Gem
💦 Escape into the pristine rainforest and let the rhythm of the waterfall cleanse your soul 🍃
You may not have heard of Sebako, but it lies deep within the tropical rainforest on the outskirts of Kuching. Only those willing to hike, climb over rocks, and wade through streams can reach this understated yet breathtaking natural pool.
The cool mountain spring water flows into your ears, sunlight filters through the trees onto the water's surface, and everything feels as if it's been reset by nature.
Sometimes, the most memorable places aren't the most famous attractions, but these hidden gems that make you truly "feel alive." 🌿

Take a Break at Pandan Beach, Lundu 🍃
One of the most infamous beaches in Sarawak, Pandan Beach is about a 2 hours drive from Kuching city. Depending on your mode of transport, we used ferry to cross the river before driving further up to this gorgeous beach. Surrounded by the local kampungs, this beach is usually teemed with tourists during weekends and holidays but rest assured that the beach is still well maintained by locals and tourists alike. Do drop by if you’re a fan of the sun and sea. For those who are too lazy to drive back down, there’s several homestays and resorts nearby where you can enjoy a nights stay to recuperate before driving back down the next day. #newyearadventure

A Peaceful Pause at Lundu Central Mosque: Prayers, Patterns, and Quiet Beauty
My visit to Lundu Central Mosque was short—but it was one of those stops that gently slows you down in the best way possible.
Stepping In: From Busy to Peaceful
The moment I entered the mosque for prayer, everything felt calmer. The space was quiet, airy, and welcoming, making it easy to focus and feel present. Even during a short prayer visit, there was a sense of stillness that wrapped around you, as if the outside world had politely agreed to wait.
The Carvings: Art You Can’t Ignore
Before and after prayer, it was impossible not to admire the carvings—both outside and inside the mosque. On the exterior, delicate floral and geometric patterns frame entrances and walls, catching the light and quietly showing off the craftsmanship. They feel elegant, not flashy, and set the tone before you even step inside.
Inside, the carvings feel more personal. They decorate arches and walls with gentle curves and repeating patterns that naturally draw your eyes without stealing attention from the prayer itself. It’s the kind of detail that makes you pause and think, Wow, someone really put love into this.
Why It Stays With You
What made the visit special wasn’t just the prayer or the carvings—it was how they worked together. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with thoughtful design, made the mosque feel warm, grounded, and deeply calming.
Final Thoughts
Lundu Central Mosque proves that you don’t need a long visit to feel something meaningful. A short prayer, a few quiet moments admiring the carvings, and suddenly the day feels lighter.
Sometimes, the best travel moments are the quiet ones.

Exploring Lundu for the ultimate beach sunrise 🌊☀️ nestled at the feet of mystical Mount Santubong! If you crave tranquil coastal vibes AND killer morning views, this Sarawak escape needs to be on your radar.
Must-See: Rambungan Beach
Location: Lundu, Sarawak, Malaysia
Open: 24/7 (but trust me, get here early for sunrise!)
Tip: Set your alarm for 5:30am and get to Rambungan Beach just as the sky begins to glow. The sun rises right behind Mount Santubong, framing it in epic pinks, oranges, and soft gold—bring your phone/camera, it’s #nofilter magic! The sand is super soft, locals are welcoming, and you might spot fishermen prepping for their morning catch.
Practical Bits:
Getting There: From Kuching city, take a public bus or book a local taxi via trip.com for the 1.5-2 hour scenic drive west to Lundu. If you’re coming from the Lundu town itself, Rambungan is just ~25 minutes away.
Food: Pack some snacks and drinks, as there aren’t many food stalls at sunrise. Head back to Lundu town for fresh laksa and kopi at cosy local cafés (Warung Kak Noor, Jalan Lundu).
Other Tips:
Bring insect repellent (the early hours have a few mozzies). Wear light layers—ocean breeze is cool before 7am. Respect the locals’ morning routines and beach cleanliness.
For travel hacks, pre-book local transfers on trip.com to save time and avoid confusion.

