2026 Lundu Travel Guide: must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transport & travel experiences (updated in August)

Kubah National Park is around a 30-40 minute drive from the Kuching Waterfront area. Covering 2230 hectares, the park is home to a wild variety of plant species, as well as rich wildlife including amphibians, insects and other animals. It’s perfect for a day trip. Most people come here for jungle trekking or wildlife watching. Interestingly, there is a trail that connects Kubah National Park to Matang Wildlife Centre. You can also hire a guide for a night walk, which I highly recommended. We found a local guide who was very friendly and attentive, carefully introducing the frogs and plants throughout the park. The trip ran from 6:15 PM to 10 PM, including hotel pick-up and drop-off. Honestly, the whole experience was totally worth it! One of the most infamous beaches in Sarawak, Pandan Beach is about a 2 hours drive from Kuching city. Depending on your mode of transport, we used ferry to cross the river before driving further up to this gorgeous beach. Surrounded by the local kampungs, this beach is usually teemed with tourists during weekends and holidays but rest assured that the beach is still well maintained by locals and tourists alike. Do drop by if you’re a fan of the sun and sea. For those who are too lazy to drive back down, there’s several homestays and resorts nearby where you can enjoy a nights stay to recuperate before driving back down the next day. #newyearadventure

Check into Retreat Mt. Kuwai, near a mangrove hiking trail. The panoramic sea views from the top of Mount Kuwai are breathtaking. Parasailing is available from the viewing platform, but please do so at your own risk! 😄

Gunung Serapi is my absolute favourite local hike and I have done it more than 3 times already hehe If you’re in Kuching and want a solid hiking experience, this is the one! What I love most is the tar road trail leading up to the summit. Don’t let the paved road fool you lol it’s a proper workout! The inclines keeps you working hard the whole way up but the sense of achievement when you reach the top makes every step worth it! The trail itself is well-defined and manageable, making it great whether you’re seasoned hiker or just starting out. Highly recommend for locals and tourists alike! ⛰️

My visit to Lundu Central Mosque was short—but it was one of those stops that gently slows you down in the best way possible.