Lundu was my latest escape, and Rambungan Beach totally stole the spotlight 🌴⛱️ Expect gorgeous sunrises, dreamy sunsets, and a camping vibe that feels like you’re in your own little world.
Top Spot to Visit: Rambungan Beach
Address: Lundu, Sarawak, Malaysia
Open: 24/7 (nature never closes!)
Why go? You get a true back-to-basics coastal adventure. There’s a campsite by the beach with simple facilities—think clean bathrooms, plenty of space to pitch a tent, some barbecue pits, and not much else (so real, so good!). Tip: Bringing your own food is a must. Morning coffee and sunrise views here just hit different, and sunset is equally magical—don’t forget your camera!
Pro Tip: Since it’s all about self-cooking, pack a portable stove and chill at the beach BBQ area. For campers—hang your wet stuff high, monkeys love to snoop! The facilities are clean but basic, so come ready for rustic adventure and sandy feet.
Getting Around: You’ll want wheels—there’s zero public transport, so rent a car or hitch a ride from Kuching (about 1.5 hours away).
Food: No shops, so hit up Lundu town’s markets for fresh seafood and snacks before heading to the beach.
Extra Tips: Bring cash—no ATMs. Check the weather, because downpours are epic and sudden here in Sarawak!

Hiking trails for adventure lover
Sarawak's Gunung Gading National Park is located around 30min to 1 hour from the city centre depending on your transportation of choice. The hike is beginner and family friendly. If you're lucky, you might have the opportunity to see a blooming Rafflesia. You can add hiking to Gunung Gading as a short 1 day trip from Kuching .

Short Gateways that bring you closer to peace nature ~ Kuching
Nestled along the banks of the Sarawak River, Kuching is a city that whispers stories of heritage, wilderness, and quiet magic. My recent journey there felt fullness of life and recharge with the nature touch and people’s warmth.
Hosting a big group of friends stepping first time into my hometown, they enjoyed the art of slowdowns cityscape, majestic Neo-gothic Roman Catholic Church, climbing up mysterious Fairy Cave to look for the clues, showering in the breezy air at beach side and wake up by the peaceful sunrise from the sea lines far far away….

One-day beach escape with friends — just a few hours from Kuching, but felt like another world.
🏖️ A hidden gem with soft sands and clear waters,
🎮 We flew drones, played with kites, built sandcastles like kids again,
🍱 Brought our own food and drinks, picnic-style,
🪑 Chit chat under the sun, waves as background music.
No crowds, no rush — just laughter, sea breeze, and the kind of joy that only comes from good company and nature’s beauty.

🏖️ Lundu Side of Life: Sunshine, sea breeze and our daily beach life
📍Lundu, Sarawak
What is true relaxation? It is not a full-schedule tour, but lying on the beach and doing nothing is also very happy.
🌊 Blue sky and white clouds, waves rhythmically hitting the shore, we just sit quietly.
🧢 Some people sunbathe, some people set up tents, and some people lie down and sleep until they snore.
🍃 The best scenery is actually the group of friends around us who are in a daze together.
Come to Lundu, there is no need to rush to attractions or check in famous shops - we just want to waste time on people who are worth it.

visited Telok Melano, which is about an hour away from the city. If you’re traveling with kids, you’ll be delighted to know that there’s an open beach where they can play and have fun. There are also ATVs available for rent, so you can explore the area on your own. And if you need to use the restroom, there’s a toilet available for 20 sen per entry. The sea is usually quite calm, so it’s a great place to relax and enjoy the water.

Sebako Waterfall: Journey Through the Rainforest for a Spectacular Waterfall Experience
On a March morning, we set off from Kuching city, driving for about 1 hour and 15 minutes 🚗 to reach the trailhead of Sebako Waterfall.
At 8:00 AM sharp, we stepped onto the damp, earthy trail, winding our way up alongside an old water pipeline 🚶♀️. On one side, tropical ferns and wild vines 🌱 intertwined under the forest canopy, while on the other, a gentle stream whispered softly 💧, as if serenading our journey.
As we hiked, panting and catching our breath, we unexpectedly stumbled upon a blooming Rafflesia 🌺 by the roadside! We could hardly believe our eyes—this legendary flower truly appears when least expected. What incredible luck!
After approximately 1.5 hours, the view suddenly opened up. The waterfall cascaded down the cliff, and the icy mountain spring washed away all our fatigue and heat 🧊. We spent the day picnicking, playing in the water, taking photos, and simply relaxing until around 1:30 PM, when we began our descent, concluding this pure forest adventure.
Here, there are no crowds, no signal 📵—just the sway of trees, the beat of your heart, and the breath of nature ❤️.
